We keep forgetting that the Armenian Genocide, just like the Iraq war, was a great Carpet-bagging venture, a tremendous opportunity for corporate and state level pilferage of wealth of millions of people. The trend to discredit everyone from Armenia by labening them as "traitors for leaving Armenia" was the ARF stance beginning in the mid 1970's. The ARF was afraid of competition in terms of community organization and leadership, and they were prophetic about their own demise in terms of controlling the community for the most part. They are now irrelevant for the most part. The Statehood itself was being mocked.
