  1. I would place Harut at the same level as President John F. Kennedy on my list of heros. I wish he would take up Armenian Citizenry and tun as President of Armenia!
  2. This is Old News!!!!! The count is higher than that. As of today, it is almost at the magic number of 218.
  3. All of you here, stop twirling your fingers and start moving it towards 218. It is above 205 at this moment.
  4. I have great respect for the Jews (who have forged an international presence), more than I have for our Armenians who fight among themselves while the Turks dance in Ankara. As for my mother, God Bless Her in Heaven, she had a very interesting and productive life doing business with the Jewish community. No wonder three of our nine first cousins married Jews. Given your statement, it is no wonder that my former statement that Armenians acting individually are brilliant but acting in unison are imbeciles. Talaat was correct when he predicted that the entourage of Armenians coming to kill him would be down to one Armenian by the time they reached his abode, since they would kill each other off as every one wanted to be the General and not one wanted to be a soldier.
  5. Edward, So typically Armenian of you, not to sense a perceptible change in the equation. Congressman Lantos SUPPORTED the Armenian Cause in the last go around. Are you stuck in 14th Century, at the fall of the Cilician Kingdom? The only administrative body for Armenians for 600 years was the Armenian Church, an institution stuck in the 4th Century. Animal sacrifices are still being performed. Best you perceive what is transpiring to better our cause.
  6. If there is truth to this, it will embarass World Jewry. The Jewish organizations would do anything possible to conceal this history. This only strengthens my beliefs, emanated from Eastern religions, that the Jewish Holocaust is a karmic after effect of the Armenian Genocide.
  7. Dodge an issue? You have not addressed that issue to me. How conveniently you change the subject after reading the links that I posted. Obviously, after reading them you realized that your argument loses credibility. Children raised by a homosexual parents will be ostrasized by their peers, but they will grow up without being phobic about homosexual relatiohships. As for what I think your argument is, no - being raised by homosexual parents does not raise the probabilty that the child will become homosexual. If they happen to be homosexual or bisexual, however, they will have an easier time being comfortable with themselves.
  8. While that was going on we were both having sex with women. Both the conservatives and the homosexual lobby approached the AIDS crisis from their very narrow perspective. Never has there been such a disastrous move in American epidemiological policy as in the early 1980's.
  9. Why are we down to the penetration of vaginas or anuses? Is that all there is to sexual attraction for hetersexuals or homsexuals? What about romance? Tender affection? etc?
  10. Here are a few links: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7791888/ http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/U.S._study_of_...ht_on_sexuality http://www.geocities.com/southbeach/boardw...1/biobasis.html No, I don't think that homosexuality is influenced and given my experiences at the hands of the Catholic clergy at a tender age, I should be an advocate of that theory of yours.
  11. I had a traumatic experience in 1982. I had an iatrogenic disease (look that one up) which was misdiagnosed as AIDS. The doctors screwed up royally and then could not even catch their mistake. I eventually realized what had happened after speaking with my former college roomate, an orthopedic surgeon (He is hetero). It was later realized that the occasional activities that I had been involved with had a very low probability of AIDS transmission. I saw my neighbors dying, including a few famous actresses who had bisexual boyfriends who also died. I decided to only stick with women after that. Mind you, I was not exclusively with any one sex before that time. My roomate at the time is heir to one of America's largest corporations. His grandmother was from Tiflis. He and I subsequently both got married to women.
  12. Two recent studies have proved conclusively that it is a genetic condition. One study studied the size of the hypothamus in gay men, the other studied the way the body reacts to hormones. The gay men's bodies reacted just like women to certain hormones.
  13. Are any of you here well-versed in genetics? Do you understand how green eyes are formed? Bisexuality is a unique condition different from heterosexuality or homosexuality, in the same way that green eyes are different form brown or blue eyes.
  14. WRONG!!!!!One can be homosexual or bisexual and NEVER conduct the BEHAVIOR. I am a bisexual male but have only been intimate with women for the past 25 years. Homosexuals or bisexuals have no control of being of that orientation per se. It is a "genetic condition" or a "genetic disorder" depending upon one's view. The only choice for homosexuals is whether to remain celibate, or for bisexuals to limit thier sexual relations to members of the opposite sex. Two recent studies have confirmed that sexual orientation is geneticaly based. You are just expressing your personal biases here.
  15. The only Armenian who has purchased any news outlets is Gerard Cafesjian. The Hyras own the Washington Post, New York Times, Associated Press, Time, etc., etc. We Armenians only piggyback on their news vehicles. Only renegades like Weinstein promote the Armenian cause. When our interests are diametrically opposed to theirs we lose out. Why are our leaders so blind? When are Kerkorian, Hovnanians, Manoogians, etc. going to purchase media and news outlets? .
