nairakev
Legendary Mentashev (Mentashian). Which is well-known personage among soviet armenians, but forgotten by "international" business historians. Meanwhile he was once Russia's richest man, he had stocks of Norwegian Akzo Nobel (if i spelled correctly) oil Company as well. He had discovered the oil in Baku (Azerbaijan). There are lots of funny stories (anecdotes) about him. He was known as a very big "miser", not surprising, otherwise he wouldn't have become an oil magnat :-) Here is one of those stories. Mentashev had a habitual hairdresser in Baku. Which he paid always 1 rouble for his haircut. Once the hairdresser (armed with braveness) decided to ask a question. "Mr Mentashev why your son pays me always 10 roubles for his haircut, and you only 1?". "Because he is a son of Mentashev. And me? Who's son am I?" - replied with irony Mentashev. _______ http://www.armenianforums.com Visit ArmenianForums.com we are in Europe, but we welcome all for open discussions
