vava
I guess they're counting on the Field of Dreams mantra, "If you build it, they will come..." - My guess is, they will come
Aubépine
They must be so self-confident to think they will get a return on all of their investments because of the fact that money grows on trees for them or because they are selling dreams. It's probably both.
Arpa
There is a crude saying that goes- "When the Kurd has too much oil (pun intended) at hand, he will apply it to his .... seat"
Yervant1
In my opinion the leaders of Dubai are smart, they are aware the end of oil will come hence the diversification. Very soon Dubai will be the center of commerce and free banking for the region if it's not already.

garmag
If only we had their economic capabilities to build...! This is a visionary thinking and very smart investment for their future generations. Very impressive, if we disregard the (.....est of every development involved). Some of the designs are absolutly imaginative and sensual. BTW, if the planets' sea and ocean levels are rising, according to some views, what will happen to the men made islands? Arpa
If only we had their economic capabilities to build...! === BTW, if the planets' sea and ocean levels are rising, according to some views, what will happen to the men made islands? In the words of that great American philosopher P T Barnum- There's a sucker born every minute From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "There's a sucker born every minute" is a phrase often credited to P.T. Barnum (1810 – 1891), an American showman. It is generally taken to mean that there are (and always will be) a lot of gullible people in the world. Yes. Suckers with zillions of bucks who hire American and European architect contractors to build yet another man-made/sand made island at the shores of a land that is half as latge as the US. Saudi Arabia, excluding such as Yemen, Oman, United Emirates and ...... is by itself, at ca 400,000 square miles, larger than one third of the US feels the need to create artificial islands. Speaking of suckers. Keep them sucker buckers $$$$ coming

But, how about their "Harem Houris" who are not even allowed to drive a car, let alone - pick their own noses??
Ashot
Arpa jan, mother earth doesn't forget and definetly doesn't forgive - everything is there with a time stamp on it, nothing is forever!
Arpa
Yes. But, how about their "Harem Houris" who are not even allowed to drive a car, let alone - pick their own noses?? There is an old joke as to why Armenian men will not teach their wives to drive a car. I may have forgotten all the punch lines but… After a long road test, when they are together in bed… She grabs the “bulb” to blow the horn, then she grabs the “stick” to shift gears, and finally, she inserts the “hose” and yells “fill it up”! Zara
Before they started up the robot it reminded me of the ones in the Terminator but... after seeing that performance I can't take the robot seriously anymore.
Anileve
I heard that it's stunning! I would love to visit one day. It's one of the business capitals which seems to be completely removed from the rest of its nation.
Zartonk
I was just googling images of Dubai today. Talk about exponential growth.
