Accelerated
May 13, 2005 - 2:50PM An impotent Italian who kept his problem a secret from his wife until after their wedding must pay her damages. Italy's Supreme Court has ruled he eroded her right to have a family. The woman, identified by the Italian media as Cristina S, was quick to get her marriage annulled in the 1990s after learning to her horror that her husband could not consummate it. She then demanded damages, saying she had been robbed of her "right to sexuality" and the promise of a family. Despite losing legal battles in lower courts, she kept appealing, and finally the Supreme Court found in her favour. "Her fundamental right (was) eroded to fully realise a family, as a woman and a wife, and eventually as a mother," according to excerpts from the court ruling published in Italian newspapers today. The amount of damages will be settled by a lower court in Sicily, where the unhappy couple were married. Reuters

phantom22
Everyone should be truthful to their prospective mates. I should sue my former wife also, who lied to me claiming she wanted children before we got married and then secretly aborted herself every time she got pregnant. Men should have the same rights as women.

phantom22
When I suggested that I to work overtime to make it possible for her to attend medical school, she claimed that I wanted her to quit her job so that I could keep her under "under my thumb." The vibrant marital sex life ceased as the arguments got louder.
Stormig
"Kept his problem a secret" - what if the poor sod didn't even know he had a problem? Wasn't it also an Italian court who ruled out charges of rape for a lady who had been in jeans?
