  1. So where is he going to reply to these questions? On-line or on TV? If it's on TV then how will we ever know which questions he asnwered?
  2. Thanks for the info. Approximately when will the tickets go on sale?
  3. I agree. Just imagine if the government took care of the rioters the next day! Can you imagine what LTP people would have been saying about the RoA? They would probably accuse the government of oppression, lack of political freedom, discrimination of some kind etc, etc. I think RK did not want to end the riots the next day knowing that all the human watch organizations and other western political institutions would have accused Armenia of human rights and freedom violations. I certainly do not think that the whole riot was staged by RoA because the aftermath was an embarrassment and lowered Armenia's image around the world, so why would the current government want that lowered imagine around the world, especially when SS is about to become the president himself, so it's not like both leaders were planning to go away fro good! If they wanted to stage the attacks and the killings just to hunt down the 'bad guys" and have a reason to throw them into jail...trust me the government can easily find reasons to throw them into jail without lowering Armenia's imagine like this around the world and causing this situation in the country. They could have easily accused those few with tax evasions and murders, among other things of course. No one is that stupid to cause all this just to throw few people in jail when it can find enough evidence to do that without property destruction or human casualties in peaceful republic.
  4. They should start keeping their Jewish nose out of our business. Enough is enough! It's very annoying, especially when we do not give a damn about them and their own affairs. Did they already resolve all of their problems, so they have moved on to us and started teaching us about our own history? Perhaps they're jealouse of not having their own collective history until the late 1800s! I am not even going back to 2,000 years because there's lots of things disputed about the Israeli ancient hsitory...Judea or whatever it was called back then. I think that Egypt had no records of the Jews (including the Jewish exudus to & expulsion from Egypt), so they should examine their own falsified history. This is why it's so annoying that they constantly keep butting in. My frustration also comes with the fact that the US had no one else to name as the head of the Caucasus region for the State Department, but a Jewish Matthew Bryza with a Turkish wife, who clearly tried to embarrass and put down the Armenian Geovrnments' actions of March 1st. This also shows you who he works for and who he is trying to make look bad...Armenia of course. Can Armenia legally claim that it wants Matthew Bryza replaced otherwise it will not cooperate until he is replaced? Would that be a an extreme measure to take?
  5. Maybe this was the article I was talking about....BUT I assumed that he spoke one-sided about NK conflict though. ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY COMMENT ON MATT BRYZA’S STATEMENTS YEREVAN, MARCH 12, ARMENPRESS: “We’re astonished that even after his visit to Yerevan, after meeting with and hearing from various official and unofficial sources, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matt Bryza could make such arbitrary statements,” Tigran Balayan, head of the foreign ministry’s press division, said according to a press release forwarded to Armenpress in comments on Bryza’s statement regarding the latest developments in Armenia. “Assigning such one-sided blame is unfounded and not helpful. The number of wounded law enforcement officers (108) -- 43 of them wounded by firearms and hand-grenades -- clearly demonstrates that rioters were in possession of firearms and explosives. That coincides with the operative information of law enforcement agencies which had informed the public about all this, days before the events of March 1. In that case, labeling the reaction of the government as “a crackdown on opposition protests”, or qualifying it as “harsh and brutal” is incorrect. This was not at all an attack by policemen on civilians,” he said. According to him, the violence of March 1 is indeed of great concern to all of us in Armenia, including and foremost, the government, which believes it is responsible for the maintenance of public order and safety. He said it attempted to do so, exercising restraint, but as law enforcement bodies had earlier cautioned, turned into a clash between officers and demonstrators. With eight people dead (including one policeman) and dozens injured (many from law enforcement), there is no doubt that this was serious violence, and indeed deplorable, as Mr. Bryza says. “Armenia’s challenge, now, 10 days after that disastrous day, is to fully explore and understand what happened and find ways to move forward together. The international community’s focus should be to encourage all involved to take responsibility for the damage to the fabric of our society and to look for inclusive ways to move forward. Ill-informed statements can and do contribute to an escalation of political tension.’
