Anileve
Some people have a fetish where they love having sex with amputees, who are otherwise normal citizens paying taxes to Bush and supporting our troops and saying "God Bless America". style_images/master/snapback.png You could have stopped at "normal citizens." "Normal" doesn't exist and in addition is a very subjective matter. Our inability to comprehend something automatically classifies it as abnormal and we instantly diagnose it with “dysfunctional” as if we are the authority on the epitome of normality. Armen
Unrealistic scenarios without stimulant effects and a very cheesy performance. style_images/master/snapback.png When you actually try some of that "realistic" stuff they present as "pleasant positions" in harcore porn I will bring you some oranges and chocolate to the hospital. gevo27
... I do believe people can learn to improve their intimate relations from porn, ... style_images/master/snapback.png i have heard this a lot.. never made sense to me.. cant you be good and do interesting things, be imaginative on your own? Porn IS degrading.. thats why you dont watch it with the family... well assuming that you dont watch it with the family.. lol..(thats not the main reasons i beleive porn is degrading though, it would be out of topic here ) Edited January 6, 2005 by gevo27

Nakharar
Well, Anoushik - there's variety among consenting adults! Some people choose to engage in that sort of thing with people they know and trust, their "F-buddies," and others engage in it with people they don't know, just like some can have endless one-night stands, only with more people. I never cease to be amazed with some of the stuff I hear going around me. Overall I think it's like drugs and not crazed libido as some would dread to think, as people like to experiment and want to experience new things, only it doesn't have adverse health effects. And I find that people who are more never-get-out-of-the-city type are more lenient toward this sort of thing. Just my observation. style_images/master/snapback.png Yeah it's becoming more of a phenomenon in rich and developed countries.

And then, I'm not sure I follow why it is more degrading. style_images/master/snapback.png She's saying that softcore porn teaches people wrong sex. I agree with her. But I also think that contemporary hardcore porn does the same (teaches wrong sex). Maybe 70s porn is the one to watch Anyway, to copy what they do now you need some realy good acrobatic skills, both men and women.
allarmeniangirl
He has a point, so do I. What do you think, are there some cases of women being psychologically healthy and enjoying such extreme forms of sexual endeavors? Domination doesn’t count, since it’s hardly based on completely disrespecting a human body without both parties agreement. I don’t know, I am puzzled. And I hope this post will not be removed. style_images/master/snapback.png There are people who enjoy pain and in my opinion these people need counseling because it is not healthy. Most cases of women who go through this type of abuse in porn are young women who need money fast. I've seen some shows about porn and heard girls say why they go into it, and believe it or not, most replied with something like this, "I was left alone and I got tired of crying. I wasn't feeling anything. I liked watching the feel of porn and I wanted to feel something." That sounds to me like serious psychlogical help is needed. Yes, girls sign a contract but we should consider the thoughts and emotions they have for signing the contract. It is sad.
Anoushik
As for soft porn, I think it's even more degrading than hard core porn. style_images/master/snapback.png What's the difference between soft porn and hard core porn and why is soft porn more degrading? Siamanto
It's not that interesting really, I just want to educate myself since this discussion is continuing style_images/master/snapback.png "Educate" yourself??? To answer that question, I suggest that you watch one or two. As for myself, I would describe - at least - 95+ of porn movies as follows: 1- Mediocre picture and sound quality 2- Mediocre Music tracks 3- Simplistic plots reflecting poor imagination 4- Almost ugly or unappealing and vulgar women (I wonder how they would make me dream!) 5- Mediocre film editing 6- Poor dialogues 7- etc. etc. The remaining few being qualified as "erotic!" Personally, I find - for instance - an afternoon - on a warm sunny day - in East Village or Soho; or a Saturday night in Alphabet City (all neighborhoods in Manhattan) a far superior erotic and sensual experience or as I say: "Higher quality of Eye Vitamin!" What do you think, are there some cases of women being psychologically healthy and enjoying such extreme forms of sexual endeavors? style_images/master/snapback.png Nature is infinitely more rich than the Human Imagination and Reality infinitely more "powerful" than the Human Understanding: so anything may exist! ("Powerful" as defined in formal Mathematical Systems.) In other words - to please Sasun: Can the Human Understanding/Imagination comprehend/visualize the richness and immensity of God? According to the above, my answer would be: NO! Edited January 7, 2005 by Siamanto

Armen
Ok here is my take. All humans have the smiliar package of emotions. And by this I mean each one of us had that intangiable mechanism that make us to like pain. If we didn't have that mechanism we couldn't have the necessary "tools" to deal with an outer attack or intrusion or influence while simultaneuosly cognising it. For example animals don't like pain. And this limits their ability to cognise. This emotion (pain liking) accelerates (is damaged) for this or that reason. For example if you use a cars gas and brakes violently the mechanism gets damaged. Similarly, if your "pain liking" emotion gets damaged, you need more pain to cognise something, or you cannot withstand pain anytime in any amount. Anileve
Don't suck up, the damage is done, it's too late. By the way, a very interesting outlook, as is the article. angel4hope
wow thats really mind boggling eve... I would have to say that i surely agree with you that this seems to be abusive and that women who claim that they enjoy such treatment do indeed have some sort od psychological abnormalities or what not. I know there are freaky people out there, for example, those who are into S&M and so forth, and indeed they are psychologically unstable and abnormal... There is an extent to which certainthins can be enjoyable moderately- although I find it hard to believe that pain, in any sort of way, shape or form can be pleasurable. I just think that there are some "messed-up" people out there and that anything is possible, but I would have to also sya that those sorts of people have either been abused in the past and are used to such abusive behaviorto the extent that they cannto distinguish between plasure and pain, or such people have severe neurobiological problems with the wiring of their pain and pleasure centers of their brains- i see soem sort of abnormality- i will definately research more upon the subject... sounds lke a good topic for my upcoming research assignment ... Armen
Don't suck up, the damage is done, it's too late. I am sure there is a way to treat it. However, as many have noticed THE all powerful DEMAND prevents it. By the way, a very interesting outlook, as is the article. I find it terrifying, painful to read due to some content, but I am captivated and can't stop reading. Is that what you mean? style_images/master/snapback.png Yes, but brain pain is very different from emotional pain. The pain of brain makes you think and nothing else. Thus we have to seperate the pain that our brain gets from the emotional one.

When the mind is disturbed so is the body. Hence what I was saying regarding the lifestyle. Some people inadvertantly enjoy mental abuse, thus procastination, mentally abusive relationships and cramming for tests flourish.
