Harut
anybody following the games?
nairi
I can't not follow them. Every time Holland or Turkey scores a goal, my entire city shakes. Do they show the matches in the US? Holland actually stands a chance to win. History repeating itself 20 years after the fact (Holland heroically beating the USSR). But so does Spain, it seems. My prediction is final game between Holland and Spain or Holland and Portugal, either way Holland is going to be the Champions. Hey Ed Jan where are you? This is the time to pick Holland. hyethga
Did you see the Turkey match with Czech The Turkish players are a pack of cheaters. 3 yellow cards, constant fouls, and a lapse in the Czech defense line in the last 20 minutes is why the Turkish team won. They can't do anything without mending or breaking the rules. Kudos to Nahit though, he exploited the defense line of the Czechs too well. Hey Ed Jan where are you? This is the time to pick Holland. actually my favorite team always been Holland and sadly they have this bad lack, i remember 1978 world finals game in Argentina.....what a game that was I hope they meet and beat Germans in Finals, its going to be more of a boxing match then futbol they hate each other

The 2nd one came off the trivial lob that Cech should've easily handled and the final goal seemed very offside. How did the officials miss that one? They had even better team in 1974. This year they may take it though.
Armen Half-Celt
In 1998, I hated the Netherlands' team for depriving me of Argentina vs Brazil in the Semis. This year, I'm soldily supproting them to take the trophy after those two dominating perromences. I think they deserve it.
Zartonk
I've followed all the games. Holland all the way, Portugal second bet.
Yervant1
Wow!!! The Russians are coming, they humiliated the Sweden side. They could have scored 3 more goals minimum. I'm forcasting tomorrows game; Portugal 3 and Germany
garmag
Russians were very impressive... Spain with 10 changes still outplayed in the second half to defeat Greece. Still predict an Iberian win in the finals.
ED
Spain? I dought it....so far most discipline team is Holland and Croatia, i wouldn't rule out Portugal eider, Croatia-Turkey is going to be interesting, i just hope Germans get kicked out by Portugal tomorrow, never liked German unflavored lame futbol

garmag
They have advantage in technique but Holland has physical and talent. Holland is good when they play as a team, granted they have some talented players that are, far tooooo often, selfish. Historically talented players have won more finals then physically endowed teams... Pele and Ronaldo for Brazil, Maradona for Argentina, Zidane for France, Charisteas for Greece... Ronaldo for Portugal? or the Spanish trio of forwards? If Portugal wins against Germany today, they can go all the way having as possible rivals Spain. However Russia remains the dark horse to take it... if they beat Halland.

However Russia remains the dark horse to take it... if they beat Halland. That is why I said Holland has strength and talent, as for playing as a team that goes for any team. This time around Holland is playing as a team nothing like two years ago in the world cup, as long Robban is not in the starting line up Holland will be OK he is a selfish player. A striker needs to be hungary but not selfish. Talent is very important but you can't dismiss the physical strength of players, so many times the outcome of a game is determined in the last minutes of the game. Today is the last day for Germany, unless some unforseen luck gives them the victory because Germany is known for their luck.

Let's not confuse endurance with physical strenght. Cyclists can never knock out boxers but will outlast them every time. Power without TALENT AND skills will never succeed against artistry and team play. Just look back at the most winning teams of international competitions. I guess with you either this or that but never the two together, you know what I'm trying to say. Isn't it obvious that strength and endurance alone is not going to get the job done but strength and endurance plus team play with talent will do. In my opinion Holland has all four this time around and I'm very optimistic that they will be the champions.

Pity Portugal lost to Germany, with a Balack, assisted with a shoved foul header clearly seen on replay, that went undetected by refs... So much for predictions
ED
yes its shame Portugal lost, they should of played all the game like they did in last 10 minutes, I was superior futbol, they dominated Germans, to bad they lost as far as Holland I agree with garmag, dutch always had an ego problem, Gulit-Van basten-or the couch now they seem to be playing very disciplined and for the team. I predict win for Holland vs Russia. I'm looking forward Italy-Holland game.

This shows that talent alone is not enough you need the other attributions as well. Germany had only four shots on net, how lucky can they be? Ashot
Russians played a very beautiful game - that was shocking for everyone... If they continue the same tactics and the same beautiful games, they might even have a chance!!! Yervant jan - the way it looked they could have scored at least 4 more goals with ease... 3 out of the 4 would be the ones that hit the poles! Turkey is barbaric - the only way they win is with crushing the opponents, they have no more chances left... this will be their final - they will be out on the next game!!!