  6. Hellektor, I heard that Matthew Bryza have spoken kind of aggressively against Armenia in one of his interview before, but I can not seem to find the article on-line. I wanted to know if you have any idea which article I am talking about? If this is indeed true, why can not Armenia ask for a replacement? Isn't it kind of ironic that not only he's Jewish, has a Jewish wife, but also he's not even neutral in his job and speaks of one side negatively? It is troubling in my opinion and I think that the Armenian government should ask the OSCE & the State Department for a replacement immediately! I do not understand why they have mediators and the middlemen in these type of situations because what has the middleman done for resolving the NK situation so far? I mean nothing has changed (good for us) and nothing will change unless there's a war just like Aliev has stated, so why are these middemen trying to do by butting in? If they succeeded in something, I would say alright they are doing something...whether it's hurting Armenia or hurting Azerbaijan during the process, but it's neither here or there. And what are they trying to pursue by bringing a pro-Turkish/Jewish guy to work as the mediator? As if he's going to tell Armenia just to give up the lands and as if Armenia will do just that! Is he a tool for the Jewish and Turkish forces to make Armenia look bad through Matthew Bryza.... while he trying to present the Armenian side as an aggressor just like in that article I was asking you about?
  7. I do not know exactly how many Armenian channels there are in LA, but I do watch two on-line sometimes. One is Horizon and the other one is ARTN. So I am kind of limited when it comes to Armenian television. That's why I only mentioned Horizon
  8. I accidentally bumped into it few days ago. I'll try to find it to post it here. If you don't want to wait, you can also find it read and discussed about in louysworld.com Stephan (can't remember hsi last name sorry) read it adn talks about the whole thing himself. If you do decide to hear about it on louysworld.com before I find it again, click under March 8th video to hear about it. Hope this helps. http://www.louysworld.com/
  9. You really think that? I don't know if the same goes for horizon though. I mean I could be wrong, but the few talk shows I have watched after the March 1st events seemed RK & SS sided. I didn't sense any pro LTP in them. Maybe it's just Horizon becasue it is controlled by Dahsnaks and the Dashnak party was banned by LTP in early 1990s in Armenia when LTP was the president. Maybe that is why Horizon is the only TV channel that is not pro LTP. Again, maybe it's just the two talks shows I watched few times that were against LTP. I do agree that each channel is one sided and there's no neutrality. But what I witnessed today was beyond craziness! I still feel bad for that Persian-Armenian TV host when he was talking about completely different topic Perhaps it is the crazy Hayatantsi caller who was paid to call and embarrass Horizon (as pro RK & SS) like that and call the poor host a liar by saying that he's paid by RK & SS to promote housing development in Armenia in order to take the homes away from them later on. I won't be surprised if that's the case because not only the call sounded kind of out of the blue without having any relavance to what was discussed in the show, but the whole call was kind of strange and full of vengence. That's funny what you said about your mom! Sorry that she wtinessed that as a caller.
  10. It's interesting that you mentioned Armen Ayvazyan's recent article about LTP hidden agenda and as to why he went to the Constitutional Court in the first place. What Armen Ayvazyan proposed is something that very few Armenians would have even guessed. It never crossed my mind until I read the article. I was just watching Horizon TV and they had a Persian-Armenian TV host talking about investing in Armenia through real estate purchase in the American style communities outside of Yerevan. The whole time he was only speaking about investment in Armenia and economic development....WELL at the last moment he got a call from Hayastanti Armenian who basically yelled at him...called him a LIAR among other things...All he was saying is that how the TV host was laying about the prices of the homes in those communities... he said that you build the homes for pennies and you lie to the Armenian Diaspora by selling them for $150,000 and making a huge profit! Then he claimed that he can build better American style homes for only $30,000 Yeah..... Not only that but that idiot started saying that the TV host is paid by SS & RK to lie to people...he said that you guys make Diaspora Armenians buy homes in Armenia, then you take their homes away from them! HA HA HA I felt so sorry for the show host because all he was doing was talking about investment in Armenia and encouraging people to purchase homes in Armenia... I have to say that the Hayastantsi caller was a moron because you will never ever be able to build a similar home that of Vahagni community for only $30,000....what was he smoking anyways? We have a 3 bedroom apartment in Armenia that is worth $150,000-200,000 today, so how can you build a big house in Armenia for only $30,000.... The TV host was very polite and simply told him that if he can build similar or better homes for only $30,000 what is he doing in US? He told him to go back to Armenia and built $30,000 huge houses and sell it for $150,000 himself if he can! The reason why I am saying this is because the divide and rule tactic is also evident in talk shows in LA. So now if we speak about housing and investment in Armenia...encouraging it… we're all paid by RK & SS? I am amazed on how some people think! But the caller was extremely rude and the whole time called the show host a liar. Not only that but he even asked the TV show host why they want to arrest Khachatur Sukiassian who is also a businessman! I guess he forgot to mention that the same Khachatur Sukiasian hasn't paid his taxes for ages and he came to power and into the business world the same way as Vano...they're all different apples fallen of from the same tree. As if the TV host issued an arrest warrant himself from LA. When will people stop embarrassing themselves, especially on TV shows? I tune in once in while to hear what some people say on TV and most of them simply embarrass themselves on TV.
