Recipe needed

My bottle of Ceasar salad dressing is empty and it's sunday, shops are closed here. I couldn't find the recipe for the dressing on internet, as if I'm the only one who doesn't know how to make it. So I figured, it shouldn't be difficult to obtain it here. I'll need it in an hour or so.

Actually, I didn't have all the ingredients, so I'll make the real thing tomorrow. The ansjovis, I never actually tasted it in the factory made dressing... I assume we are talking about the regular saulty ansjovis in oil?

I'll be careful with the ansjovis Mosjan, thanks.

Sip, are you serious about the (amount) ketchup?

Absolutely. I NEVER joke around when it comes to food as it is a very serious topic.

You may like to start off 50-50 olive oil and ketchup, but it better be extra virgin GOOD olive oil. I go a bit nuts with the vinegar sometimes but I like the acidity. Some may like to use vegatable oil instead of olive oil ... or maybe even just water but I have never tried it like that.

... oh but keep in mind this is not meant to be a Caesar dressing or a variation ... it's what I call the "Sip special". I got the idea from a cooking show once but their version was much more complicated. This one, is the 2-minute college student alternative. One day, I think I will put together an entire cook book just for grad students.

What's a rubber "husband"? [qb]

Ahem. Um... Elly, I don't know where you got this - but perhaps it's just a rubber band?

Or maybe this is a bit of Dutch humour?

CEASAR SALAD DRESSING

Preparation time: 10 minutes. Will keep for a few weeks in refrigerator. In blender combine:

4 eggs1 c. olive oil6 tbsp. lemon juice1 1/2 c. shredded Parmesan- cheese1 can flat anchovies2 cloves garlic1 tbsp. salt1 tsp. dry mustard

Serve with croutons and Romaine lettuce. Makes approximately 1 1/2 cups dressing. Everyone LOVES this dressing.

Or you could always make the Sip special which takes about 2 minutes:

1) Olive oil

2) Vinegar

3) Ketchup

4) Salt and Pepper

5) A bit of garlic powder

I like to add a bit of lemon juice but not too much. The quantity for the rest is totally up to your tastes. I don't like too much olive oil so I do maybe 2/3 ketchup 1/3 oil ... I also sometimes use rice vinegar instead of regular vinegar.

No, it's not Dutch humor. To use a rubber husband to peel garlic is one of the tips in this recipe: http://www.netcooks.com/recipes/Salads/Cea...asar.Salad.html

Maybe it's a kind of freudian typing mistake of the author

Hmmm. I think you muight be right about the Freudian thing... After all, there are other things that would be best treated by wrapping in rubber and rolling back and forth a few times, and perhaps husbands are among them ( did I just say that?? Pardon Me! Must be the wine... )

Personally, I just squish the garlic clove wiht a large chef's knife. The peel comes off by itself. No 'rubber husband' necessary!

Sip, here is a site for the ketchup lover: http://www.ketchup.wonderland.org/

I personally do not eat much even with fries.
