THE BEAUTIFUL ONES ******************** The beautiful one is always Who walked past you one day And anointed your eyes-adivine visitor. You failed to turn and look back at such beauty, And you did not wish to meet her again. The beautiful one is forever, always and ever, She who grow into grace under the warmth of your eyes, Who swayed like a flower In the sweet spring winds, And when you went away, she stayed always fresh in your mind, ever fragrant. And the beautiful one-you know her delightful name- Is she who might have loved you after all, Who certainly guessed your love and waited eagerly for you, But she is one whose heart it's just as well you did not wound- Ah, the beautiful ones are the only they Who through your desires Came and went away, But who call you now from afar... ------------------------------------ Transl. by A. 11. HHSh is not the image of Hayastantsis. Most of the Hayastantsi are totally resentful of HHSh. Additionally, HHSh has gone through several evolutions. Additionally, as far as the domestic life goes, I don’t see significant difference (given the same conditions) between HHSh, ARF and the Communists. Although you have point, but what HHSH did, did because they are Hayastantsis. Change the name, members, nothing will be changed in HHSHs behavior and mentality. Antsnink. To some degree definitely Karabagh has brought the current crisis on Armenia – that is a fact. The issue is that it was not the sole source of the crisis, and it was perhaps unavoidable. Without Hayastantsis and the sacrifices of Hayastantsis Karabagh would’ve not been where it is today. They had no other choice. Remember the late 80's, when the independency of Amenia bounded to ''Karapaghu mern e'' lozunks. Definitely Hayastantsis have a different from the Diaspora perception of the Genocide. The Genocide doesn’t define their identity, even though perhaps half of the Hayastantsis are children and grandchildren of survivors of the Genocide. The Genocide is not an industry in Armenia for sure. It is a tragic stage of enormous magnitude in our history, which still has significant implications for us today. You're right. However, in the realm of the Armenian issues the Genocide is not the defining one, and the Diaspora doesn’t own it. I'm with you for the first part, but don't you think it is too much to ask for Diaspora, which is not a Nation, nor has unified identity. The cause of the recognition of the Genocide is spelled out in the Declaration of Independence of Armenia, thus it is part of Armenia’s foreign policy since day one. However, it is not the cornerstone of Armenia’s Foreign Policy. Fortunately the leaders of the Armenian political thought in Armenia were not so primitive. Definitely people have the right to worry about the Armenian policies. Indeed it has not always been consistent. But the Foreign policy has been most consistent. Definitely at some point, the Genocide discussions may become part of the agenda of the Commission referenced above. And they should be, as that is what stands in between the relations Armenia and Turkey, and that is one of the most significant issues at hand. But I doubt that the discussion would be on the subject whether the Genocide has taken place or not. I think they would be on how do we go about it. And definitely, without this discussion it is naïve to expect any resolution in Armeno-Turkish relations, or to expect recognition of the Genocide from the Turkish side. The very recognition of the Genocide requires a direct dialog between Turkey and Armenia. Hopefully that day may also come. My best wishes. But as far as I know, Turkey will never gonna recognize A. Genocide without other nations' pressure, Turkey as a nation is not mature (and will never be) enough for such action. Antsnink. Btw, I welcome your silence on the subject of the Armenian Cause, assuming that you define it the traditional way. Enough of that dishonest nonsense conversation. This is not true. I will not tell you more because I know your type. You are people who reject all the good things that political (traditional) parties and organizations did in Diaspora, assuming that they gave to Armenia nothing but only harm. Big issue to discuss, but I won't, knowing that you will oppose me anyway. For me, tradition is one of the main power for a nation to survive and for a people to keep his identity. I agree that Diaspora failed in updating his beliefs and in lots of things, but how come we have to ignore Diaspora for current Armenia, who is not independent in fact, neither has political backround (communism is the only model). To this point I can say that Diaspora still has the potential to serve Armenia in many ways, if Armenia ready to take the challenge. Armenia is a nation, Diaspora not. Big differences, but not contradictions. Give it two more generations, and it is totally gone outside some small isolated islands. Armenia is there to stay forever. All estimations people did for Diaspora's life are nonsense and so is your's. Diaspora is going to be there more than you claim, may be as long as Armenia survives. Diaspora is a changing ''structure'', changes will be only on map.