  11. I would have to ask you to change the subject here because you're being ignorant with the above comments. LTP tried to divide our nation with his ignorance/arrogance and you're trying to do the same (as an LTP supporter!!!) here abroad by dividing Armenians. As if you have the 'keys' yourself! I think the person that should start respecting the law is LTP!
  12. Takoush, Ignore the irrelevant comment Not worth it at all!
  13. Armenia is lost without Russia...unless you want Turkey and Azerbaijan to share border, Russia should always play teh role of the protector of Armenia. People had the freedom to move and assembly for nearly 10 days.....in 'democratic' countries of the west, they would have been disperesed within a day without getting any authorization/approval from the government!!! The SS & RK duo tried to act 'democratic' in the eyes of the west by letting the LTP gang gather day and night at the Liberty Square, which they should not have let in the first place without any legal authorization. Demonstration in Armenia are tolerated, unless it illegal without any consent from the government. Also, why are you ignoring the fact that LTP never authorized his rallies like he should have done? He was told to get authorization, but he never did...ignorance on his part. Be glad that the current administration let them stay that long and didn't send them home a week earlier. LTP is so ignorant that when the Catholicos came to his door to speak to him after what happened, he simply did not want to meet with him. Not only that, but he spoke negatively about Charles Aznavour and few other Armenians. LTP is arrogant and who the hell does he think to speak negatively about people like Charles Aznavour and the rest?
  14. Not only that, but I bet in a year or two they would do the same agains the LTP adminstration, if LTP became the president of course. I'm trying to say that the same hooligans would try to overthrow his governmant the same way after they see that LTP didn't bring the changes he promised to bring.
  15. The last video just made me sick the way they ran after the police car, then beat those policemen and burn the car down! I had no idea we had animals among ourselves. Now let them get what they deserve. This is why I was saying before that LTPs followers looked like they were the low part of the society...just by looking at the faced of the protesters at the Liberty Square before these events occurred. Only a low life loosers would go out and behave like this in the streets. They are so ignorant that they didn't stop to think for a minute the damage they're causing to their city in the first place. Nikol Pashinyan should be shot! I used to think that both sides should have behaved a little different, but I'm so glad that the government started arresting some of them now. The rumors that a pregnant woman was killed is BS...what would a pregnant woman do among these animals at 3am-4am at night throwing rocks? I keep hearing about it here and there and its so annoying because it doesn't take any brains to know that its BS even if you hear it 100 times non stop.
  16. I don't know what that video was trying to prove. The soldiers were not shooting from real guns anyways...if the government should be brought to justice for that, how about all the other thugs who vandalized and killed the soldiers? Shouldn't it go both ways? The US has acted even worse during the Los Angeles riots, so why hasn't anyone urged the administration to step down? That's jus one example. If a government steps down after every incident, what kind of government is it? There are always incidents that happen in every country...some bigger than this and some not was big... so should we start changing government every year now? Especially when the alternative is a traitor? Do you need glasses to see all that? Do you need glasses to see that if it wasn't for LTP, all this wouldn't have happened in the first palce? Since we all realize that there's no better alternative of the current administration, why go with the worst one just to have that 'change'? If LTP ever get power in Armenia (which will never happen again after all this) I would be worried about Armenia's future in terms of its role in the region. Also, don't forget that Russia endorsed SS, not LTP, so that means that only SS will become the president...whether it's 10,000 marching for him or 100,000.
