Consequently, all this was not merely an attempt of staging a coup d¡¯¨¦tat and a ¡®colored¡¯ revolution, but rather, a premeditated attempt of inciting a civil war and fratricide, which is more dangerous. In this respect, it is important to consider and clearly imagine not only the March 1 tragedy, but also the possible worst consequences that might have resulted therefrom. Imagine for a moment that at least a battalion or a platoon could have succumbed to the provocation and taken sides with the rioters. A real battle among the servicemen would have started in the center of Yerevan. In that case, the number of the victims would have been greater. This kind of actions provoked by Ter-Petrosyan and his team demonstrate a highest degree of irresponsibility, especially if we consider the preparations of Azerbaijan and the existence of Turkey standing behind its back.¡± ¡°Do you think Armenia and its population were endangered on both the internal and external fronts?¡± ¡°Naturally, Ilham Aliev would have taken advantage of the situation and issued an order for launching a large-scale attack. All this might have led to the loss of Artsakh and Syunik and finally brought about the loss of the whole country. Therefore, it is necessary to realize that on March 1-2the issue of the Armenian statehood was on the table. After all this, it is absurd to consider the Armenian Pan-National Movement as opposition. I hope the state will demonstrate enough political will to make an adequate legal assessment on what happened. It is also necessary to make a proper analysis on the pre- and post-election stages preceding the March 1 events. L. Ter-Petrosyan and his team had been making preparations to stage a coup d¡¯¨¦tat and incite a civil war under the auspices of alien forces before the 2008 presidential elections. For 10 years continuously, the press supporting the Armenian Pan-National Movement was busy preparing the ¡°March 1¡± events. Humbling the national values and dignity, blunting the people¡¯s fear for the Azerbaijani-Turkish hazard, inventing and extending the artificial partition between the people of Armenia and Artsax, they were ruining the foundations of Armenia¡¯s security in a consistent manner. It is necessary to confess that to a certain extent, the authorities are also to blame for the problems mentioned above. As to the relevant bodies, they were either unwatchful or closed their eyes both to the information-psychological war waged against the Armenian statehood from inside and the organized violent activities financed and directed from abroad.¡± ¡°Taking a retrospective glance, what possibilities can you specify for preventing what happened?¡± ¡°After a ten-year preparatory work, Ter-Petrosyan returned to the political arena and declared of his intention to stage a revolution. When, for several months continuously, the presidential candidate calls the country¡¯s President a ¡®criminal¡¯ and accuses him of committing the gravest crimes while speaking in the demonstrations or appearing on air, and does not submit the facts available to him to the instances of justice, considers the Republic of Armenia a ¡®state of chieftains¡¯, does not admit the state institutions and all the legal instances, it¡¯s more than clear that he is preparing for a subversion, revolution, disorders and terror, rather than elections.¡± Declaring the top figures of the state criminals and not submitting the supporting facts to the relevant legal instances is nothing more than an initiative of self-criticism and a call for terror. This is what Ter-Petrosyan is doing. The authorities are to blame because back in autumn, they didn¡¯t prevent Ter-Petrosyan¡¯s obviously illegal and revolutionary steps; they didn¡¯t call him to the court and didn¡¯t demand accountability. In the rally organized on February 27, he already announced, ¡°Our current movement is a bourgeois-democratic revolution¡±. And the authorities again did not prevent his activity, hoping mistakenly that everything would be settled automatically. After the February 19 elections, it also became clear that L. Ter-Petrosyan had been engaged in subversive activity for a long time, and such activity extended even to the force structures, including the Armenian Army, and he managed to recruit at least one influential military official. In the February 27 rally, Ter-Petrosyan also made a false and provocative statement that, ¡°the overwhelming majority of the law enforcement agencies and servicemen have taken sides with the opposition.¡± His activities had taken an extremely dangerous course, posing a threat to Armenia¡¯s national security. And its possible consequences might have been disastrous as they might have led to §Ñ cleavage, an armed confrontation and unjustified fratricide clashes inside the Army. And all this would have happened in conditions of the real threat of Azerbaijan¡¯s large-scale invasion. Deliberately ignoring the external danger before March 1, he was striving for a civil war which can have no justification under any circumstances. Fortunately, the authorities managed to finally neutralize the danger of the program aimed at inciting clashes, subversion and a civil war.¡± ¡°And why wasn¡¯t all this averted much earlier?¡± ¡°The corrupt phenomena accumulated in our public-political life, i.e. the lack of informational protection, the universal corruption, the clan system, the increased social injustice, the ridiculous human resource policy, the mass betrayal of national values and culture etc., became a hindrance. But today, people who never expressed a political attitude have suddenly become ¡®revolutionaries¡¯ and want to solve the most complex problems inside the country at one blow, confusing the cause-effect relationship and succession of events, mixing their past, present and future activities, burying Armenia¡¯s strategic vulnerability in total oblivion,. It is necessary to realize that the solution of these problems will require a long-term and painstaking work.¡±

I heard that because people do not carry any identification with them like we do in US, they take people around the area to get their finger prints at the police station and then release them. I guess there were number of injured civilians on March 2nd who ended up in the hospitals and ran away later on because they were scared that they were going to be charged for participating at the LTP rally, so they ran away from the hospitals....obviously they had no identifications with them, so the government is getting many people finger printed on the streets to identify them if March 1st ever occurs again. I also heard that they're only doing it in that area because that's the area where many gather...they don't do it all across the city.

Well that's a relief for me! It was going to be late for me to find anything else anyways. Something I was thinking about before...what are the chances that Armenians will hit the oil pipeline that's running close to the area just in case a war breaks out and it seems that this is where all this is leading to. Any thoughts of where all this will lead to? If Armenia fights the same way as during early 1990s and pushes the enemy further...how far can we go? Is there a chance that this time Nakhichevan might be taken over intentionally if the Azeri side starts to loose? I hope I'm not jumping forward with this, but these events might easily happen in a right situation. What if we push the enemy further...further than where the oil pipeline is located and the Azeri side looses again....does this mean that the portion of the oil pipeline that's running through the newly Armenian controlled territories will benefit us in a way that the BP has to pay us for letting the pipeline run through our controlled territories or because the oil pipeline isn't running in the Armenian legal territoriy, then nothing will be paid to us? If Armenia takes over Nakhichevan, what are the chances of Turkey interfering? I still doubt the Turks will raise a finger because of the Russian bases that are station on the Turkish-Armenian border. I've been to the border myself many years ago and most soldiers at the border (across Ani ruins) were Russian. Finally, if Armenia wins the war and gains more territory, will this be really the end of the war like Oskanian was saying? Wouldn't the same scenario go into circles every 10-15 years? I'm wonder what the reaction of the BP will be when a war breaks out...how much pressure Azerbaijan will get as a result.

I read an article before, which I will try to find again, which stated that Hilary will be a more desirable candidate to win the Democratic primaries because she's not as tough as Obama, so the chances of McCain getting elected as the new president will be higher than if it was Obama who won the primaries.
