khodja
Why does the rabid Armenian right have so much power in our community? Why do the likes of Rushdooney and Hairabedian elicit so much respect? Why do some of us support a Missakian when it is apparent that he is a sure loser in a Democratic majority district?Whose interests are being engendering a community of far-right anti-Semites? Are the common Armenian and church leadership being manipulated by certain community leaders for their own perasonal gain?

khodja
I did not live in California all my life. I did not feel this way when I lived in the Eastern US. The Armenian leaders and Republican Armenian officeholders, I supported abd respected. I adulated Governor Deukmejian. That was before the so-called Christian fascists took over the Armenian community and the Republican Party.

Hyeflyer
I have often wondered why more Armenians are not independants instead of democrat or republican.Be afilliated with who will serve you and the comunity best not a party machine. anoush.
Sounds like YOU are the rabid one! Or maybe you're spastic, foaming at the mouth about "anti-Semitism" for another reason???
khodja
Anoush, You are hell-bent in SOLIDIFYING all the Jews against Armenians and Armenia. Are you getting your marching orders there in Orlando from Ankara? How much are they paying you per month to do this?
anoush.
Backward talking? I'd say you're getting paid by ankara or tel aviv. Now don't pretend that there is any more jews can possibly do against Armenians that they haven't already done or are still doing. That is laughable beyond belief and quite pathetic. khodja
Anoush, Do you think that ANYONE here is not aware of the influence of the Jewish lobby in the US? As long as Armenia had a lopsided foreign policy siding unequivaceably with the Palestinians, the Israelis will be sidling up to Turkey. Please leave this issue to the Armenians here. If you want to get invoed wit ethnic matters, I suggest you take the first ship back to Palermo, where you can do good works for your people. Your efforts will not have a positive effect on the problem that you are addressing here.

Your logic is backwards once again. Please leave this issue to the Armenians here. I will not react to your provocation with deserved insult, but I have every right to address and inform regarding any and all issues. Your efforts will not have a positive effect on the problem that you are addressing here.  Anoush> Au contraire, many Armenians are now aware and ready to fight back. khodja
My original "handle" was Khodja, a title given my great-grandfather by the Ottoman authorities. Since this man was not a Moslem but an Armenian Catholic, this title did not signify being a moslem cleric, but a prosperous merchant. This "handle" angered so many here that I changed it to hagarag, signifying my opposition to many backward and reactionary Armenian cultural viewpoints which have retarded Armenian progress on the world stage. I do not know a word in Turkish, so your theory does not hold water. My parents had no reason to teach me that language, Turkish, the language of the nation that had murdered both their fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. They would only speak Turkish to one another when they did not want the children to understand what they were saying. If I had my way EVERY Armenian conservative would lose and every Armenian moderate or liberal would win. We insured that Missakian lost the Assembly race after his hatchet job of ges-Hye Krekorian in the primary. Long live Congresswoman Eshoo, Assemblyman Simitian, Mayor Manoukian, Rachael Kaprielian and the other Armenian Democratic officeholders in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, etc. To hell with you and all the other right-wing Armenians. khodja
Hovsep Kashishian, We all know here that "Anoush" is not an Armenian but an Italian Sicilian from Orlando, married to an Armenian.
gamavor
Hagarag, You are such a hypocrite. On one hand you advocate liberalism among Armenians, and frequently bashing them for being too close, too ethnocentric, too conservative, too right-wing, too I don't know what else, and in the same time you are mad at somebody who might not be Armenian by blood but defends Armenian cause as he/she sees it. And there is a legitimate question why you think that you are right and others are not. Plus, you, yourself hardly can pass for "true" Armenian given your ancestry. Just relax and learn to listen. I admit that that is hard for me too, but at least I'm trying. Regards

khodja
Gamavor, Since I am 1/8 Assori, you do not consider me a true Armenian. I guess the other 7/8 Armenian does not mean anything to you. Your view is an example of the narrow-minded idiocy of which I was speaking. As for "Anoush" I have never seen such a misnomer. Anoush goes beyond supporting Armenian cause to bashing Jews, and dragging their name in the dirt. By doing this she is doing much to hurt the Armenian cause. Her true agenda is not supporting the Armenian cause but bashing Jews.
khodja
KASHISHIAN, Au contraire, it is the likes of you who have driven so many of our people out of the community.I know very well you right-wing Armenians. You will stop at nothing to drive the more moderate Armenians out of the community. Your political ideology takes precedence over your Armenian-ness or the furthering of the Armenian cause.