  13. If you are talking about the domestic policies of LDB, I am not going to argue with your assertion. However, his foreign policy, which has been embraced by in large by the current administration (with slight differences), has been very sober and well-thought out in the later stage of his presidency. May be. Still there is time to discuss. The same way like who? Couldn’t quite follow you. What I've tried to say that H.H.SH. is the image of Hayastantsis. The people living in Armenia (in past or at this moment) mostly have different view about Karapagh and A. Genocide. They think that Karapagh brought all those crisis to Armenia and that A. G. is not their concern. There is a lot to discuss between two neighboring countries, and about their future relationship. Nobody in Armenia or no Armenian outside doubts that the Genocide has happened, except those who think that by engaging in a dialog with the Turks may cast a doubt on the validity of the allegation of the Genocide. Why? Maybe those who oppose the dialog doubt themselves that it has happened (on the capacity of a Genocide), and a dialog may compromise it? Opening discussion is a welcomed initiative on the level of neighboring. I agree, no doubt. I'm afraid of one thing. It is looks like very innocent good willings for a matter which is more than that. What they are going to discuss (economical, regional, cultural, political, military...) sooner or later will reach to the same point, which is the A. G., because it is not something happened in past, it is about our future too. Unless if Kocharian's statement about A.G. will come the official policy of Armenia, i.e. Armenia has no right to discuss A.G. which is diasporan armenians' right, or something like A.G. is not political political matter and must be left for historians, etc... I do understand that we must have political priorities, and Republic of Armenia comes first, but people (parties) who are opposing not the dialog but the way of initiation (or people), they have the right to worry I guess, after all ups and downs in Armenia's political arena. But if we think What you call Armenian Cause is an empty and idle conversation to me. The real Armenian Cause is the future of the Republic of Armenia. The rest of it is hyperventilation mechanism to me, driven by one’s personal insecurities and the identity crisis, and others’ drive to extract value out of the “Our Land and Cause” industry. As far the Genocide goes, and the best way of the recognition of A.G. is the direct dialog. I cannot except such evaluation for Armenian Cause. I prefer keep silent. I have no intention to offend anybody. But I see no use in false values and assertions. It destroys this nation. The Diaspora itself is not a value, but rather an unfortunate phenomenon doomed to extinction much the same way it has done throughout centuries. And not again that crap of “Americanism,” please. If there is one thing which has harmed Armenia the most it has been the incompetent and unrealistic hyperventilation in the name of “Armenianism,” which in the name of the “our way and our tradition” has dragged the nation to the canyon of self-distraction and self-alienation. And there is only one way for the Diaspora to get strong – to totally embrace the Republic of Armenia, and orient itself towards the Republic. Everything outside that framework is an empty talk. Diaspora is a value, you agree or not. Diaspora MUST embrace Armenia without losing its own values. UNITY IN DIFFERENCES is the best option. No argument about this one. But the unification assumes an axis of unification or an idea around which to unify. In the absence of this axis, which in fact exists, though not everyone realizes it, there can not be one Armenian Nation. And the tragedy is that there isn’t one Armenian Nation. There is an Armenian nation, and there are many Armenian tribes related (as distant cousins) to that nation. I don't see any axis yet, but I see willingness (still working on it) for creating such a thing, and I'm with it. I agree with your last observation as well.
