  1. Must have been that sleeveless blue/yellow shirt of yours
  2. Nah, I couldnt care less what they thought, BUT its not as if Im marrying someone now...
  3. Who said anything about looking: I just need one sometimes (or maybe its my imagination ). Probably coz I put so much effort (and thought) into ensnaring this girl from uni, and it didnt get anywhere and NOW I feel like punching someones teeth in
  4. ....for example: I am going out tonight (a fact) with a couple of friends and their g/fs. This isnt a problem for me, but a couple other people (hint: girls) would probably prefer if I turned up with a partner too....
  5. Yeah....sometimes! Everything you have said is all well and good, but I am smart enough to know what MY problem is, just too lazy to rectify. I thought a topic like this would be fun for all: sort of like Waterworld
  6. ....I hope your interpretation of 'girlfriend' is not the same as Azat. ....been done, results were rather unsatisfactory! Gams, I said girlfriend, not a drunk/drugged bimbo for one night stand....where is your sense of achievement? Sip, agreed with most you have said, just a couple of things.... I dont think you can talk buddy Dont think your right, I think most people are at parties simply to have fun, and if they pick up/get picked up - thats just a bonus. But yeah most people are just there to enjoi music, have a few drinks, have fun with friends etc. I dont know man...... Yeah....maybe HE wrote that 'Complete A**holes Guide to Dating' and was covertly advertising it. Yes, Nairi this is the crux of my problem. I only got a couple of girlfriends (not close) havnt seen them in ages. Most my friends have g/fs but I only see their friends on big occasions: b'days etc. So this basically means, I gotto make friends with/pick up a complete stranger. That in itself is easier said than done, then there are issues of compatibility, etc. This isnt a problem , I really am a pretty terrible actor/liar. So even if I wanted to, I couldnt lie and act someone other than myself, so I dont bother.
  7. Suggestions, comments, paying-out and other forms of ridicule in here
  8. mmmm.....looks like another easy victory to me: (thank you Mr Ramsey ). Even managed a top score for this round . Im starting to like this - bad news for you guys . So, how many teams make it to the play-offs, or is the winner simply the team with the most wins (points) after all the games?
  9. No, its just that this bike is a work of art (as well as power). Look at the profile photo of the red one (5th pic from top).....it looks like an animal with its (giant) mouth open (about to swallow the front wheel).

    Friendship

Plenty of?.....I doubt it. I dont think its too different here from the US and Britain. well....the only benchmark I can compare it to is Armenian friendship (or rather, what it used to be) and it doesnt come close. Yeah, Aussies are pretty friendly and there certainly is a relaxed 'aura' around most Australians (including non-Anglos) We use the garage for a shed!

    Ya....welcome aboard
  12. First, I think the article is rubbish. Who would shy away from sex for religious reasons, and then graphically describe it to a journalist? Secondly, does it really matter if the couple is truelly happy?

    Friendship

I think it might have been, in the 60s and 70s.....maybe not in the villages, but in the cities I think it would have been pretty close. The question is: does the lack of scratching/being scratched ( ) lead one to a less substantial life? Yes, following your (Anglo) logic, one also has no need for parents/brothers/relatives either. I mean parents are only a burden when they grow old.....so thats what the old folkes home is for, just throw them in there It is changing for sure, for the better? maybe from the standard of living point of view. But are people more happy?

    Friendship

aaahhhh.....how sweet! btw. I just realised, I dont think I have seen a single Hollywood movie with a main theme of friendship. I saw '25th Hour' last week (with Edward Norton), that was sort of about friendship, but it was emphasising how f#@$ed up friendship is these days. Nothing like the Russian movie 'Brat' (Brother) of course. Also very recommended: about friendship, brotherhood and honour (with a bit of Russian chauvinism thrown in). Unfortunatelly, the main star of the movie died, only last year I think.....

    Friendship

I dont think standard of living has much to do with it. In the 60s and 70s, the standard of living in the USSR wasnt much lower than that in the US, but people (who are in their 50s and 40s now) were able to forge much better friendships there. IMO, its got more to do with culture: Anglo (and other Western European) culture IMO doesnt 'allow' for true friendship. And now, materialism and greed have made things worse still. mmm....yes, to some extent. But, point is, for example I dont have any close Anglo (Australian friends). My best friend is Croation, and then there are Poles, Arabs (Christian), Russians, Serbs etc. Same here Azat, lets hope that an environment like that would exist in the future, for future Armenians to create lifelong friendships. After love (which is a friendship/partnership of sorts with ones wife/husband), friendship and brotherhood is the next important thing. I imagine, someone who lacks both (love and friendship) has a very miserable life.
  16. The Topic title should read "For those who want to commit suicide in style"
  17. New 2004 Yamaha R1 180bhp....almost as much as my 1.4 tonne Mazda 6, this thing weights around 170 kg! http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/mcy/500/04R1_sped_1734.jpg http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/mcy/500/04R1_SLV_4_1734.jpg http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/mcy/media/wallpaper/wallpaper_mcy_04_R1_blu_5_800_zz.jpg http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/mcy/500/04R1_red_6_1734.jpg http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/mcy/500/04R1_red_4_1734.jpg http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/mcy/500/04R1_red_5_1734.jpg http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/mcy/500/04R1_red_nose_1734.jpg http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/mcy/500/04R1_blu_5e_1734.jpg http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/mcy/500/04_R1_tail_1734.jpg

    Friendship

Ever since my return from Armenia, Ive been thinking of starting a discussion on Friendship, but then I found this thread, so I will just continue this one. Anyhow, the trip was a real eye-opener for me....meeting all of my dads childhood/university friends. Friendship in Armenia is like brotherhood, or at least it used to be, like everything else it has probably changed, especially for the younger generation. A few days before our departure me and dad went to 3rd Mass (Yerevan working class suburb), all the remaining (in Armenia) childhood friends of his had gathered, and I must say it was quite moving. One of them said to me: "Alik, hishoomes, dzer gnalootz arach menk havakvelenk dzer toon@, oo ko papan asets: 'ai tes Alik.......es im @nkernernen!', yes shat indz hpart @zgatsi!". I couldnt remmember the words, but I do remember the gathering in our shooshaband and THAT was 10 years ago! I must say a person would be very lucky to make ONE such a friend (more like a brother) in the West, let alone a dozen. Here (as I am sure is in the States and Western Europe), even the concept of relation is almost non existant. People literally dont have any friends and/or relatives (you only get 10 people turning up to weddings) and leed IMO unfulfilling lives. I have lived in Australia for over 10 years: I have never heard a song about friendship or brotherhood (I suspect, it simply wouldnt sell). Everything is about love/sex/money. Even Russians have popular songs on friendship. One such song I heard in Armenia and highly recommend you get your mits on (if you understand Russian), by Garik Krichevskiy called 'Privakzalnaya', about two friends, one is leaving to go somewhere, and they got together to have a drink and remember the past (childhood/teen years etc). A song like this wouldnt be understood in the West. Thoughts, comments here.....
  19. Interesting article I just read, some relevance to the topic:
  20. Exactly! Escpessially, with the second point, as IMO it only really applies to the guys.
  21. I think my next game is crucial: if I win I should be pretty certain of a top 8 finish. btw. how many teams go to playoffs? Have you guys noticed: all of Hokies bench players are wide recievers....
  22. LMAO Azat! Yeah, either than or eat your words like Winston....you gotto come first, remmember?
