iminhokis
very nice clip !!! here are the lyrics (you can find them on their website) OPEN WOUNDS (lyrics) Written by R-mean Verse 1: A bit of mystery lies in history's eyes/ Cuz in time the facts and the figures get twisted with lies/ The devil tried to kiss us goodnight/ But he hides/ That's how a proven fact is simply denied/ I am a victim – a victim of time/ Victimized by the victory of viciousness the system revised/ They say a century's passed – nothing can bring them to life/ I say our memories last – at least admit to your crimes/ I try to look these little kids in their eyes/ As they're watching their mother's demise/ She's cut – blood drips from her thighs/ She was pregnant – they're ripping her stomach – it's slit from the sides/ Just so they could guess on the sex of the kid that's inside/ They had us walking and walk in the blistering sun/ Sands of the deserts as far as our vision can run/ They had us walking in circles – walk till we starve/ Oh Lord, I hate ‘em! – Forgive me, it's wrong but I'm scarred/ They planted the seeds of hate in my heart – it keeps growing/ My heartbeat's slowing/ My heart just keeps hoping/ Cuz we'll never – ever!- give up on our cause/ Cuz we owe it to all the people we lost/ Chorus by Soseh (“Kilikia”) Verse 2: Refuse to give in – our wounds are dripping like bloody hell/ From brutal whippings to crucifixions with rusty nails/ But who will listen/ The truth is hidden/ Massacres and cruel killings/ To snatching our future kingdom and commonwealth/ But where is the promised help?/ They distance ‘em from it/ well,is this what you wanted?/ Man, it's just making me sick to my stomach/ Cuz Hitler has done it afterwards/ Following the Ottaman's example - can you handle me quoting this bastard's words?/ Cuz see in '39 this' how your friend spoke:/ “After all, who remembers Armenians today” – end quote/ Forgive and forget? – no/ History repeats – this leach is draining us – let go!/ This battle against hope/ We gather around/ We light our candles in crowds/ These tears land on the ground/ Each year standing so proud/ Together we holding banners and shout/ But it's spreading thru empty space that doesn't travel the sound? Nobody wants to hear us! The population just can't see thru the mess/ The way you treat one case determines what people'll do next/ Souls can't peacefully rest/ till the killer's secret's confessed/ Buried in our holy lands that we now don't even possess/ It's taken/ Pardon my phrases, I'm blatant/ But all these nations are shaking the arms of satan for the sake of armybases/ We're praying to God to make'em admit it – we're still hoping/ But they still won't and that's why these wounds are still open/ Chorus Chorus chante: ____________________________________ Giligia Yerpvor patsvin ternen houso Yev mer yerkren pakhda tsmer Tchgnagh yergirns mer Armenio Yerp payle hour kaghtrsig orer Yerp vor dzidzarn I puyn tarna Yerp vor dzarern haknin derev Tsangam dessnel zim Giligia Ashkhar vor ints e dour arev Hassag me ga mer ghenats metch Our amenayn ights gavardi Hassag me, our hokin I denth Hishadagatz hour garodi Horjam kenaris im tserdana Siroun dalov vertchin parev Yertam ninchel zim Giligia Ashkhar vor ints e dour arev
Takoush
I happen to have a powerful voice and love to sing the Giligia song and I do from time to time. It's too bad our voice doesn't come through the internet and hear each other out. Edited January 26, 2006 by Anahid Takouhi

Takoush
Is the Giligia song a well known song? Is it by another singer? Emil: The lyrics are from Rousinian. And yes it's a very well known song, especially sang by the Giligian Tem. By Tem, I mean the Giligian Parish that are situated in Lebanon, not the Echmiadzin. It has become their song. Being that I belong to that parish/Tem, I know it very well and love singing this song too. The melody is very pretty.
Arpa
Has Pope/King Aram prophesied yet the day when we will all go back to Antelias and rightfully claim our Armenian Republic of Lebanon?? Go to the thread Kilikia and survey the ridiculously nostalgic words, where by the way the "cedars of Lebanon" are also mentioned. No wonder we are in this messy pickle. With friends like Antelias, Ejmiatzin, Hnchak, Dashnak and Ramkavar who needs enemies!!! Edited January 26, 2006 by Arpa

Arpa
I know you don't go for it Arpa jan; but Emil asked a question so I answered him, that's all. Of course, you could have simply redirected Emil to the thread as I did, where the subject has been discussed in some detail. If you woud only take the time and trouble to see what has already been discussed here!!! But you felt compelld to lecture us with your definition of "true Armenian". "Whoever is not Dashnak, and nor subscribed to the See of Kilikia is not an Armenian/Ով որ դաշնակցական չէ Հայ չէ". I have news for you. I am not Dashnak, Hnchak or Ramgavar. You may have already gathered so far that I would not give an առնետի հետոյք to Kilikia or Ejmiatsin. Let us have a contest as to which of us is a more complete Armenian. And as long as we dwell on that nonsense of Kilikia and Ejmiatsin we will get no where. Please tell us which of your idols, Daniel V. or Siamanto belonged to which see. Read their works about Anahit. FYI, the capital of Armenia is not Antelias, Ejmiatsin, Glendale, Antelias, Beirut, Paris, Cairo or even Halep... It is YEREVAN Edited January 27, 2006 by Arpa
Takoush
Yes yes Arpa. We are all good Armenians here, be it Tashnak, Ramgavar or Henchaq; but the reason I didn't direct it to your post or link is because I have a lot of studying to do and I am a bit behind with my studies and I don't want to drop a subject. So I better study or else, Arpa. That's why I didn't read it or direct Emil to your fine works. Sorry, but I hope you understand. Anyway, we all know your dedication to this Forum and your knowledge and your good Armenianism. No one dares to doubt it. OK? And yes, I totally agree with you that YEREVAN is our beautiful capital and that's where we all look upon. 'Mer achqere Hayasdani yev Yerevani vera ge nayin havidyan' :) Edited January 27, 2006 by Anahid Takouhi
Takoush
One more thing Arpa, I don't agree to that saying that unless you are Tashnagtsagan then you're not that good of an Armenian. Look at you, you're not part of any party and yet you are a very strong rooted Armenian yourself. Most of the Armenians on this Forum are from Armenia and they don't belong to any diasporan gousagtsoutyuns, yet they are extremely strong rooted Armenians, almost all of them. You can't get better than that. And though my elders used to say that saying about Tashnagtsoutyun; but I don't believe any more about the above saying. Great many Armenians are good Armenians, and it entirely depends on the individual. That's what I became to believe in.
