TimeForChange
Hey Armin, First of all, if you are going to live in Lebanon, chances are that you will need to speak Western Armenian (not Eastern), so start with Western before learning Eastern... I guess the best place for you to learn would be in Lebanon, because you will have more people to talk with. I might be able to help you. I rarely speak Armenian (unfortunately) , but I can teach you whatever I know, because I understand what you're going through...Let me know if you're interested... REMcrazy
I'm so so sorry to vanish like this, people. But I had a very difficult period. But now I'm back again and I'm keen more than ever to learn Armenian. I kinda started to be familiar with the figures and how they are pronounced but I can't do every thing on my own, I guess. so Dave, I'll be very thankful if you could help me.. Arpa
Maralik, did you know that there is a town in Armenia named after you? It is on the main highway to Gyumri, opposite Ani. well he's going to Lebanon...and that's just the way it is...deal with it style_images/master/snapback.png You seem to be familiar with the culture of Lebanon, I said “culture of Lebanon", and not Lebanese Culture, since, to me ; Why do those idiots who pride themselves to be Canaanite Phoenicians speak and write in Arabic? You say: When in Lebanon(Rome) do as the Lebanese(Romans) do? We will. If you are familiar with that local culture you will also know that the Lebanese( not the TurkArmenians) would not only pronounce it as “barew” they would also write it so, as there is neither a P or a V in the Arabic/Semitic script. You may also note that, when listening closely to an Arabic speaking person would label this dialogue as “brobakanda”, not only because there is no P in their script, there neither is G, except in the case of Egyptians who pronounce their J’s as G (Consider Gamal AbdelNasser v Jamal, and jGamal=camel), and those stupid Persians who had to go through idiotic contortions, modifying the Arabic K to produce the sound of G. The Mesropian Alphabet is so much more suited to their IE language, but that is another story. Not only in Lebanon but in every-armenia the word is not only “barev” but, look above, it is “BareW”. We spell it Ben Ayb Re E and Hyun, regardless of the new fangled Soviet orthography that uses the letter Ve at the end, we still end it with hyun, which, as discussed previously is the equivalent of the English W. Please remove yourself from Lebanon and TutrkArmenia. Let us go back to the village od Mahstots where Mesrop’s remains are entombed and get back to genuine traditional Armenian phonology. It is “BAREW/V”, Not “parev”. That is a Jewish Kosher company. One of many; http://www.thefreedictionary.com/pareve Hava na gila....

iminhokis
PareV REMcrazy, when are you going back, and what are you going to do in Leb? Studies? Work? I guess the easiest will be to take some Armenian lessons and then, among all the armenians,- who speak Armenian with each other- will help you to practise. A few days will be enough and you will learn to say Parev. By the way, there was a concert (REM) in Lebanon this summer
