  1. Finally the zenith of our rightful demands! Will we see that day when reparations are in force? Our unity and power can go a long way making this justice to prevail for a change! Our historians should teach the future Armenian youth about the inheritance they are entitled to! Long live the truth sayers like Ayvazyans...
  2. Since you dwelt in the realm of skeching your thoughts... allow me to ask why HUMANS NEEDED SOME FORM OF BELIEFS in the first place? Your examples suggest learning by rote for survival... being a major cause for belief creation. This sounds too simplistic. Logically, according to your views, if safety of being can be achieved, humans might shed blind beliefs... Why have these beliefs persevered to this day even in the most secure environments... (i.e. US presidents devotion?) If we are in the age of "logicalism" (another credo?)... are you suggesting all believers are dupes? Could it be that for a lot of humans finding solace in some spirituality, even if contradictary to physical proofs, is sufficient dope to be able to face LIVING on this Earth with hope? BTW do you consider hope to be a belief? Please do not label me as a blind faithful. I am trying to understand your logical solution that humans should undetake to free themselves from the religious opiates. How will humans get rid of their exploiters that come in all shapes and forms? Nihilism is no option as far as I am concerned.
  3. Arvestaked, As you deemed unnecessary to answer my queries about your stances regarding beliefs ...and substitutes you think logical to replace these if needed...! Would you be kind enough to explain your views as to why, in RECORDED HISTORY and lore, humans have always needed some beliefs to worship at all times and independently in different parts of this earth? Thanks
  4. Hi Aratta, I had read the articles... I was also referring to the EU human rights rep's utterings... Armenia is portrayed as a vile dictatorship to be chastised and warned that she might lose voting priviledges in EU forums? Thanks for all the informative postings...
  5. It is hoped that USA does not actively undermine the existance of Armenian Republic! apart from the US recognition of AG, which in itself is not a guarentee for Armenia's well being...Will they leave us to be? The recent threats of US rep. Mathew Bryza, about cutting the funding from the millenium projects... leaves one to wonder if, Armenians or Armenia count for anything in the US policies regarding the US new world order? Unless Armenia unilaterally becomes subservient to the Western interests, as a few political declarations recently made in EU as well as USA pointed... to the detriment of RF...it seems to me, we have to counter this new front, in addition to the blockage we face presently. So far a civil strife has been avoided...The destruction of Armenia from within is a great possibility. At least that's what was aimed for during the recent presidential elections. Our choice is very evident, Armenia and Diaspora Armenians more then ever, need to unify all efforts for our survival!
  6. The prophecy you imply above is not so obvious...I abhore all........ isms! Imagine super powers in confrotation regarding the possession and control of vital resources in 2028, (water-food- energy) do you think the West as we know it today, can afford to loose 500 million souls and still function? My guess will be no, but the East after loosing 1 billion might still be viable...what do you think? This could be a good dooms day picture story... Big budget. Regards Ps, sorry deviating from topic. But food for thought, where would Armenia and Artsakh be if the above ever happened? I hope our mountains and deep mines will shelter some survivors to carry our genes...
  7. Hi Edward, Even if the lack of population is evident, it is not necessarily the cause of our weakness... Unity and strategic defence built up will make us invinsible! Turkey will never accept AG since, as you say, reparations are the main cause for all their denials. As for trying to embarrass Turkey... you must first teach them humility in order for them to understand embarrassment! This is near enough an impossible task. How do you change the spots of a Dalmation? Look at what they are doing to their own citizens, the Kurds. Turkey and Turks deny the existance of this ethnicity! Recently to appease and join EU, the inheriters of ottoman empire, are supposedly conducting reforms for the Kurds, just like the never performed reforms promised to Armenians by the Ottomans... No changes there! Dark realism is better then blind optimism . Regards.
  8. Hi LK82, It is commendable to be imaginative and visionary with wishfull scenarios. The obvious outcome of your projections are totally dependent on our opponents, not to say enemies... Since turkic invasions of our homeland, there has never been an instance of good will shown to Armenians by turkic/ tataric races up till NOW! As it takes two sides abiding themselves in finding solutions... this has been an ongoing process since 1990's in the case of Artsakh, where the Azery side does not stop treatening war and invasion today, to free Artsakh from Armenians?. Turkic policies and plans are geared only for the eradication of Armenians, based on history and recent blockades... For the first time via Artsakh, Armenia imposed a recuperation of a historically Armenian land, at the same time gaining a semblance of respect from our past masters... What avenues other then self defence, do you propose to open a dialogue based on equality with our nemesis? Co-operation and brotherly love, as well as bending sideways in 1900's, resulted in AG of 1915. The day a wolf genuinely befriends and does not devour a lamb, maybe we can dialogue then. Good luck.
