First of all I thank everyone here for your condolences of my fathers passing away. My family and I appreciated your support and condolences.

I finally got around building my site. I tried to keep it as simple as possible. Let me know what you think. Your inputs are appreciated

Looks good Armat. I would suggest you take a look at Web Album Generator instead of using photoshop.

The photoshop templates can be made to look much better with a bit of tweaking (for example, I would change their image title font sizes to something a bit smaller) but that program above does a great job right away. Plus it will let you add a descriptive caption for each image. You can also save the gallery to come back and add/make changes which will make future improvements very easy.

If you want to see an exmple of a gallery made by Album Generator, check this out.

I have also used photoshop but then edit the index files it generates to make them look like this. The main thing I change is the font size and text spacing under each image to make it more compact and tight looking. Then again, it's all about artistic taste :)

Oh and don't you want your name to stick out on the first page? It's barely visible with the chosen color and the background. Maybe make it white?

Same goes for the links on the bottom of the page. You make want to make the buttons in photoshop as images with their own background? How about centering them?

Just a couple of suggestions.

I LOVE the artwork Rubo jan! :)

Agreed with Sip about the links not being easily visible. And perhaps to center the image on the homepage instead of tiling it - that way people with various screen resolutions will see more or less the same thing. Good luck, and great job!

Speaking of Web Album generators - I've used JAlbum with great results (IMO). It's easy to use, comes with some built-in skins/templates, which you can modify yourself for pretty much unlimited design freedom. The best part is that it's free! :) There's a tutorial on the site if you need some basic info - but I found it pretty intuitive...

Great feedback guys. The image centering I honestly don't know it.Dreamweaver does not give me a option or I missed it.I like that idea and for links being stronger color or bolder can be done easily.I like the links having different images but I wanted to keep the focus on the main center of the page.Thanks though.

Sip I will twick the gallery more but not untill I post new works which then I can overall everything.

How did you know I was using photoshop?

First off, main page looks much better!

In your case, I knew it was photoshop just from the look. But if you look inside the HTML files it generates (or if you do view source from Internet Explorer), you'll see this:

<HTML>
    <HEAD>
 <TITLE>Adobe Photoshop 6.0 Web Photo Gallery</TITLE>
 <META name="generator" content="Adobe Photoshop(R) 6.0 Web Photo Gallery">
 <META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    </HEAD>
...

By the way, you may find it easier just to mess with HTML sometimes directly as opposed to using Dreamweaver or other programs. The tags in html are very similar to what you would use for posting here. for bold, for italic,

text
to do centering, etc. Edited by Sip

Where is says "" at the top of each HTML file, you should change and put your own title. That's the text that shows up at the top of the window in the browser (title bar). You can edit the HTML file using any text editor such as notepad. At first, maybe copy it to a backup location until you get the hang of what to change and what not to change. <img alt=":)" src="https://hyeforum.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png">

Rubo jan. Love the artwork. The site looks good. we need to add some info about you on the site. Also if you have a price list page that may be of assistance to you and the viewers(that is if you plan to sell any of them) also a "contact me" page would be nice too.

Azat jan,I do have a contact link and statement which says briefly about me but you are right perhaps I should list the prices as well.

Can anyone figure on the code in home page how I can change the tiled to centered background image.

Here is the code

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

nevermine I fixed it :)

Ruben, Edward,

I really feel sorry for your loss. May his Spirit and Legacy survive through you and his descendants.

Rubo jan...if you have a price list page that may be of assistance to you and the viewers(that is if you plan to sell any of them)

It would be nice to know the price!

Also, higher resolution and/or larger format scans/pictures would be appreciated. I have tried to zoom some of them and the resolution was inadequate! That is important for potential buyers!

I would use a different color for the arrows and icons for "Home" and "Gallery." Of course, centered images are preferable!

I would space the thumbnails and use different font for "page 1 of 2" etc. etc.

Last but not least, I would make sure that search engines will index the Home page in different categories: the goal is to increase the number of hits!

Good Luck!
