MURDER AS STRUGGLE

"The Fuehrer’s successors conquer Russian cities swifter than the Nazi troops in the autumn of 1941," one of Moscow’s newspapers gives alarm on occasion of the murder of 17 years old Armenian student Vahan Abrahamiants.

What strikes one in this heinous crime is its unspeakable impudence that is certainly the result of assurance of staying unpunished. The headlines of Russian papers evidence to it: "Student Slain In Front of A Dozen of People", "Killing and Leaving by Train", "Hitler Conquers Moscow" etc.

It’s merely unbelievable how the murderer could escape the police after stabbing the Armenian student to death at Pushkinskaya subway station - one of the central stations in Moscow – that was heavily guarded by the police for Easter celebrations. All tragedy is that people are being killed in Russia today for a darker skin and for narrower eyes.

One has an impression that the Russians, particularly lower orders, instinctively feel that something is happening to them, that they are losing their national identity, spiritual charge, moral ground and are turning into faceless and invertebrate creatures. And they turn to the most primitive most animal way of struggle…

I have heard that 1 out of 5 Russian women marries a Caucasian man. With the fabric of the Russian type cast deteriorating and with an increase in prejudice against the darker-complectioned "blackheads", it might mean problematic times for Russian-Armenians in the near future.

That's unbelievable and disgusting. How could the Russian police don't run after the murderer? They should be diligent in catching the murderer and bring it to the court of law.

The very sad part is that we have over a million Armenians living in Russia; I believe, and that is scary.

Lawyer of Killed Vahan Abramyants Denies Everyday Murder Version

/PanARMENIAN.Net/

Lawyer of the family of Vahan Abramyants, 17, killed in Moscow metro, denies the version of murder, based on everyday circumstances. ““We flatly deny the version of murder of Abramyants, based on everyday circumstances, as we believe the crime was committed on ethnic ground,” Simon Tsaturyan said at a news conference in Moscow. He reported that along with the killed young man’s father he met with Moscow metro Prosecutor, “we solved all formal matter and Vahan’s father was unconditionally recognized as aggrieved party.”

Tsaturyan also reported that the prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceeding according to part 2 of article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (murder committed as a member of a group of two and more persons), with qualifying signs of racial and national dislike. “However, it is not clear, why witnesses of the crime gave evidence in the militia and not at the prosecutor’s office,” Simon Tsaturyan said. He said he was sure the investigation conceals the video cassette with the record of the crime.

Characterizing the victim, V. Abramyants, Tsaturyan called him a well-bred, calm young person, «and he could never behave in the way, as some people tried to present he allegedly was,» reports Interfax.

I read that this wasn't a skinhead attack, and the two youths actually knew each other. Some even described them as "friends".

Russia, and the whole post-Soviet region is a mentally ill society. I don't even see what's the big deal with skinhead attackers particularly, there are also mafia hits, street robbers, etc... There is skinhead violence because there is societal violence.

I also heard that it might not be the skinheads, but their numbers are on a rise in Russia.

Suspect of Armenian Youth Murder Released

/PanARMENIAN.Net/

Denis Kulagin, the pupil of one of the Moscow schools, suspected of killing of an Armenian citizen, was released. According to a source in the law enforcement bodies, the schoolboy was released after the expiration of the 72-hour detainment term authorized earlier by the court. “According to the law, he had to be either articled or the detainment term had to be prolonged. Since the accusation was not produced, the boy was released,” the source said. At that the11-former remains one of the central suspects. Presently all the possible versions of the incident are being investigated, the murder through national hatred included.

Meanwhile, several Russian newspapers say the suspect, Denis Kulagin, 17, has not committed the crime. In the words of the schoolboy’s mother, she made him confess in the murder herself owing to threats of the inspectors. Besides, the instrument of the crime is not found – the knife, while the observation cameras did not shoot anything and the inspectors have only the confession of the minor, who was illegally interrogated for several hours without his mother’s or a lawyer’s presence. Besides, the fact that two other teenagers were wounded arouses doubts. They wounds were not serious but in the opinion of the Armenian family’s lawyer, this fully refutes the version of one single murderer.

To remind, April 22, 2006 near the Pushkinskaya subway station a fight took place. As result, a student of one of the Moscow institutes, Armenian by origin Vahan Abramyants was wounded with a knife and died. Immediately after this the fight participants escaped. A criminal case was initiated according to Article 105 (murder) of the RF Penal Code.