  17. Nicole Pashinian urging the protesters to turn to VIOLENCE in order to take over the government!
  18. Just to add to the article above... Erevuma vor manten engel drsi 'mi kanis@' vor vochinch irants mot chi statsvel. Now they're threatening that it will hamper the US-Armenian relations... the statement from the article. They are simply irritated by Armenia...by the fact that we're pro-Russian, keep bringing up the Genocide issue every where, pro-Iranian with gas pieline (economically & politcally friendly), against joining the NATO, and that NK is still unresolved (to the benefit of Azeris)... there are so many reasons that they want nothing but a weaker and destablized Armenian state. If you're a weak state, you're easily controlled and this is why they wanted to bring someone like LTP to be able to weaken the country and control it through LTP (the puppet) to their advantage.
  19. This is from eurasianet.net As if what the Prosecutor-General is not right about how its all an outside job. Now they call it 'conspiracy theory'...right they just want to cover up their butts so that no blame will be palced upon US(CIA) and others. I'm glad that they haven't called us crazy yet! They come and try to screw things up, then make up excuses by labeling us as "conspiracy theorists". I wonder what's next. Perhaps their way of thinking is that LTP was just a man who loved his country so much that he decided to come back to power and fight those corrupt Armenian government to bring prosperity to the country. Armenia: Authorities Advance Conspiracy Theory 03/07/08 Armenian leaders are now casting the March 1 bloodshed in Yerevan as the product of an international conspiracy that sought the revolutionary overthrow of the existing political order. Speaking at a March 7 news conference in Yerevan, Armenian Prosecutor-General Agvan Ovsepian asserted that “conspiratorial foreign forces” played a role in initiating the armed clashes between anti-government demonstrators and state security forces that left at least eight people dead. [For background see the Eurasia Insight archive]. “Many factors related to the [March 1] events … provide a basis for such a conclusion,” Ovsepian added, according to an account published by the Russian daily Izvestiya. Meanwhile, in an interview published by Rosssiiskaya Gazeta on March 7, Serzh Sarkisian -- Armenia’s prime minister, and, according to the official results of the February 19 election, outgoing President Robert Kocharian’s successor -- claimed that the anti-government protesters were intent on toppling the government. “It’s fair to say that an attempt to organize a ‘color revolution’ in Armenia really took place,” Sarkisian insisted. Overall, 350 individuals have been interrogated in connection with a criminal probe being carried out by officials, Ovsepian said. So far, 53 individuals have been formally charged in connection with the March 1 violence. Another 16 have been detained and are under suspicion of wrongdoing, Ovsepian added. Meanwhile, two members of parliament, Sasson Mikaelian and Khachatur Sukisian, have apparently gone into hiding, Ovsepian announced. The two, who are suspected of playing a role in organizing the anti-government protests, were recently stripped of their parliamentary immunity. The government version is contradicted by eyewitness accounts of the March 1 events. Participants in the anti-government protests insist that security forces opened fire on a largely unarmed crowd. [For background see the Eurasia Insight archive]. In addition, the preliminary findings of Armenia’s ombudsman have indicated that the Kocharian administration initiated the sequence of events that led directly to the bloodshed. [For background see the Eurasia Insight archive]. State of emergency restrictions have hampered the ability of independent news organizations, both inside and outside Armenia, to gather information, thereby hindering the ability to verify the competing versions of events. [For background see the Eurasia Insight archive]. The United States and key members of the European Union have not challenged the Kocharian administration’s handling of the crisis, even though as part of its all-out effort to stifle a free press, the Armenian government pulled the plug on Armenian-language broadcasts of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. In a March 7 editorial titled “Dark Days in Armenia,” the New York Times called on President George W. Bush, along with European leaders, to “make clear to Armenia’s government that such behavior is unacceptable and will jeopardize future relations.” A clear signal of disapproval is needed in order to halt what the editorial described as a “slide into authoritarianism” by CIS states. Amid the relative silence of the United States and EU, Armenian authorities have started to vigorously attack the few Western officials who have gone on record as criticizing the Armenian government’s behavior. One such official is Terry Davis, the secretary-general of the Council of Europe, who on March 3 called for a quick end to the state of emergency. [For background see the Eurasia Insight archive]. Without referring to Davis or other critics by name, Victor Sogomonian, Kocharian's press secretary, pointedly told outsiders to, in effect, mind their own business. “We must clearly realize that it is not foreign officials, but rather [Armenian] authorities that are in charge of the republic’s security,” Sogomonian said.
