Zartonk
This one is soley for anyone who finds themselves out of love with the dominant modern music listened to by Armenians. (cough *Rabiz* cough)... www.ArmInRock.am/ For the real experience, check out the mp3s. .....They are not samples!
Zartonk
Now this one, you might have trouble with if you are not "Slavakhos". It is in Russian, but I managed to translate it on a program oline. Their "armanye" list is the most complete collection of Armenian bands or Armenian members of other bands that I know of. Who, afterall, would have guessed that we have somebody shredding it in Uzbakistan?! www.RockAr.narod.ru/ "Krematorium" sounds like they're quite popular in Russia. Anyone familiar? By the way, I really want to know about any underground or garage bands that are active but might not be in the media at all. There is a lot like this in the Diaspora. Anyone know of any? gamavor
I can't believe my ears! Check out Bambir2. Those of you who understand Bulgarian, there is a popular phrase in the song "Pztik Papan".
Zartonk
You're welcome! Anything for you. Something this good had to be shared. What did you think of ARTSRUNI? Edited May 16, 2005 by Zartonk
Sasun
Yeah, I like Bambir (apparently Bambir2 ?). So it looks like there was an old Bambir according to the rock website? Anyway, these young Bambir's are great and professional, I have no complaint about that. The only thing is they are the Armenian version of Jethro Tull and have copied much of their style and "Armenianized". I feel the same way about Kingdom Come copying from Led Zeppeling (except these guys don't admit it).
gamavor
What did you think of ARTSRUNI? Artsruni were mentioned in this Forum many times. Actually Vahan Artstruni has become internationally acclaimed. Honestly, I like more the second album "Ten Revelations". Of course 'Cruzaid' paved the way for his popularity. I like the design of the cover! http://www.arminrock.am/images/mp3/artsruni_b.jpg What do you think is the thing in the middle of the Cross? A fan, a propeller, or meat grinding tool? Or maybe all in one! Edited May 18, 2005 by gamavor
kakachik77
my brother is one of the music producers of Bambir
Zartonk
Well the old Bambir is the one thats a big deal, really. As far as the "Armenianization" goes, I honestly rather hear Zep influenced Armenian melodies than something that has no Armenian nature to it. Rock is a strong thing. It can, if done right, reintroduce a lot of young people to their cultural identity. Speaking of the Cruzaid design, Im wondering if you've noticed the aydzagir design in the very center of the fan/propeller/meat grinder(!) ? It's nice.
