skittles, finding reasons to live are something personal, something that I may consider worth to live for, you could consider it is not a reason.

Love makes you happy, there may be many things that could make you happy. Don't tell me thee is nothing else than love that makes you happy, this is not true. Hyeforum makes you happy, the reason of that is that you come here and post... so you could consider it one among many other reasons for you to live.

I believe life is a huge class room, you learn something new everyday. It's full of challenges where you get a sense of accomplishment when you succeed in what you work at. You have to look at the past present and future. If the individual just looks at the present and not the future, they have nothing to look forward to. They might be afraid of making a mistake, but you need to make those mistakes in order to learn from them. :)

Life is what you make of it, how you see it, live it, the choices available to you and the decisions you make in the end... Its in your hands and no one elses..if life has a meaning, then each and every one of us has our own opinion of what it may mean.. its up to you to find out what it means to yourself..

Last year I was at that age (19) where I started questioning everything, and everything in this world seemed to fall apart. I thought life was purposeless and constantly wondered why people just continued to live (versus commiting suicide). But then I came to the conclusion that the meaning of life is that we come to this world, meet other people, hopefully fall deeply in love, share ideas and thoughts, try to learn more from previous generations, and so on and on, from one generation to the next. And the way life is in this world is that everybody's constantly waiting for something, and everybody's wondering what's going to happen next. And I think this constant wondering and guessing also gives meaning to life. So I think the meaning of life is to learn as much as we can about this world.

Life is meaningful only when it goes above the egocentric concerns. "Whatever makes you happy", "whatever makes you feel better", and variations thereof are meaningless. While we are inevitably important to ourselves, we should know that our individual selves are utterly unimportant in defining something as grandiose as "meaning of life", which must lie in something more permanent than individuals. Our lives gain meaning to the extent that we contribute to the "humanity project"; that big, messy, chaotic collection of pretensions that declares us to be more than walking collections of molecules moving according to the laws of physics (which of course we do). Humanity and our lives in it as something more special than automatons made of atoms created from the debris of old stars is a self-created illusion that defines our reality. I can only see meaning in life to the extent that it enriches and beautifies that collective "humanity" project that only exists as a fleeting experience and gets passed on from one generation to the next every instant.

To tie this into the reason-of-existence of this forum, I can say that cultures have meaning and a good reason to exist only to the extent that they enrich, deepen, and beautify the "humanity" project. I can think of some cultures that would contribute best by ceasing to exist (and would have been better not to have been created in the first place). Now the questions to ponder are: what worthwhile contributions has the Armenian culture made, is making, and is well-poised to make to the humanity project?

The meaning of life isn't really a meaning at all. It is a simple thought which everyone asks themselves before they decide to kill themselves. Life is who you hurt, it is who you love and annoy. Your happiness is a nice thing but your love for others is something that will be remembered and thought of when you are gone. You have one chance, don't hurt too many people, it wears and tears at your own soul.

Twilight Bark,

Every nation's past, present and future, as well as its contrubution to the project humanity, is communicated to its greatest representatives by that nation's archangel and engraved in it's epic.

Armenian nation has passed the periods of its Indo/Iranian identity (King Gagik, Sanasar, Baghdasar), the period of the Egyptian initiation (Mets Mher/Msra Meliq) and at present is at the end of the Christian-European (Sasuntsi Davit) period. And our mission is Poqr Mher, which is a collective goal for many other nations.

Hmm... interesting. Can you expand more on this? particularly, what is the mission of Poqr Mher?

Life is nothing but a huge roller costar (some shorter then others). You have your up days along with your down. When we think everything is under control, other problems start picking there ugly heads. Just when we start getting used to the problems that life offers, the ride is over and we die.

So live life to the fullest, you never know when your ride is over. :)