  16. The pigeon is sitting in the slaughterhouse! What do you expect from him?
  17. Gates Warns Turkey Not to Invade Iraq By ROBERT BURNS AP Military Writer SINGAPORE (AP) -- Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Sunday cautioned Turkey against sending troops into northern Iraq, as it has threatened, to hunt down Kurdish rebels it accuses of carrying out terrorist raids inside Turkey. "We hope there would not be a unilateral military action across the border into Iraq," Gates told a news conference after meetings here with Asian government officials. Turkey and Iraq were not represented. Gates said he sympathized with the Turks' concern about cross-border raids by Kurdish rebels. "The Turks have a genuine concern with Kurdish terrorism that takes place on Turkish soil," he said. "So one can understand their frustration and unhappiness over this. Several hundred Turks lose their lives each year, and we have been working with the Turks to try to help them get control of this problem on Turkish soil." Tensions have heightened in recent weeks in northern Iraq as Turkey has built up its military forces on Iraq's border, a move clearly meant to pressure Iraq to rein in the rebels of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, separatists who launch raids into southeast Turkey's Kurdish region from hideouts in Iraq. Turkey's political and military leaders have been debating whether to try to root out those bases, and perhaps set up a buffer zone across the frontier as the Turkish army has done in the past. Turkey's military chief said Thursday the army was ready and only awaiting orders for a cross-border offensive. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Saturday urged Turkey not to stage a new incursion, saying his government will not allow the relatively peaceful area of northern Iraq to be turned into a battleground. Turks accuse Iraqi Kurds, who once fought alongside the Turkish soldiers against the PKK in Iraq, of supporting the separatist rebels and worry that the war in Iraq could lead to the country's disintegration and the creation of a Kurdish state in the north. At the Singapore news conference Gates was asked about a reported U.S. naval bombardment on Friday of terrorist targets in northern Somalia. "That's possibly an ongoing operation," he said, adding that as a result he would not comment on it. Gates was in Singapore to attend an international security conference known as the Shangri-la Dialogue, where he reassured Asian nations that the United States remains committed to being a Pacific power and is not distracted by the Iraq war. He said he did not ask any Asian government representatives to make new commitments to help in Iraq, but he did discuss with them at length the prospect of providing more assistance in Afghanistan. He said some countries, which he did not name, told him they were open to considering new commitments in Afghanistan. © 2007 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. 19. Armenia will never become self-sufficient until she has an outlet to the sea. Under present circumstances she is doing about as well as she can. Until the Turkish colonial empire is completely dissolved, Armenia will remain in a weakened state.
  20. Comrade Panchoonie By Yervant Odian, translated from the Armenian by Jack Antreassian, illustrated by Alexander Saroukhan Comrade Panchoonie (Good-for-nothing) represents an Armenian Revolutionary propagandist who is assigned by his party to visit the provinces and revive the nationalistic spirit among the people. The book is a series of letters in which he reports his activities and adventures to his superiors. In Panchoonie's character the psychology of Armenian nationalistic parties is mercilessly ridiculed. And it could not have been an easy thing for Odian to do: to point up the weaknesses and follies of movements that sought, no matter how ineffectually, to serve the national interest. Born in a suburb of Istanbul in 1869, Odian first published a short story at the age of 23. He just barely survived pogroms of 1896 and went into exile.
  21. Yervant Odian From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Yervant Odian (Armenian: Երվանդ Օտյան or Երուանդ Օտեան) (1869-1926) is considered to be the one of the most influential Armenian satirists. Odian's writings, which include novels and short stories, often humorously point out humanity's vices. He had the unique ability to conceive of and write stories at any given instant. In 1915, Yervant Odian was expelled from Istanbul due to the Armenian Genocide. He was able to avoid falling victim to the genocide by becoming a translator for German officials in the Ottoman Empire since he knew many languages such as Turkish, German and French. In 1918, after World War I, he took up the responsibility of collecting orphans left over from deportations in the deserts of Syria and placing them in orphanages. His only real source of income was through his writing. Odian spent the last days of his life in Cairo, Egypt where he was buried. Odian's most famous works include «Ընկեր Բանչունի» (Comrade Clueless) and «Տասներկու Տարի Պոլսեն Դուրս» (Twelve Years Out of Istanbul).
  22. For your information Shahan, Armenia gets the third most US aid money per capita after Israel and Egypt. Do you want to stop that money going to "Yerevan" also?
  23. My former password was very easy to break the code as it was the same as my "handle." Some "Tall Armenian Tale" person must been able to break in.
