  1. I go camping for a week and all of a sudden I am world champion? Wow I like this.
  2. The Dutch are doing an excellent job taking over the place of Italy to give us that nice artistic diving aspect of world-class football.
  3. Oh is that what why I haven't seen Fadix around?
  4. To me, marriage has always seemed like this very unnecessary drama-fest which doesn't make much sense in our today's world anymore. Basically it comes down to being a contract that if the couple decide to part ways in the future, they have to split up material possessions. I do kind of understand the point of females wanting this contract as traditionally they have had much less ability to obtain and maintain material possessions. Also when there are kids involved (or possibility of kids), again it is nice for the female to have some sort of insurance as having kids can certainly very negatively impact one's professional life. But when both the male and the female have strong earning powers and don't really care about having kids, such arrangements make much less sense. There is also the "traditional" aspect of marriage which we have discussed many times. You just can't get around traditional views. They will eventually dissipate as part of the usual organic change in people's outlooks on "societal norms".

How about Costa Rica? I have never been but always hear great things.
  8. Actually the Armenian translation is in alpha which means not even beta! It is very preliminary. Google always likes to launch something then iterate and keep improving it. Also as more people use it not only does the system learn and adapt but also people can contribute better and better translations (hopefully). As far as how it works, I don't quite know the internals but it's based on statistical machine learning (it's not rule/grammar/vocabulary based). Google just looks at many many existing Armenian pages and also some existing 1-to-1 translations and statistically "learns" how to translate based on these existing texts. It's pretty cool actually that it works at all!!!
  9. take your pain --> վերցնել ձեր ցավը I am going to kick you in the ass --> Ես պատրաստվում եմ թռչել ձեզ էշ Also the phonetic translation (reading out loud) is kind of entertaining! I LOVE this one though! I want to make bbq --> Ես ցանկանում եմ կատարել ՀԱՆԴԵՍ Խորովածով
  10. try it out Here is the blog post about it.

Give me a choice to live ANYWHERE in the world and more than likely I'd pick the US 1,000,000 times over anywhere else. It just doesn't get much better than here. Lets start by continents: Affrica - LAME South America - Why? Asia - Pretty much all junk Eastern Europe - Why when there is West Europe? Wester Europe - eh perhaps. Far too industrialized and restrictive for my tastes. This leaves the poles, Australia, and North America. Australia - too far from anything and shipping prices are too high when you want to order things. Considering I am fairly materialistic, I wouldn't like it there too much. The poles are always an option but again, the whole materialistic thing comes to play. As far as North America ... yah Canada is fine perhaps but I don't consider that much different than the US. So by process of elimination: US is by faaaaaar the best place to live for me.

  17. Sovereign, you simply can't ignore the fact that US relations with Turkey (or any other country) cannot be simply based on morality. In the real world, things are faaaaar more complicated. The simple truth is the US and Israel both heavily need Turkey on their good side in the region. If US pisses of Turkey and pushes it into the same realm as the rest of the US/Israel-hating countries of the region, you will get a very volatile situation become even more volatile. I am not a fan of US ignoring the Armenian Genocide issue but I do understand why they are taking the position they are taking. What matters more now is good relations with Turkey ... a very powerful and geologically crucial piece of the global game. You can take as many ads in a paper as you want but what it comes down to is what is for the good of the many at this point in time (and not just the handful of Armenians in the world).
  18. The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weakness, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this. --Albert Einstein
  19. I agree with Sovereign. Please all of you kindly send me all your dollars so I can safely dispose of them .
  20. Is this the first time EVER that a religious group has "believed" in something by less than 100.0000%?

I don't think love is a necessity for happiness. You can be quite happy and content without romantic love. But I do agree that those that have issues in their romantic life are most likely unhappy people.

They had these thinly sliced black radishes with some sort of beat puree on top at work today. I have to say I really liked it. I am afraid I might be reaching an age where my taste buds are starting to appreciate some of the finer things in life.
