David
Go please to the site www.armenie,nl. It is as a matter of fact a Dutch site and according to me this site has been made by Turks. There are also translations in Turkish, German, French and English. What me disappoints is, that they try with this site ignore the genocide. Look or it, however, this way is. If so, then must be complained there certainly I think. I have as a matter of fact more often a e-mail sent to the site management, but no answer on my questions have received. Look just as after, if of your something to can do there.
Stormig
Mobilize the Armenian community (those involved in community life and events) to submit signatures to the Armenian embassy in Belgium (it is this mission that also oversees the Netherlands). Domain names that end in .nl ought to be under the supervision of an institution or two in the Netherlands. I may or may not be right. If the Armenian mission in Belgium takes the matter seriously, they should be the ultimate to plead to and also the ultimate power to be taken seriously. Hope it helps a bit. gurgen
I will spend all my free time fighting this site. Will let you know if there's progress. David
@ Stormig You are right, Domain names that end in .nl is Dutch / Netherlands. If you can read the Netherlands, then there 11 questions appear in Dutch. I think that these questions have negative meaning for the Armenian question (Genocide). Because I have which asks read in Dutch. It are no questions which help with the Belgian of Netherlands government to persuade Armenian genocide recognise, I think. I cannot say with 100% certainty. But I fear that it is, however, this way.

In the past, they have tried the same cheap trick with the domain name "armenianterror" and they took it off because that was putting them into trouble... the WIPO statments regarding this issue is clear. The organisation that run the site is "Forsnet" a Turkish compagny that has been subventioned by the Turkish foreign ministry to run this stup site, where they will just register many address and then take them off to not be placed in a problem... they will probably take that address off like they did with the previous one, because as Stormy stated, the Armenian embassy has the power to claim the domain. The thing is that if we move fast enough, we can threaten them with legal prossedures before they have the time to take that address off... but I know nothing such will be done, as the Armenian Embassy will probably sleep. Stormig
but I know nothing such will be done, as the Armenian Embassy will probably sleep. That is why the community must be mobilized. Certainly there are patrons and such or at least those that style themselves as such, and if they can get the ambassador to buy into the idea of making acclaim and publicity at home and all that glory, it could be done fast. Then at some opportune moment, for example, a while after having collected all the hoo-haa and accolades of having accomplished such an elegant mission, the ambassador might consider resigning or retiring and running for parliament. Just an idea. Sad, but true - politics within one's own domain will have to be used first.
David
maybe so, but they beat us to registering our own domain name You are right, because instead of that type advertisement, something else could stand under the (domain)name For example, that in the site was told concerning about us (ARENIANS). David jan any tiem that you use a www, name,nl as a like it's an advertisement for them MOvses Edited February 24, 2004 by MosJan
vava
For the .nl registration authority site: 4.1 Under what circumstances can I make a complaint or appeal in connection with a ‘.nl’ domain name? A complaint about a ‘.nl’ domain name may be made only under one particular circumstance. There are three circumstances under which you may appeal against a decision made by SIDN. Complaints and appeals are heard by an independent Complaints and Appeals Body (C&AB). The C&AB’s procedures are described in 4.2. The circumstances under which you can make a complaint or an appeal to the C&AB are described below. While a complaint, appeal or arbitration case concerning a ‘.nl’ domain name is in progress, SIDN will, if asked to do so by the C&AB or by the Arbitration Body, block all amendments to the holder’s details pending conclusion of the case. (See also 4.5.) 4.1.1 If you believe that a ‘.nl’ domain name is a threat to public order or decency Anyone who believes that a registered ‘.nl’ domain name is a threat to public order or decency may make a reasoned complaint to the C&AB. The C&AB can only consider complaints relating to the name itself, as opposed to complaints regarding matters associated with the name, such as the content of a website. There's more information at the link below: SOURCE If anyone can help begin an appeal procedure (to cease and desist from using armenie.nl), that would be a good start. nairi
Everyone in Holland is aware of this site, and when I say everyone, I mean everyone who can do something about it. No need for mobilization, since everyone already knows. This site, made by an unprofessional, ignorant Turk (I wouldn't dare call him a denier since he's nowhere near convincing or professional), is simply not a priority right now. The main question to ask here is: what is the point of getting this site offline? There are hundreds more out there that are much more "dangerous" as they are much more convincing. If we are going to begin deleting sites, shouldn't we start with ATAA or www. ermenisorunu. gen. tr even though this latter with its furniture banner/sponsor just makes me laugh as well? ... Stormig
So, David, do you live in the Netherlands, do you have connections with any community centres, and are you going to help do anything about this?
nairi
Vava, they beat us to "our" domain name, because we have nothing substantial to put there. As long as this is the case, maybe it's best to let the Turks have it. This guy, who owns this site, resides in Turkey btw.
Stormig
OK, Nairi, you have a point. But shouldn't Armenians have a say about what would be done in their name? I think that the issue, more than what is said, is about what is done with the name. I'd say the same if instead of a lame-arse site you had an adult site or one about making model ships under that address.
gurgen
maybe so, but they beat us to registering our own domain name Ah you are wrong my friend. vava
Nairi, I think the issue isn't necessarilt about the site's content - similar propoganda can be found just about everywhere. I think it's a little different to use one's proper name for defamation (a proper name that we must have rights to - at least locally here in Canada, CIRA administers domains in that manner). It's akin to to me purchasing the domain nairi.nl, and putting up a whole lot of articles written by 'doctors', telling the world how evil you are... even if none of it's true. Wouldn't you excerice your right to the ownership of nairi.nl? (I know this example is a bit hokey, but you get the idea....)

DominO123
The first step would be to see if the registraint has registered with his true informations, and if not contacting the SIDN, which will give the registeraint a warning because of a breach in the contract, as a result the stupid registraint may just refuse to give his true informations and may lose the site. If in fact it is the true informations, then we may decide to take some actions. ---------- Domeinnaam armenie,nl (volgend domein) Status actief Registrant Young New Media Costerstraat 14 1704 RJ HEERHUGOWAARD Netherlands Domicilie N/A Gebonden aan ADR nee Administratief contact G Genc +31 (0)871901192 postmaster@armenie.nl Registrar Webcreators Internet Services Raadhuisstraat 140 1961 GJ HEEMSKERK Netherlands Technisch contact G.J. van Halst +31 (0)72 564 5604 postmaster@armenie.nl Technisch contact E.