  20. I think that March 1st events seem for most people as some type of a catastrophic event. I really don't see what happened in Armenia as catastrophic as they make it seem, but it sure was meaningless and took number of innocent lives, which could have been prevented. The reason why I think that Armenian are making huge deal about this than is because these type of things happen almost every week in other places around the world, but not in Armenia. Why do Armenians have the perception that "oh that's it, we're doomed after what has happened and we have lost all our legitimacy"....it's nonsense... I do understand that we were a peaceful nation and we do not see stuff like this happen in our republic often, but go back to 1999.....wasn't the Parliamentary shootings even worse than this? Would you say that the 1999 event, which was televised around the world, make Armenia look 100 times worse than these riots? I mean you have riots every where and every week, but you do not have few people going into Parliament buildings and start shooting the politicians.... so if we have lost our legitimacy for what has happened on March 1, we have lost our legitimacy years ago!!! Again, it's very saddening to see what has happened and I've said it again that LTP & his thugs must be detained for this! BUT to say that riots lowered the Armenian name is wrong because the same happened to Georgians few time in few year period, so we can conclude the same about them too. I think we have this perception that Armenia has lost its imagine because we don't see stuff like this ever week there, so we automatically think that this is it....that we are forever lost our pride in front of the rest of the world. I think that's crazy...so that must mean that the whole world has lost its legitimacy....didn't USA do the same with the Black Panthers and the LA riots of 1994 if I’m not mistaking? You can conclude that USA lost its own legitimacy and what it stands for in front of the world because those were equally horrible events if compared to what has happened in Armenia...maybe their case was even worse. My point is that this was just a riot, stupid people ended up getting killed because they have no idea about anything, except to follow another idiot, and there was property destruction. When someone said that tourism in Armenia will stop or we have lowered our image in front of the world is nonsense...why would tourism stop anyways? Things are back to normal as I understand and wait until this summer to see tourism flourishing again. If this is how the Turks/Azeris are trying to make us look bad, then they should try harder because the same has happened in Turkey! We're making this bigger than it seems, although it is big and we should move on and make sure that this is prevented in the future...we must understand that whenever someone like LTP comes out of his cage and announces that he, the president who screwed things up in the first place, wants to come and fight the corruption, people in Armenia must question that because he might be very much controlled from the outside just like in this case. Let this be a good lesson for Armenia for any future similar incidents. This will be forgotten in a year; just like the horrible 1999 Parliamentary shootings are history, at least for the outside world. I listen to some Armenian talk shows (political) and they sound as if this is the end for Armenia or something. Only if our people were a little smart....the lower class of the society that has been following LTP like crazy without any brains to stop and think for a minute who they're actually standing in the streets day and night for and for what kind of a person they're vandalizing and killing their own soldiers for. Just crazy, but it's sure not the end of Armenia. So relax It will be forgotten soon. I just don't understand why the US Millennium Corporation canceled its $235 million rural development plan because of some riots, WHICH ENDED WITHIN HOURS! It's not like the riots went on for days and weeks that people are making such a big deal about it. I don't get why they would cancel the project. It's strange because just the day before I was writing about that project for one of my classes and then I heard that they have canceled. Didn’t they already start toe project anyways? If they’re going to cancel a project based on riots in a country, then we don’t even need their $235 million because it’s obvious that there was no real reason why they should cancel it. The riots lasted few hours, so why would they cancel it. It would have been different if a civil war erupted, but that’s not the case and they clearly saw that the life was back to normal in the morning. Anyways, their actions didn’t seem logical for me. Why cancel the project for no serious reason!
