TURKEY HAS JUST RECOGNISED THE GENOCIDE...

... That is news, I know that from a very credible source, it will be confirmed tomorrow on the Turkish press, for now the Parlement has voted to kip it secret.

It is hard to believe, but it seem this time its true, it is expected that in 2 weeks a Law will be voted, its really amazing, Turkey that recognised it even before USA, like the days they signed the Genocide convention before the USA again.

But there has been some conditions, there will be no return of land, but still theyr will review the statue of the deserted City of Ani, and their blockage of Armenia, and as amazing as it is, on the date of 24 April 2002, they will recognise Karabagh as an independent state.

Maybe...

But do you not think that if I would have posted it in the humour section, people would have known it was a joke ? And even more, when the joke in question is less possible then affirming that I have been ubducted by aliens.

Hi Arpa, I don't think that is an April's fool joke, I just read that story on groong.usc.edu , I doubt they would post a joke on there. It does seem very strange though. Just though I'd let you know.

BTW, do you know how to say "grenade" in Turkish ?

I don't know if there is a new technical word for it but "el bombasi", i.e. "hand bomb" will probbaly do.

For Baronian's April Mek story see Humor. As much as I can remember.

No, no, you are right, the word genocide is not a word to make fun with it...

And I agree...

... here my joke was not centered on the genocide issue, but the Turkish government stupidity, to show that even if affirming it no one will buy that thing, and it would have been more easy for me to tell I have won 1 million or have been ubducted by aliens...

So my joke had also an educational purposes

Atta boy Boghos!

Yes, may be it should have posted in the Humor section, Black Humor, that is. However it may be time that we also relax and laugh at ourselves a little bit. It is good for one's health.

As long as we are at the subject here is another story that shouls have been posted in the Humor section. Look at the date;

BTW. Does anybody remember Hakob Baronian's April fool story about "Tzrouk/Leach"?

Eh ? Then are you claiming to be a Jew then ?

Who was playing with that word, and was always shuting it to the point of reducing its meaning ?

Who was denying a Genocide(the Jewish genocide) and making fun of it ?

Wash your mouth before giving me some moral lessons.

Turkish PM downplays charge of Israeli "genocide"

ANKARA, April 5 (Reuters) - Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit

said on Friday his remarks accusing military ally Israel of

committing "genocide" against Palestinians reflected the region's

growing anxiety over violence in the Middle East.

Muslim Turkey is Israel's closest ally in the region, but the

premier's remarks reflected Turkey's growing discomfort with

Israel's invasion of Palestinian cities in response to a string of

Palestinian suicide bombings.

Ecevit told his party members in parliament on Thursday: "A

genocide against the Palestinian people is being carried out before

the eyes of the world."

On Friday he sought to downplay that charge.

"In this speech I touched upon the grave results the events in the

Middle East could lead to," he said in a statement faxed to

Reuters. "My words reflected the anxiety felt in our country and

our region."

Israel and Turkey cooperate on a range of security issues, and just

last month Turkey signed a deal for an Israeli state defence firm

to upgrade Turkey's ageing M-60 tanks.

But thousands of Turks have taken to the streets this week to

declare their solidarity with Palestinians and demand Israeli Prime

Minister Ariel Sharon end the military offensive.

At least nine Palestinians were killed in overnight fighting

between Israeli troops and Palestinian gunmen in the West Bank

cities of Nablus and Jenin, Palestinian security officials and

witnesses said on Friday.

It was announced today that a joint committee of Armenian leaders have declared the use of all geographical and national/regional prefixes before the word "Armenian" illegal and punishable by a fine of qarsun thousand years of shame.
