The Little Things That Make My Day

Sometimes we take things for granted in our fast paced world and few of us remember to value the simpler things in life.

That urinal soap scent is priceless. Sometimes in spite of myself I can't help but just stand in the middle of a crowded bathroom and stare around in a dreamy haze as I take in it's aroma.

The sounds of the exhaust from cars at 7am and I can smell them in my bed as I'm debating whether or not I should wake up.

Watching people do stuff only makes me realize how cool I am for not doing it but that someone else, some place else, cares.

At the red light watching the light turn green so I can continue to go wherever I was going.

I enjoy paying my SBC bills so I can post on the forums.

What are the little things that make your day?

When was throwing dollars weddings an Armenian custom? Call me crazy but if I had to guess, I'd say that that little thing is perhaps the greatest materialistic add on to a wedding for little people ( Armenians ) I've ever seen.

I like the rest of your little stuff, particularly moms cooking.

hmm this is very weird....what a coincidence

today was a turning point for me...when driving to school, i almost got killed~great huh? some tiny lady in a huge van...when i was going straight ahead under a green light, she decides to swerve and almost crashes into me while trying to make a turn on a one way stop sign....she missed my car by less than a millimeter....if i hadnt honked or screamed i think i wouldve been a gonner...this really made me realize alot of things...as i pulled over and was shaking and scared...things just flashed before my eyes...all the things io take for granted...

i now know to appreciate every single second i have of life and every single negativity and good things as well....because your life can be over before you know it.....

what i appreciate NOW:

*my fam,ily and friends...even when theyre mad at me...

*school

*life in general

*the dew that sets on my car at 3:30 am when i have to clean my windows

*the drive to school-no matter how hectic it gets...even when it takes me 3hrs of driving

*and most of all im thankful for God---IMO--for watching over me....

many other things too...but i dont want 2 get too personal here...

forgot to add....a little thing that makes my day...little notes from friends r my mom on my desk or in my backpack....

also another little thing-when my friends cal me at 4am to make sure i got 2 school safely..

and the only materialistic thing ill mention-which has great value to me--no matter if its gold or made outta plain metal....my necklace my dad got for me--valentines day 2 yrs ago--he got one for my mom and since as he says "im his lil girl' and me and my dad are real close....its a plain white gold heart necklace...but the meaning behind it...priceless....because i was down that year...sad...he brightened my day..so whenever i look at the necklace or wear it, it reminds me of my dad... :)

~~watching the sunlight enter my room through the shades~~

~~smelling the fresh air outside as the yellow fall leaves fall on the grass~~

~~the purple sky handpainted for my visual enjoyment~~

~~remembering a kiss/someone from a long time ago~~

~~listening to a ballad and knowing that love can only exist within me~~

~~the happy tune of armenian lyrics in my head and sweet whispers in my ear~~

~~looking up at a full moon and wanting to be kissed under a weeping willow~~

~~the 1st time you kiss someone new~~

~~enjoying the beautiful melody of kanon and duduk~~

~~looking and smiling at an infant and watch them smile back~~

What is the relationship between certain aromas, smells etc stuff like that and the trigger of certain figments of memories? I notice a lot that certain smells trigger certain emotions and leads a lot of times to nostalgia.

I remember once walking through a side street in the city and I smelt some exhaust fume and it reminded me of a time in my childhood in Armenia when I smelt the exact same exhaust fume, it was pretty cool.

it has to do with the hippocampus ,the area of the brain involved with memory, which is anatomically close to the area that gets the sensory input from the olfactory nerve! pretty cool huh?? :P

Well one day I got tired of taking crap from females at the line for coffee at school, so I decided to go down to the costume store and get me a suit ( only for my face ) and figure out superpowers for me.

I decided I'd have the power to use my bodily scent as my own weapons. My secondary powers include throwing a cherry bomb while nekkid.

Hmmm,

* Seeing old couples together(gives me a warm feeling) (cheesy but true)

* Calling my girl at 6am in the morning for work and saying "du artun es?", knowing she's a hard sleeper. :sleep1:

* Being black and speaking either spanish, armenian or japanese and seeing people's reactions, ALWAYS makes my day. :smartass:

* Phone calls from my Mom or one of my two brothers

* Sitting in my OWN apartment, surrounded by my OWN things. :P
