Azat
An elderly woman goes to the doctor and asks his help to revive her husband's sex drive. "What about trying sorryyyyy?' asks the doctor."Not a chance," says Mrs. Murphy. "He won't even take an aspirin for a headache." No problem," replies the doctor. "Drop it into his coffee, he won't even taste it. Try it and then call me in a week to let me know how things went." A week later, Mrs. Murphy calls the doctor, and he inquires as to how things went. "Oh it was terrible, just terrible, doctor." What happened?" asks the doctor. Well I did as you advised and slipped it in his coffee. The effect was immediate. He jumped straight up, swept the cutlery off the table, at the same time ripping my clothes off and then proceeded to make passionate love to me on the tabletop. It was terrible." What was terrible?" said the doctor. "Was the sex not good?" Oh no, doctor, the sex was the best I've had in 25 years, but I'll never be able to show my face in Starbuck's again! Aaron
ThornyStarbuck is a very popular cafe and social meeting place in North America (a franchise i believe), the joke says that the woman had sex on the table, in the middle of the cafe and that she's too ashamed to go back there.I'd be pretty embarrased too, ha, ha! Can anyone direct me, please? I know how distateful it can be to have to explain a joke, but... I think it's the second time I've heard about this "Starbuck's" in the past week, so I think it's a sign I have to learn something new. Peets coffee is MUCH better.
THOTH
Yea - agree concerning Starbucks...I prefer Edna's Armenian coffee (familiar?)...or 100% Kona or Puerto Rican (Alto Grande!) or a good quality French or Columbian roast (depending on mood - desire for smooth versus just plain good and strong) - Starbucks is far overated (though perhaps goes down better if one is laid out on the table along with a member of the opposite sex...)! Never had Peets - heard it was good however...(I'll judge for myself thank you...though your recommendation is noted) McDonalds etc in Turkey...reminds me of a conversation/disagreement I had with this Turkish guy who was exhorting the fact that Disney was planning to build an amusment park near Antalya - he thought it was the greatest thing (for his Turk pride etc)...I could only think (and express to him my sadness) of how Antalya would be ruined/overun etc. We defeated a Disney Theme Park attempt right here near where I live - they had (secretly) bought the land and were ready to move foreword on their plans...I knew (that all the old money rich people in this area) would defeat it! Ya! Take that Mickey! quote:Originally posted by Azat: Thorny, you mean American cultural icons like McDonalds and Starbucks have not taken over Turkey yet? Consider yourself lucky. I don't think I have ever had Puerto Rican coffee, but it must be similar to that of Jamaica and I do love that. However I do not like Kona coffee. It has this sour taste that I can't seem to get over.Where do you get Edna's Armenian coffee? I did not know that Armenia even produced coffee. I thought it was 100% imported. THOTH
Edna's is Armenian coffee produced somewhere her in the States (I'll have to check the packaging & give you their address/contact if its on there). Its a very very fine grind - for Turkish/Arabic style - with all of the yummy sludge in the bottom (gets all between your teeth however...LOL). I will sometimes blend it with Columbian or Puerto Rican (only available in Puerto Rico unfortunatly) - makes the best coffee imaginable! You should be able to get Edna's at many of the little Armenian Grocers in Hollywood/Glendale or wherever - I'm sure I did...very sure actually. quote:Originally posted by Azat: I don't think I have ever had Puerto Rican coffee, but it must be similar to that of Jamaica and I do love that.
