angel4hope Posted November 25, 2003 Report Share Posted November 25, 2003 okie u guys im having a bit of a problem being able to concentrate on current tasks--i dunno whatas wrong eith me but im sitting here trying to write an essay but cant no matter what--it seems as though my concentration level is down to negative infinity--if it exists--i dunno--u guiys have any suggestions on what i can do to be able to concentrate on this task??please help! I'm not a good speller, but I do try. I prefer to read that guy calling himself Nasty, because him at least try. One of the behavioral treatments of ADD is focussing and try to do things correctly without jumping steps. So I maintain what should be your first treatment. I made a simple remark about ADD that was true, and read how you answered. My problem is not the spelling, I probably would do more mistakes(English being my 4rt language) than you if you were to write correctly. My problem is respect, if you want to discuss with people show respect, show that they at least worth the time you would take to write your words in their true forms. This is what manner is and I don,t think that I am asking you the moon. Ah and a last note... if the point is only to be made, and that the way is not important, OK, the next time you would want to go out, jump from the Window... afterall, you will get out. Yes, I too thought your intitial post asking for help concentrating was a bit silly...and I responded in kind (sorry...but I just couldn't help it)...but I see that you are having a real dilema and I'm sorry for that. So I will ernestly try to give you a suggestion or two. First - often we have ideas for the subject but they are not organized or coherently arranged...and the putting it down to paper is sometimes the most difficult part. What I would suggest then is to free form write your ideas - be they fragments or sentences or just words. Then I would suggest thinking of your project/essay as a whole and perhaps writing an outline. In any essay it is important to properly introduce your subject and give a brief overview or explanation of what you are trying to acomplish. You also should provide a summation at the end. The old I'm going to tell you what I'm going to tell you then tell you what I told you sort of thing. Then just put together all the rest of your ideas in the middle to support what you are saying - and there it is - not so bad. See. Although I wrote a previous draft of the essay, which my proffessor though was not my best, that I could do better if I rewrite it....this is what really set me off, I was doing fine with the previous draft, now I have to start all over again, and I am still thinking abou the other draft, and am not able to fuly concentrate on the new one..but I think if I sit down and free write I will be able to concentrate on it....THANK YOU I really appreciate it Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
