Vera
I was told many times that over the years Armenians in Hayastan have begun to dislike foreigners and Armenians from other countries, especially USA. Does anyone have any experience with that?
Ashot
YES!!! They hate especially the ones that go to Armenia and start talking about the country they are coming from and how good the life is there... Makes them wanna kill you, then they start saying how they would do everything to come to US and work for 1500 a month, thinking that this money is a huge ammount for the US, not knowing that 1500 is not even enough for Gas and Food, because the people that go from the US to Armenia usually take a lot of money with they, that they saved up over years just to go to Armenia and have the fun... So that makes them pissed off and confused, so they start hating!!!
Vera
Thank you Ashot. Now I know what not to talk about on my visits. You must have saved me from a lot of trouble

Nazarian
I was told many times that over the years Armenians in Hayastan have begun to dislike foreigners and Armenians from other countries, especially USA. Does anyone have any experience with that? It's possible but whenever I have been there, never encountered any problems. The shopkeepers treat you as crappy as they treat their other customers

The shopkeepers treat you as crappy as they treat their other customers Vestiges of the Communist days when the stores had so little to offer that they (those behind the counter) were like kings. Competition is the only solution to that.

hyethga
I was told many times that over the years Armenians in Hayastan have begun to dislike foreigners and Armenians from other countries, especially USA. Does anyone have any experience with that? Ditto with what Ashot said. Artasahmantsis (especially those who are Western Armenian), no offense, sound like they have just woken up from a coma when they go to Armenia: "Ohhh, asigah eh mer Hayastan@, inch ahvaor eh......Ohhhhh inch hrashali eh mer Ararat lerr@......6,000AMD? untamenuh et??"....yev ayln All I am saying is that they should keep a much lower profile, curb their enthusiasm, and to at least not (inadvertently) rub it in the people's faces after having gone through so much these past few decades. Life in Armenia isn't that great with all the hoo haw they make it out to be. Edited April 3, 2008 by hyethga
edward demian
It does not surprise me. The Oregonians resent the Californians visiting or resettling. How ridiculous are the small minds.
