Persians Are Firmly Behind Armenians!

I was expecting more specific answers or some elaboration.

Hopefully America-Hye will provide that extra edge.

I also thought that given the fact that Armenia was for a long time an integral part of Soviet Union that its number one trade partner would be Russia because of the Russian type of infrastructure and industry and also in terms of previous administrative structure of Armenia as part of Soviet Union. Thus you must have come a long way quite fast implementing an industrial and administrative conversion.

But thanks anyway.

Persian Friend.

Persian Friend, welcome to the forum.

About the Christian Holy Trinity: you can't just find three people and call them a holy trinity. The 3 Magi are properly appreciated in Christianity, but please remember that they found and worshipped the baby Jesus, the opposite is not true.

Three of the young kids who died in the bombing of the nightclub in Tel Aviv last year were Armenians. Why is this being kept quiet? A community of Armenians lives within the Armenian sector of Jerusalem. There are even Armenians living in the new Israeli section of Jerusalem. The Israeli government has placed historical markers there to mark the accomplishments of hArmenian citizens.

Please contact http://www.pbs.org

and order the documentary "The Mystery of The Three Kings".

It could shed some light as to the origin of The Holy Trinity. You should see this as a sort of indirect rendering of events.

The remains of the three Persian magi were unearthed and moved and buried in a church in Cologne in Germany.

It will answer many of your questions.

Form a purely political standpoint (I mean don't mix religion into it) many Persians think that they were behind the creation of Christianity and they also subsequently accuse the Romans to be behind the creation of Islam. Sort of a tit for tat.

I will maybe later go into details as to why later on.

Thanks.

Persian Friend.

A European commission opinion poll that claims 60% of Europeans see Israel as the greatest threat to world peace has drawn outraged denunciations of anti-semitism. The poll surveyed 7,500 people in 15 EU countries who said Israel was a bigger threat to world peace than Iran, North Korea and the US.

Regarding the charge of anti-semitism that some have seen as implied by the poll results, the following passage from an article by Anatol Lieven in the May 2003 issue of "Prospect" is relevant:

"Finally, the use of the charge of antisemitism as a means of intimidating critics of Israeli policies into silence—an approach all too common in the US—should be publicly rejected by all who regard themselves as liberals. Its overuse, whether from cynicism or hysterical conviction, runs the risk of producing a self-fulfilling prophecy. Sooner or later, what should be a charge of crushing seriousness and moral weight will become a mere marketplace insult, and will produce in its targets just a shrug of the shoulders.

"Moreover, the widespread use of this charge deals a blow to civilised debate. Because by its nature it can be neither proved nor disproved in most cases, it leads discussion away from the clearly-lit arena of rational discussion and towards the dark corridors of paranoia and conspiracy, gloomy chambers of the mind in which even Blair's criticism of Israel can be attributed, as one American official recently remarked to me, to 'traditional British antisemitism.' "

I would like to know how the Armenians would have voted on this issue.

I would appreciate to see a sample of your views.

All the best.

Persian Friend.

Sorry Farsi Dost

WE have vowed on this forum, at least I have to not talk about Jews and Jewish affairs. As Armenians the Jews owe us nothing and we owe them even less.

As to "Antisemitism", yoy can call me an Anti Semite if and when I say something against the (close to billion)Arabs and all others including Ethiopians and such, who claim to have descended from Shem whatever that means and whoever that idiot may be.

I am asking this question since we Persians usually place more weight on what the Armenians think on this matter. (And I am not insincere)

The Arabic positions on this matter will certainly not be well-balanced because of their long-standing feud with the Jews because of Palestine.

But the Armenians by the virtue of the fact that they are not directly involved in Middle-Eastern affairs/conflicts and also because of their smaller weight in the region might be able to offer a more balanced and also objective view on this matter.

The Armenians in the region also don't share the same historical burden of Anti-semitism as other Christian European nations and that is why their position would offer valuable insight.

Thanks again for granting me permission in order to participate.

Any reasonably intelligent man can deduce that Jews actively engage in lobbing, contributing political parties and are formidable force to deal with. No wander every running presidential candidate in US must pledge unconditional support for Israel for even having a shot of being elected to office. Jews effectively recognized long ego that money, meaning active lobbing money, equals say what takes place in Washington! We should not be surprised or angry or even jealous. They are almost the same number of Arabs and Jews living in the States but Arabs contribution is miniscule in comparison. You really don’t need Armenians view since objective facts speak for themselves. Just do your math eight million Jews in US but turn the radio, TV, Film,Newspapers and you have the impression that they are the majority in this country. Go figure entire bookstore shelves devoted to Jewish and Holocaust studies. You get the picture? Nobody’s fault really, Jews simply advance their cause whatever that may be.

Come on Persian Friend, this forum is still free (I hope). You don't need to ask permission or thank anybody for being among us. The opposite. We are happy to have you in our company. Thank God, the forum experiences limited number of soviet style outbursts and treats like Why this is allowed or Why someone is not banned, etc... The forum tolerates Me, America-Hye, Ara Baliozian and even Teutonic Knight with whome I wholeheartedly sympatize with.

Hello Guys:

You know I always come to you with questions?