  9. If I understood from MosJan, this topic adresses WHAT SHOULD BE DONE. What is the relevancy of your posted articles if not a biased PAST opinions, without any novel input about the TOPIC? What's more they seem to upbraid further divisivness amongst Armenians, instead of suggesting solutions. Thanks.
  10. Hello Edward, Do you feel frustrated today in USA, having made you fight against communists in Vietnam... ( btw supported by Chinese communists) , presently for economic cosiderations are supporting communism in China? We do live in a weird world... during Iraq (supported by USA) - Iran (supported by USA during Shah's time) war in the 80's, Armenians in both armies, were fighting each other... go figure! Good luck
  11. Arvestaked, Your non-theic advocacy bears some responsability if you wish to propagate a new approach for our (so called higher organisms on earth) through logic and scientific proofs, explaining in simple terms... how did life begin? Please, not the usual chemistry and given the optimum coditions theory. If this was so why have we not been able to create life from nothingness? My question is childish... but children often leave us dumbfounded with innocent queries. I will be very interested to know your views, as to how a society should function with a non-theic approach. What legal forms should be enacted... Built on what credos? I am fully aware of the multiple ...isms that were created to control and exploit the masses by rulers/powermongers! Would not a non-theic authority of logical/scientific humans, in time, become fully corrupted as well. Who or what should be an impartial director of Earth? In order to change what we have now, not very appetizing in itself, what should the new order according to your advocacy be? So far all scientific beleifs have not been able to logically proove "WHAT IS THE PRIMORDIAL ENERGY GOVERNING THE UNIVERSES ? Big Bang? Who/what started the big bang? ad-infinitum... Theoretically many views have been advanced by logical scientists in the history of our world... only to be refuted by newer views). No sarcasm is intended in the above. Another seeker of meanings. Thanks.
  12. Chem asel Yerevan em bnaqvum. My answer to what should be done? It is obvious to all that have read my posts and the example I've given; " living half the year in Armenia thanks to my pensions". Isk im vortegh bnaqvel-e inch gap uni im qradzneri het? Ay kez ban... Che lini baron Hughes-e ints @ bntrum...? Why is that... ArmeniaNow deletes similar comments that I have posted in this forum, exposing a side of news casting, that in my opinion, are biased and denigrating Armenians and Armenia?. If the news caster is sopposed to be a friendly, unbiased, independent outsider voice in Armenia, why does the paper censure opinions that dispute their standing ? For you to guess the answer... Are these questions of mine in any shape or form insulting or denigrating...? You be the judge. Sirov.
  13. Bolor gyank me odar yerqrner aprelutz hedo, vayelum em im Hayreniq-e 2003its i ver... vorbes nor oreri hayashinutyan poqr masnagits nerkaxtogh. I do unrenumerated volunteer work. To retain my full pensions, forces me to return to the country where I am entitled to it. This has been earned via all the contibutions and taxes that I had paid over the years, to support the social sysytem. No secrets, no covert agenda. Just being amongst Armenians is compensation enough, after a life lived in diaspora... BTW you did not answer my question in the previous posting. Thanks
  14. Do you mean to say any comments that seem anti Mr. John Hughes are not to be allowed in this forum? I have NO PERSONAL PROBLEMS WITH ANY ArmeniaNow personnel! My comments are directed to the subject matters written about Armenia. Thank you
  15. Votch yev et chi qareli... All things can be improved given honest good will and lots of effort! It's a better proposition to give a positive push rather a negative pull. Since my first visit in 1975! I have found enormous changes taking place in Armenia. In the 90's LTP times and later, I have witnessed scores of BAD/GOOD/BAD/GOOD... things... All those who do not have the wellfare and stability of our nation at heart, are doom sayers painting the coutry in the worst possible scenarios. The destructive publicity, spread through some poison pens, achieve their ultimate goal of undermining Armenia's tourism industry, as well as keeping away potential investors from Armenia, as a productive investment sector. Armenia needs to carry on, cleverly keeping good relations with all super powers. Any force that creates an athmosphere of FRATRICIDAL WAR should be eradicated as soon as possible. Our enemies just crave for this occurence. Finally we need to watch our immediate neighbours like hawks at all times, to keep what little we have. Anklieren em qrel Hayeren chegartatzoxneri hamar. l
  16. Thank you MosJan, I had his E-mail. I do read ArmeniaNow... Mr. Hughes or his censurers, after displaying some of my comments in ArmeniaNow, delete all comments that are critical of their points of view without any explanation. I am not refering to abusive and insulting comments. I do live just under six months in Shushi, every year since 2003. Ayl gerb xoselu hamar guyr bedq-e linem. Hojoxutyun.
