America-Hye
Shimon Peres now claims that he never stated that the Armenian situation in 1915-1916 was not a Genocide, just that there we no gas chambers (Pasadena, CA last night). I think that instead of condemning his earlier statements, we should embrace his present statement. Obviously he has either had a change of heart or his conscience has caught up with him. Perhaps Balakian's book has something to do with it, or perhaps the Israelis are realizing that the Turks are more concerned about their own hide than anyone else's, even Israel's Don't you think the Israelis are wondering about all the games the Turks are playing concerning Iraq? Would a true ally of the Israelis hem and haw they way they are? Just because the Turks agreed to send troops, the number and timetable are still up in the air. It may never happen, and if it does it will produce a Turkish bloodbath in Iraq. It is a lose-lose situation for them.

Now that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords has spoken. Now that the great prophet has prophesied we finally have His Holiness' permission to be. Hurray! Yahoo! Idiot! Who asked him in the first place? Who the hell is he that is passing judgment on Armenian affairs?I am waiting for the day when Turks set foot in Iraq. Maybe then they will be sent home in body bags instead of our American boys. I wonder if the those body bags will be made in TelAviv. America-Hye
Peres has much influence. He was peaking at a forum for distinguished leaders. Wake up, Arpa, without the Jews you can accomplish NOTHING. All the Arabs can do is sponsor suicide bombers. They are UTTERLY powerless. sev-mard
My friend was at the rally handing out fliers for the AYF...I mean for Peres to take back(change) his earlier comment, i'm not sure if that's a good thing. He's going out of his way to say that what happened in 1915 wasn't a genocide, and wasn't on the scale of the Jewish tragedy. By twisiting the wording, gas chambers, and the like, he's walking the line. Still in bed with groups that aren't the friends of Armenians. I'm speaking on the little I know, and talks with my brothers in the AYF and ANC, so I still don't think Peres is a trustworthy person. DominO123
I reject attempts to create a similarity between the Armenocide and the Jewish allegations. Nothing similar to the Armenocide occurred. It is a tragedy what the Jews went through but not a genocide. If I have to determine a position, it should be done with great care not to distort the historical realities. I want to note here, that the Jewish allegations are meaningless. Furthermore, the Diasporan relation with Germany is extremely good. Dr. Said gas chambers established in the Red Crescent Hospitals, called "desinfection rooms" are unique, I never said there was no Jewish genocide(even if I said it above), I just said there was no Gas chambers to elliminate the Jews, like there was in the cases of the Armenian genocide. DominO123
I forgot to add, that history should be left to the historians. Lets famous historians such as Irving tell us what happened.
Boghos
Very good Domino. Simple revisionism. Last time I saw Shimon Peres was at the Regency in New York. He was having breakfast, I was having breakfast. When I left he was still having breakfast, by himself. You see, he has breakfast this Shimon Peres. I was quite amazed...he has breakfast...yes...wow...Shimon Peres. Hagarag, look for Sharon Stone, ask her what she thinks of the Armenian Genocide. Stop fantasizing about older men for once. Stormig
The only thing that comes to mind here regarding Sharon Stone is that Sharon Stone is unlikely to mention what she thinks about the A.G. in an interview. I suppose as long as there are campaigns, people will care who thinks what and says what.
America-Hye
Boghos, You know NOTHING about bisexuality. Bisexuals statistically fantacize about younger, not older persons. My references to Peres are of a political nature vis-a-vis the Genocide. I do not fantacize about persons of his demeanor.

Statistically they fantasize...FANTASIZE...not "fantacize"...hagarag for a man of letters you are not doing well... Have you heard of "tongue in cheek" ? You seriously think that I would take your comment about Peres as anything but a ridiculous analysis of Armenian-Jewish issues ?
America-Hye
Boghos, I work TWO jobs and attend graduate classes. My value of my portfolio of investments has been greatly diminished due to the absurb economic policies and corruption of the Bush Administration. In my fatigue and pre-occupation with my studies, I sometimes make mistakes. English is not my first language. Until the age of five I spoke only Armenian and French. I sometimes post here when I take short breaks while writing term papers. I also have dyslexia. I looked up "fantasize" in the dictionary to note it's spelling as in my mind I thought it might be "fantasise." When I wrote it, my mind tricked me and I wrote "fantacize," as I knew than an "s" was wrong. How about you Boghos, you working TWO jobs and attending advanced studies? I already have under my belt a Master's degree yet I am pursuing further education in my relatively old age. As for Peres, do you realize that a group of Rabbis is backing the genocide bill which includes the Armenian Genocide? Do you know that there are Jews in my family who are half Armenian? The ANC khelatzis have garnered their support to help with our cause. You, on the other hand, can not get beyond your backward thinking.