  14. As far as the Levon Der Bedrosian’s selling of Karabagh is concerned, that assertion is a pure BS. Nothing significant has changed in the policy of Armenia in the Karabagh issue since his resignation. Only the windows are dressed with a different curtain. Levon has been a very smart President in his later years of Presidency (to the contrary to the earlier years). HHSh indeed may be there, yet, but it is in the lower layers of governance only, and has no influence on the foreign policy of Armenia. Everyone has the right to engage in whatever discussion with whomever. If they don’t have the right to propose a "settlement," their “settlement” would not be honored. As far as the Diaspora is concerned, I don’t know what it means in this context. It has no elective bodies, and it has no ability to make decisions or to deliver its decisions in an organized manner. More or less it is just a crowd, with few incompetents adventurists on the top of some marginal organizations. quote null ---------------------------------------------LDB was the 1st so he got the big part of the ''sin''. What he couldn't do was to ''create'' a political schema for independent Armenia to survive better than the day he was president. But, unfortunately, guys were more involved in corruption than in saving. Thank to him for his resignation, at the end he showed some armeniannes in his behavior I doubt about H.H.SH. May be the party is not officially involved, but the problem is Armenians in Armenia mostly think in the same way, when the thing comes to national and political issues, especially about Karapagh and Armenian Genocide. No problem for opening a discussion between Turks and Armenians. But what to discuss? Armenian Genocide happened or not? That means, for second time you are putting your head in the hand of your jallads. If they are going to ignore A. G. and discuss only political matters and relations between two countries, that means too your gonna put Armenian Cause in a box with a big key on it. What are you saying about Diaspora is very offensive buddy. You are thinking in very americanized way, which can only give harm to Armenia and Armenian people. I'm not fanatic, I know how weak Diaspora is now, but for me, better to find ways to make Diaspora get stronger, than to follow american, israelian, european or others brainwashing policies and tactics. Although Armenia is small and few of people, but it does not mean we are gonna be monkeys in the hands of odars. We must creat our political schema soon (we are late already) and unity of course, to become like Israel in Caucas region. Dragon
  15. May be this can help MJ. Be sure``but supports it`` is not more than political approach. If for you it has other meaning (s), please enlighten me. Dragon YEREVAN--Dziunik Aghajanian, spokeswoman for the Armenian foreign ministry, has said that official Yerevan is "not in any way involved" in the initiative to set up a "reconciliation commission" between Armenians and Turks but supports it. The Armenian government Friday welcomed the creation of the commission earlier this week, but it reiterated that a full normalization of relations between the two neighboring states will be impossible without Ankara agreeing to establish diplomatic relations with Yerevan. "Armenia has always had a positive attitude towards public contacts and dialogue between the two peoples, which allow for the exchange of opinions and discussions on the existing problems," she said. "But it must also be noted that such meetings can never be a substitute for a dialogue on the state level." A delegation from the Armenian foreign ministry led by Ambassador-at-large David Hovannisian also took part in the Geneva conference which created the commission. Hovannisian is the fourth Armenian member of the reconciliation commission. According to spokeswoman Aghajanian, he did not represent official Yerevan at the Geneva meeting, acting only in his capacity as a professor at Yerevan State University.
  16. Don't mix things MJ. I have nothing personal against those people. If what you saying is true, then the government of Armenia supposed to welcome the idea but... what I see is the opposite. Don't forget that Levon Der Bedrossian was the one of the members of ''Karapagh Committee'', and he was the guy who was gonna sell Karapagh when he became president... H.H.SH. is still there, even if LDB is gone... as communism is, even Lenin - Stalin are in ''hell'' now... No one has the right to take such actions without consulting Armenian Government and Diaspora as well.
  17. Both of you are more romantic than the initiative you are talking about. Both of you seeing the surface, not the bottom. Ask yourselves first.- 1- Why this action is taking place at this moment? 2- Who are the sides? Do they have governmental represantation? 3- Where is Armenia? Diaspora? Turkey? At the end, every political statement has a romantic color to touch the hearts of people, but you have to be more smart to see what is deep inside! Don't be vochkhar

Miss Ayvazian is saying that he attacked on her for raping purposes, but for witnesses, he was trying to talk to her not in civilized way, by force I mean. Charents is very interesting guy, like all other famous artists and writers, who tried to change something in this life. No creation, no progress without passion. Only passionate people can bring new ideas and beleifs. Do you agree with me?