  17. At the risk of offending some folks at this forum... I feel compelled to state my opinion about this article by Mr. John Hughes, editor of ArmeniaNow in Armenia. (Independent news?) By the way, all comments that do not suit Mr. Hughes liking, is deleted from ArmeniaNow... so much for unbiased news casting! I wonder if this forum willl also find my comments unsuitable. THERE ARE NO CURSING OR INSULTS IN MY COMMENTS. If one cares to peruse previously published articles by Mr. Hughes, you will be surprised to find a lot of quotations from rock stars at the beginning of each article. These invariably give me the sense of desperate and dark mood creating openings. I do not think these are chance selections. They portray a reblious, unguided, exagerated utterings of the lost youth that created the hippies in the late 60's 70's and 80's. One wonders what Mr. Hughes is spreading via these "wisdoms"? As a transplanted journalist in Armenia, I find Mr. Hughes very biased and paternalistic. His descriptions about Armenia's evolution for the past 17 years leaves one asking this simple question. If Mr. Hughes had tried to do a little soul searching, he would have been more lenient towards Armenia's turmoils. All he had to do was look to his nation of USA for the past Bush years. The legacy left by Bush: Unending War, fear of terrorist attacks, economic depression, soaring gas prices, meddling in all of the world's conflicts (if not instigating at least contributing). Sub prime loans that are killing home owners! My guess will be, what did I leave out? Depending of who you are or whom you know...? As a parting thought, if nothing else, Kocharyan since 98, has not given back an inch of Artsakh to anybody! We can only hope Armenian governments keep doing the same for the next 10 years! Regarding Armenia's economy, even though blockaded, has had remarkable growth, no matter how or in which sector, (constructions are not like shares that are sooo volatile... see NYSE)... who is Mr. Hughes to belittle it? Dubai's growth seems... JUST CONSTRUCTION. Is this bad?
  18. `Z`areh`, A try to answer, your question answer... Any debate anywhere, is conducted with an aim and a result in mind... Unless it's for "chur dzedzel". Bulgarians so far, have NOT conducted an active oppositon against the recognition of AG outside of Bulgaria! Israel and their supporters, have actively opposed the recognition of AG wherever their influence (inside or outside of Israel) had power to do so. This has been a historically repetitious fact, not an assumption! Politics, in my opinion, is nothing but AN AMALGAM OF CONSPIRACIES in defence of self perpetuating interests. BTW, Only Turkey`s recognition of AG matters. Awaiting your opinion. No mockery on my part. Thanks.
  19. There is no mockery in the opinion put forward. Just query why these occurences in Israeli kneset happen regularly prior to Apr.24s? No complaints about their discussions, (as you say , it will be for naught ) . Then how would you interprete the purpose pursued by this futile exersise? Who are the beneficiaries? We would appreciate your mature analysis. Thanks.
  20. Harkeli Arpa, To point out an opinion in answer to your query why such topics are displayed here...that's why the above was selected as quote. Also the reply is in english for our non Armenian reading forum-ites... To be aware what type of propaganda is dished out, gives us a chance to absorb and reflect as to what it's purpose is. -Is it a coincidence that such acts by Israeli governments come out just prior to April 24s?... in a variety of pro Armenian moves...just like throwing a few crumbs. -The recent kneset scenario is using AG to chastise Erdoghan's "Palestinian massacre is not justyfied" uttterings... Keep Islamists at bay? -Covering up the Israeli close association with Turkey and Azeri actions, specially re-armement and training programs...using diversionary tactics to minimize media attention on Israeli covert subversive destabilization of Armenia. How can we cry foul whilst supposedly keneset is reviewing AG? -Armenia with the present government that shows closer ties to RF, is hempering the free and safe exploitation of Azeri OIL by Western interests. Humbly I suggest we take all actions by our enemies and follow the money trail...to arrive at intelligent assumptions? My glass is always half full. Sirov.
  21. Not knowing if Aronyan had found sponsors since 2006... it was an innocent query that turned into all this...but it was there right? As far as datedness is concerned... You mean like history should never be taken seriously since things change? Ok it's a joke don't be offended ! Still congratulations to our champion Aronyan.
  22. Please read GevorgP post Dec. 5th 2006 05:55. Before pointing an accusing finger... Why do you jump to conclusions that I am in any shape or form, down trodding our GREAT CHESS CHAMPION? Once again my heartfelt congratulations to our GREAT ARONYAN!
  23. No more then any other, so called, civilized nation on earth...
  24. Ashot, Refer to GevorgP posts.
