The first car was detonated by a suicide bomber outside an Armenian church in Baghdad's upmarket district of Karada, said policeman Haidar Abdul Hussein. Minutes later, a second car bomb exploded next to a Catholic Syriac church. Thick black smoke billowed in the sky above Karada, clearly visible for miles, as ambulances screamed through the streets and firemen battled to contain the blaze. Shortly afterwards, a car bomb exploded inside a church and convent in southern Baghdad, causing massive damage and casualties. Officials at the Ibn al-Nafeez hospital said 15 people had been admitted with injuries following the attacks and one of them later died. Six people with multiple burns were treated at the al-Kindi hospital and another two at the capital's neurosurgical hospital, said officials. Nervous police officers fired into the air and US helicopters circled the scene of the blasts as American soldiers were deployed in force around the two besieged churches. "It's a crime. Its Sunday, we were at mass. There were a lot of women and children," Bishop Raphael Kutami, from the Syriac church, said. A US military spokesman said "at least four explosions" went off in the central Baghdad area early Sunday evening. In Mosul, 230 miles (370 kilometres) north of the capital, two car bombs exploded outside a church in the early evening outside the Mar Polis church in the central Mohandessin neighbourhood, said Major Mohammed Omar Taha. They strongly agree on one thing - that they must subdue or kill their opponents - and disagree on minor issues such as theology, etc. Since they have not much brains the issues of disagreement should not matter much, anyway. Ok but to the terrorists defense, there's an Armenian Church in middle of freaking bagdad!!!! Give me a break ... "They" leave us alone? As much as you want it that way, the rest of the world doesn't subscribe to the freedom ideals we are used to here in the US. You put up a church with a giant cross on it in the middle of a fundamental muslim country and what else do you expect? However, do not get me wrong I am in no way implying that Islam is better then Christianity, but do not forget that Muslims and Arabs have helped Armenians at times when Christians and "Westerners" have turned a blind eye. This entire fiasco was caused by the "western" nations need for oil and the same "oil" seeking "westerners" in Iraq are the same ones protecting Azeri oil fields. In my opinion the responsible party is Bush and his administration. The same Turks that butchered you're ancestors were the same ones that are being protected by America and Israel. Armenians should distance themselves from the actions of Americans and the English or else we may soon find ourselves confronting Arabs.
