Boghos, Since you live in South America and not the US, you do not undestand the situation here. The Armenians whose parents donated large amounts of money to build Armenian churches in the US are being "shown the door" by the new arrivals, who make little effort to take on the American culture. This is similar to the Armenian Protestants who built churches in Fresno only to have "white" odar later arrivals throw them out of the churches they had built because the Anglos considered them non-white.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the long-term Turkish-Azeri goal is to eliminate Armenia as a nation, literally wiping it off the face of the earth. Then Azeris and Turks can be settled in the present Armenian Republic. They will pursue a policy of starving Armenia so that all it's citizens move out of the country. They will deal with those who choose to stay in the manner that they have dealt with this in the past . So we should place all our efforts in weakening them. NO EU ever for Turkey. Keep them as poor as possible. Work to disrupt their world markets. Make sure that the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline never becomes a reality. Support Kurdish autonomy in Northern Iraq. Forget what Kurds have done to us in the past. Our goal should be to create as many problems for them as is humanly possible.

Vigil, My implication did not register with you, or you assume that there are only two classes in this regards-heterosexual and homosexual. That is not the case. Of nine first cousins, three married Armenans, including myself, three married Jews, one married an Assyrian and two married other Europeans. All three who married Armenians got divorced. My brother got divorced from his Jewish wife and married a Portuguese. The other are all still married. There are many Jews and their ges-ou-ges children in my family. I speak Armenian and have immersed myself in Armenian history, but because I am AC/DC and no longer a member of an Christian church many Armenians state that I am not an Armenian.

Koko, How do you think that Britain, the US and so many other nations throughout history became strong? By sucking the economic blood of other nations. With globalisation the formula has changed. Armenia has few natural resources, but a highly-educated populace. It has no choice but to enter the world market. The Armenian church is losing parishoners. Legislating against the competition is only a stop-gap measure. Satisfying their spiritual needs would be a much more effective approach.

koko, Fine-tuning Armenian culture and traditions does not equate with destroying them. You sound just like a Taliban, who wants to restore Islamic nations to the traditions of the 6th century. Animal sacrifices at Armenian churches should be stopped. Women should be given total equality in Armenian society. THe collusion between the Armenian Church and the Armenian government must cease. Discrimination against homosexuals and bisexuals should cease.

A person who is Armenian by blood, yet not Armenian by mentality, who nevertheless speaks the Armenan language and knows our history can be very valuable to the future of Armenia and the Armenain Cause.
