I hope not.... we have to support (monetarily) all things Armenian made - including music
vava
On that note - a while ago Niari had provided me with A LOT of Armenian MP3s - mostly stuff I hadn't even heard of... I've had to hunt a bit, but I've managed to find actual CDs by the some of the same artists, and I must say it's certainly enhanced my listening pleasure. I keep on putting off the purchases. But this one I will definitely buy this week: http://www.narek-store.com/shop/SearchResu...exid=3PPYJDP63G This cd is the definition of "hardcore." . Artsakh
So elated that you never bothered to purchase perhaps? I hope not.... we have to support (monetarily) all things Armenian made - including music style_images/master/snapback.png Very well said, except that its not "including music", but especially music. Music is a powerful weapon in preserving language and ispiring patriotism. We must support all our Artists by buying their cd's. Afterall, these people make their money, their living by singing. If you don't go to their concert, or buy their cd, they will go out of business and will no longer sing. Who does this hurt? It hurts Armenian culture and language. In order to preserve Armenian language and culture, you must support our artists. Buy their cd's. Once a month buy a stinking 15 dollar cd and pleasure your ears. Is that too much to ask for? Harut
he does have good songs, but most of them are so arrogantly along party lines that they make me sick...
hayemyes
why arrogantly?
Harut
because to me, he basically says dashnaktsutyun is the savior of all armenians, and if you're not dashnaktsakan you're coward and you suck...
Harut
when i listen his songs, i feel like they are songs about a distant land called republic of dashnaktsutyun, where people called dashnaks live... they speak dashnakeren and practice dashnakism... good songs, but too much exclusivity, imo... hayemyes
i'm not particularly into one particular party...but i admit the fact that dashnaktsutyun has done sooo much for our republic...and he basically sings about heroes who were part of that party, and he himself being one it is not surprising...after all a big proportion of the heroes who fought back then and later on were partisans or members of the party...besides he really believes in what he says...he was even imprisoned for seeking revenge against turkish diplomats