Are there any Armenian names that do not end in _ian?

The only Armenian that I know whose name does not end in _ian is the famous Persian-Armenian Tennis Superstar Andre Agassi.

His father used to box for Iran's olympic game several times.

What is interesting about his last name is that is also a Persian last name. One of the famous Persian folklore singer's name is Aghassi:

I would appreciate if you could elaborate.

Thanks.

A vast segment of Armenians wants to be recognized as victims. That’s what even the terminology “Genocide Recognition” suggests. It is a state of a psychological dead-end that the socio-psychological setup of the Armenian Diaspora has driven this segment into. It has resulted from several factors. First of all, Armenians have indeed been victimized. But the Genocide is only one of the victimization factors. This syndrome in the psyche of the Armenian nation has started way before the Genocide. It has a history of almost 300 years.

i don't agree with you.

1. it's not victim syndrom but, endurance syndrom that armenians feel proud of. by looking at the misfortunes during history it give greater hope and creates the feeling in peopls minds that they can endure current hard times and get on.

2. genocide recognition doesn't necesseraly suggest only that, it also suggests the fact that armenians want justice. and yes why not? let the wold know. i don't know about other people if they feel better when they are called victims, but it gives me personally more, well, pride. not because we were victims, but because we survived and even after the genocide had the vigor to fight and win in sardarapat, karakilis, aparan.

I really appreciate Persian support, and i realize that persians have been the only consistent friends of the armenians. lets not forget that the only part of ancient armenia which in controlled by armenia today is the part which was under persian rule.

anyway, i would like to offer a perspecitve from the younger generation of armenians, and i want you to understand that i am 100% armenian and extremely patriotic. if someone offered me ancient armenia fully restored with its churches, khachkars, and armenian people, who would finally have a secure homeland, i dont know that id be able to refuse. if i was offered the chance to kill a turk or azeri in exchange for my life, id probably be more likely to accept.

However, i think it is more important to secure the future of armenia. we are doing a decent job, our economy is improving, our voting fraud is less than other former soviet countries, but our press is not free, our human rights record is not terriffic, and from what ive heard our president is one sided...favoring only his side. anyway, i think this is deplrable. lets not forget that armenians are literate, educated, intelligent people, an ancient people as well as a people with numerous modern "clebrities" lets not forget that azerbeijan and turkey dont havea william saroyan or an aram khachaturyan. anyway, our economy is improving, but the rich are getitng richer and the poor are getting poorer. we need to fix this, we need to fix armenia, get rid of corruption and undemocratic ways of government such as the unfree press and media. we need to become part of the EU, but most of all we need to be united, a problem which in my opinion has been our biggest. forget about the jews with their money and power and realize that the reason they are succesull and got their gfenocide rcognized was because they remained united and supported each other. it is incredibly sad that armenians arent the same way. jews may be opportunistic, but not in regard to their own people...armenians are. we need to get rid of this inferiority complex we have and stop crying about the genocide and realize that the only way rto make progress is to move forward. that is the only way to achieve success, to make the world record armenia in their history books and to recognize the genocide.

as for retribution, i believe that the turks should take the stuff they stole from us and shove it up their a$$es. we need to forget about armenian lands in turkey, there is nothing even remotely armenian abpout them anymore. our churches and khachkars, as well as our people in turkey have been destroyed and turned into mosques, building materials and corpses. i think that armenians who had property in turkey should be compensated for them or be allowed to return if they so choose. but other than that, we need to focus on the azeris and on getting karabgh and nakhijevan back perminantly. we need the world to recognize that turkish lands are historically ours and the greeks and that the monuments or whats left of them are ours too. we need for the world to recognize the genocide, but we need to forget about lands in turkey...were not going to get them back, so why waste our efforts to regain land that has nothing armenian left in it?

what armenians need is to focus on their futures, to educate their kids, to have more kids...its rediculos that were having one or 2 kids while the turks and azeris are having a lot more. im having about 5...im only 19 but ill do it. my parents and most of my cousins had 3...good job. we need power, only then can we acheive anythgin...so lets start getting powerful. forget the turks and azeris, the rest of the world hates them anyway, lets just live with the satisfaction of that fact.

anyway i know you guys arent into religion and all, but theyre all going to hell anyway.

France loves us, germany hates turks...thinkg are getting better...

p.s. look at what has happend recently such as system of a down becoming a household name and promoting the recognition of the armenian genocide, look at agassi, balakian...were moving up in the world, and weve gained a lot of territory, after all, dont we control one of the largest states in the us?? Long live armenia and long live California...the symbol that william saroyans quote is true, armenians will persevere.

We love persians as well. From the point of view of a armenian politician, I would say : Down with Israel! Down with Turkey and their puppetregimes! Im saying this from the perspective an armenian politician would have, lets not forget that Israel and USA is allied with Turkey. Armenians are behinds persians forever, the two people will always be connected to eacother as we have been historically and culturally.

All you israel lovers out there :D its impossible for Armenia to like these countries, because of their treatment against us politically

The End.

germany hates turks...

Oh?

They were very big friends (or it's more correct to say that Turkey was Germany's lap dog) back there and they still are. The largest Turkish population in Western Europe is still in Germany.
