irlandahay Posted September 7, 2006 Report Share Posted September 7, 2006 I like metal music (dark tranquility, at the gates, in flames, arch enemy) probably my irish side i dont know many other armenians who like metal... i have recently come across a couple armenian metal bands tho, got my hopes up. there is SOAD but i mean heavier metal then that. heres a good one from yerevan www.ambehr.com theyr soooo cool, i ordered theyr albums and just received them, theyr really good! theres also hexena nd another band i forgot the name tho, is there any other armenian metal fan? or metal fan at all? I also heard that there is some band in Yerevan that started out covering Slayer. By the way, Daron Malakian of SOAD has a Norwegian band on his label called Satyricon. Check them out. The mainstream metal bands are a monotonous bore, the vocals have become complete gargling shrieks (there IS an art to screaming), their subject matter is pretty cliche and besides certain technichal fluidities, there is little songwriting. BTW Ire-hye, how do you like prog-metal? I am a Dream Theater fan myself. EDIT: Have any of you guys heard Probot? EDIT: Have any of you guys heard Probot? i guess, but there not all like that... ya iv heard of dream theater, they were my favourite band last year (well one of them at least) but i got bored. i got into heavier metal. i now listen sweedish melodic death metal (in flames, dark tranquility, and at the gates, check em out!) and my band is doing death metal,(i'm singer ) and ya, were gonna begin our first practice this wednesday actually. i used to be in A band. we did some metal, then they wanted to do emo, i said screw you im not doing emo! so i quit! no, whats probot?
