MosJan
Thanks for the link " The yellow, red, and green flag was adopted by the Armenians and used during World War I. Finally, seeing that the colors of Father Alishan were arbitrary, with no historic basis or value, the Government of the Independent Republic of Armenia selected the colors of the last period of the Rubenian Dynasty: red, blue and yellow, in which the yellow immediately was replaced by the orange, because it easily merged with the rest of the colors and presented a more pleasing composition. "This was the origin of the beautiful and glorious Armenian Tricolor which became the flag of the Independent Republic of Armenia." " thas all ??? just to have a more pleasing colors? we have a orange ??? ohhh boyyy
MiG-35
Well, in Simon Vracian’s book we read that the flag was accepted by the parliament after some debates, and that that selection of colors (as well as their order) was NOT a result of a very detailed consideration there. At that moment they had too many other things to do… In any case, or flag looks OK, although I personally would prefer a graphical solution including a CROSS… so that even the most stupid Europeans or Americans at once figure out that it is the flag of a Christian nation. kakachik77
I am going to be quite honest, I can't stand the current Armenian flag colors, that ORANGE ....oh my god! I would gladly switch to our ancient purple with the cross in the middle flag. After all, what is a more important symbol for Armenians - it's Christian identity or apricot??? Vanetsi
Apricot is in our current flag. The official colors of our flag are the following: red, blue and "apricot-bronze." This final color is a representation of our culture and history--being the first metallurgists and living in the area where apricots are cultivated. Arpa
Who was it? Was it Shiraz, who when a Turk had commented that Armenians have the symbol of Masis/Ararat on every official symbol including the Coat of Arms, saying that how dare we since Ararat is not even in Armenia or an Armenian mountain. He had answered thus; "You have the moon on your flag, something you don't own and never will, but Ararat is ours and it will ours soon". Just to spite them we should place the Symbol of Masis on our flag. KARMIR ԿԱՐՄԻՐ KAPUYT ԿԱՊՈՅՏ TSIRANI ԾԻՐԱՆԻ Observe the 4th cartoon here; The caption reads, (Masis saying to Aragats); Little Brother I will soon join you in the shurj-par. http://www.asbarez.com/cartoons/2005/05jun-ca.htm Edited September 10, 2005 by Arpa
