I also posted this in the "Language" forum. I was unsure about a few lines (denoted with a ?), so feel free to post any comments and/or corrections as you see fit. Honestly, I don't think this song is as bad as some of you make it out to be.. if you heard some American rap group singing it, you wouldn't think twice about it.. but since it's an Armenian band, "oh dear God no!" How are Armenian teenage guys any different from other teenage guys in the world? Don't tell me this is the first time you've heard a song where women are portrayed as objects..

I wouldn't listen to an American rap group, nor would listen to "Hokis." Only the name "Hokis" would be telling enough as to understand what kind of tasteless crap it may produce.

 

And I would feel much more comfortable knowing that there are no "modern" Armenian musical bands, rather than they are of this type - I would expect that its music is much worse than the lyrics.

 

Addiitonally, our young people's obsession with such Capital Crap tells me how low our culture has fallen.

I think the translation of this song has to be deleted from this forum. Many kids and girls might visit the forum. If anyone interested in translation mail him or her. Moreover, the culture is falling because MJ, Aghmug and MosJan are sitting silently instead of deling this post, you are all in charge of it... don't sleep.

You raise a good point about deleting the lyrics here. My only comments/questions are:

 

1) Young children should not be web surfing without parental supervision, so I'm not worried about them. If an 6 or 7 year old is visiting whatever sites they want, there are bigger problems in that household than this song.

 

2) For kids that are a little older say, 11-15, do you think they're hearing the song anyway???

 

 

Not sure on this. Having the lyrics posted with most everyone here being disgusted (personally, I think the last 9 or 10 lines are horrible trash, but the rest is OK) is probably a GOOD thing for a teenager to see. They'll see that this sort of attitude and behavior are not acceptable.

 

I'll talk to the others and see.

There's no need for censoring these lyrics. I was, quite frankly, very surprised by the reaction of this group in response to the lyrics. Compared to some of the music these days, I find this song to be quite tame. If you're worried that 11 and 12 year olds will be corrupted by it, trust me; at 12 years old, hearing this stuff is nothing new.

I don't see what the big deal is. All younger adults/teens think about sex (yes, even armenian girls do Artur). These folks have decided to express it through music, which may or may not be of the highest quality...not sure since I haven't listened to it yet.

Second, there is no need for explaining what girls do and don't. And this does not mean that we should leave this messege in this forum.

 

It is not a big deal to delete it, because nobody really thinks of good about this translation... what is the problem? I mean is this post vital for our forum... don't think so... do young kids come to this forum... some might... is this what they should read in Armenian Forum? Not in Armenian one, for sure!

 

Show some respect to your nation and to the girls! And the idiot who sings this song needs to be hanged. Anyways, God is the judge for him!!!
