MJ
From what I understand, you parents have brought you to this world at a very late age. I am sure they have brought you up as the "Gift to Humanity." Your pathological deceases are symptomatic for such families. But if I have made an impression that your transfer would give me satisfaction - I am sorry to give you such impression. First, if I knew how, I would've helped you to get proper therapy; second, you are too insignificant of a misfit to make difference for me and for most of the people on this earth. khodja
My parents had to overcome the traumas of the Genocide and find stability before bringing children to this world. Lucille Ball also defied the common beliefs and began at 40. And they didn't stop with me. As for your repeating your comments about my so-called psychoses, none of the illustrious sociologists and psychologists who studied me ever came to your conclusions. An odd-ball is in the eyes of the beholder. They scored my IQ at over 180. An odd-ball indeed.
gamavor
MJ, I agree with your argument, but the thing is that we (I mean Armenian Church) take the Old Testament as a reference and some times as a historical document and explanatory for what were meant to happen (i.e. the arrival of the Only Begotten).I still believe that God's intend was to give humans everything at no price (free will and the right to choose included), and after some time ask them for the check, according to everyone's expenses. In that sense I don't see how Old Testament's postulates might serve as kind of a binding articles, or maybe they were clues for proper behavior for the people of the Old Testament. MJ
I gather these psychologists/sociologists also had IQ of more than 180. But, again, if I knew how to help you, I would do it. But the whole nation of England couldn't cope with the foot-and-mouth decease. What can I do?

I was just referencing what is written in the book. Moreover, the Old Testament is not my favorite book – in this case I totally agree with the Armenian Church. khodja
If I was not sane don't you think that those who know me would have ascertained this years ago? Long live the Tondraketsi!!!!!!!!
MJ
But why would they keep you around if they were sane? For example, what do the Tondraletsi have to do with this conversation other than as another testimony of your foot-and-mouth disease? MJ
quote:Originally posted by gamavor: Actually his work, (I’m not aware of anything else besides “Hell” is rather socio-political-psychological than theological. In the context of Christianity the concept of "Hell" itself is of socio-political-psychological character. According to the scripture, the word "Hell" means nothing else but "grave," implying that those who don't by the Grace of God enter the Eternal Kingdom, remain dead in their graves. Everything else describing "Hell" is the imagination of writers or comes from other religions.
khodja
Martin, I see that to you the only sane ones are those who cling ever so closely to traditional beliefs and behaviors. You may believe that the way Armenians interact with each other is sane. I believe that it is totally insane and is the primary reason we usually get nowhere as a national group. The only recent exception to this was getting the Genocide Resolutions passed in Europe and the near miss in the US last year. For once pragmatism prevailed. Now we are back at each other's throats and they are dancing in Ankara. When will the majority of Armenians learn religious and social tolerance? MJ
As one of our members said once, the greatest crime that the Ottomans have committed against Armenians is the creation of psychopats like you. You would prefer not to deliberate further on this subject.

If man had free will, that would mean that God's power would be limited in some way. And if God is all knowing, doesn't He already know how each person will live his life, and have set up an eternal destiny for him? If one's actions are already planned out and his destiny determined, how can one have free will? Additionally, it is a fact that Jesus had an older brother. With such a vital element as the virginity as Mary being proven false, how can we continue to trust in the validity of the Bible?
khodja
James was not only the brother of Jesus but the person who headed the Jerusalem Church after Jesus was placed on the cross. There is so much that has been concealed.
khodja
In line with your thinking Martin you can begin with Michael Arlen, best selling author of the 1920's who stated "Who would claim to be Armenian if they were not." FYI, this guy was born Dickran Kouyoumjian, but never admitted to being Armenian. Many others like this exist today, some in the highest echelons of Western societies. gamavor
Dear Anshnork, If everything is set up and predestined before hand, what is the purpose of life? There are different paths and you can choose which way to go. You can not create a new path, but you can choose which way to go.
