Arts&Arms
The first days of January the first conference on planning of the "Cooperative Best Effort-2004" military maneuvers to be held in Azerbaijan within the framework of the NATO "Partnership for Peace" program will take place in Baku. Representative of the Defense Ministry of Armenia will also take part in the works of the conference. From the fact, how they will be received, will depend if Armenia sends its soldiers to Baku or not. In Baku they are already threatening the Armenian militarists that will take part in the maneuvers. The most active is the "Organization of Artsax Liberation" radical group. Its leader, Akif Nagi said recently that he was preparing actions against the soldiers from Yerevan. "We shall not allow the presence of Armenian soldiers in Baku," he said. The methods to be undertaken by the "liberators of Artsax" are not being disclosed. But, according to him, the “surprise” is going to be impressive. “Naturally, pickets will not be enough. The protests will be demonstrated in some other form,” Nagi says making it understand that actions of terrorist nature are going to be undertaken. “We are not afraid of arrests,” he stresses. “Tomorrow, when those radical measures are fulfilled, the member-countries of the UN Security Council will bear the responsibility for everything taking place,” Akif Nagi said in an interview with Baku journalists. His deputy Barat Imani appeared to be more sincere while speaking about the programs of the organization: “If necessary, we will organize terrorist acts right in Armenia”. Almost the same said the deputy of Milli Mejlis from the “Yeni Azerbaijan” party Asya Manafova: “We are ready even to follow the experience of the Chechen patriots and implement the actions of Shahid women,” she said. It should be noted that the official structures of Azerbaijan and particularly the law-enforcement bodies have not reacted to this announcements. These aggressive calls have not caused any reaction in Brussels. Meanwhile, the maneuvers are being carried out by the North-Atlantic Union and it is the NATO directorate to secure all the guarantees for the Armenian soldiers and officers. Maybe the best way would be to give up the idea of carrying out the maneuvers in Azerbaijan and to organize them in some other country that would be able to create more favorable conditions? http://www.panarmenian.net/details/eng/?task=issue&id=301 you guys, the link opens REALLY slow so bear with it! Sasun
Sounds like another unprofessional article of panarmenian. On the other hand, the Azeris have claimed many things before, so I wouldn't worry.
