I'd like to see how Hye Forum members rank on the political compass. Go to http://www.politicalcompass.org and take the test. Discover something about yourself and post your results.

Let me start with my results:

Your political compass

Economic Left/Right: -2.12

Authoritarian/Libertarian: -1.64

See my graph here. I seem to be centrist with a leftist tint.

Thats interesting,

I got Economic Left/Right -3.25

Authoritarian/Libertarian 1.95

Authoritarian Leftie LOL, hehe same direction as Stalin. Actually I am quite surprised since I consider myself to be more of a centrist on economic matters, hence more like Hitler.

fun. I actually expected to come out slightly more conservative on my Economic Left/Right...though it is true - I don't trust most corporations...or governments for that matter (as can be seen!). Is it just me or does anyone sense a bit of a liberal/left bias to the questions (expected answers)...(and/)or did I just answer "correctly"? LOL

Economic Left/Right: -3.5

Authoritarian/Libertarian: -6.00

Hey Thoth,

I think you might be right - i looked over some of the questions, and yes - they are begging for certain 'correct' answers. At least, in my opinion...

quote:

Social workers waste their time trying to rehabilitate those who are simply born bad.

Hmmm. Are there people that agree with this statement? I mean, people being born 'bad'?? Or maybe I'm just being a leftist liberal

Vava - my thoughts exactly. Not that I completely disagree with my results - particularly regarding my Libertarianism - but I thought that the questions were slanted more to the "Liberal/Left" result. Overall I think its a prety good interesting test. Just to check it though I had guy who works for me take the test and he came out l/r: 4.25 and a/l: -0.1 ...which he feels is accurate. Now if he came out liberal/left I would have really suspected that someone was just trying to sell something!

Domino, I don't know how I ended up on the right, but I guess I have become somewhat conservative over the years. I must need to go back to school for a year just to get back on the left again.

THOTH,

have you heard of this Churchill quote, goes something along the lines:

"If you are under 30 and conservative, you dont have a heart. But, if you are over 30 and a liberal, you dont have a head"

Naturally, bieng Winston Churchill the original quote was more bombastic, but this was the underlyng message.

Accelerated - I am familair with this quote. And while my namesake was indeed a great and brilliant man - he was also very politically biased in his views and anything he said regarding political leanings & such must be taken with a grean of salt. I do understand what he was getting at...but what is the use of the head without a heart anyway...you need both...and those who lack the heart /have lacked it - are out Stalins. Mao Tse Dungs, Hitlers & such....great company eh?

I'd perhaps say more but gotta go...

Sure is! . Apparently, Stalin toward the end of his life, liked hosting drinking parties at his dacha. He would invite his closest associates (Mikoyan one of them), and encourage them to get drunk and perform scandalous deeds.....LOL And it was after one night of such binge drinking that he died

Reference: documentary film "Russias War: Blood Upon the Snow"

Actually it was a pretty sh!t documentary

That places me almost in the category of Domino on the Economic Left/Right and with only Winston and Domino more libertarian on the Authoritarian/Libertarian scale. I thought that I would score more right on the economic scale than I did, but was surprised that, as a bisexual who believes in a woman's right to choose, that two others here scored more libertarian than I did.

I agree with Nairi. There were many things that I was neutral on, but was forcer to choose one way or the other. This is why I think I was on the right.
