shiner
I thought Norway was the first country to allow the women to vote, but I could be wrong.

dragon
Why should I translate to you Rose? Don't you know that this is armenian Forum? As if I'm going to White House and ask people there about Bush's secret meeetings in Armenian... Do I get answers???
ThornyRose
That's very sweet of you, Dragon.Yes, it is an Armenian forum, but there are Armenians like Winston who do not speak Armenian.Additionally, you addressed me, did you not? Or is there a word in Armenian that starts with a capital letter, "Rose"?If you have something to say, speak it in a common means of communication. Else, zip the lip.Don't you ever go to Turkish forums? What do you do when they talk to you in Turkish, which I assume you do not know?Given the friendly atmosphere of this forum, unless you were kidding with me right now, I do not not find this approach of yours friendly at all.Was there something I said that you had wanted to object to? dragon
I was trying to force you to find the solution for your ''problem''. Winston is not happy for not knowing his language, I guesss. What you both have to do, is to start learn armenian! As simple as that! Do you agree with me Vartanoush??? (Vartanoush =''Rose'' in armenian) If I go to Turkish forum, yes, I can chat with them in Turkish, cause I know the language well. I said all I had. Any comments??? ThornyRose
Yes, Dragon, I have comments. Nobody learns a language because someone displayed cowardice in translating their own words. For your info, my books are on their way. Greek and Armenian. However, learning a language because someone prompted me to is not my concern.Additionally, I am flexible enough to change my example (in which I did courteously point out an assumption so you wouldn't miss the essence, but you chose to utterly ignore it): if you want to chat with Egyptians, who do talk among themselves in English anyway, do you have to learn Arabic so that some smart aleck may not take your time? OK, if you know Arabic, make that Kenyans and Swahili... (Do you know that, too?) [ May 31, 2001: Message edited by: Thorny Rose ]
dragon
Yea, you're right , I think we can still feel as if we are the first, comparing to the civilized world, I mean US, UK, France and the others. This is a very good example to understand that democracy exists in Armenia long time ago, it was there all the time, in our lives, but we were waiting for the freedom to come... Vartanoush, Filiz, Haroutig, me and the others have no problem to understand each other, so don't try to mess up our relation... Be sure that it will hurt .-1- Men, who want to be mum1- Women, who try to be silent2- Generations, who are trying to compose ''Turkicoarmenian'' new serenades... dragon
Dear Domino,My dreams were full of excitements as you wished (I was flying all the night...don't ask much, I won't tell you...) Besides, I have no problem to communicate in English, which is my 4th language, but I have the right to write in Armenian (s) too, and this is a privilege for being Armenian I guess, don't you think so??? Guest Fadi
dragon As Much as I know this forum communication language is English, I try to communicate in English, even if I could shoose French to communicate with some(Anoush), but with these "some" I communicate in English, because I respect the language of this forum. This site language is English the forum is English. I guess that the forum master made his site English in order that guests could read it also. First of all Armenian language is so terribly read in latin alphabets, and I have difficulty to read Eastern Armenian and understand it 100 % like I'm sure that a Eastern Armenian will have difficulty to understand 100 % of what I could write in my little simplist Armenian knowledge, and to make this even harder writen in latin caracter. So English is easier for everyone. This board is Armenian, but comparing it with an Armenian house, is the door not open for guests ? Specialy for special persons like Filiz. I do not see the logic of writing her in Armenian, when she don't know the language, it's like having fun in her back. And for sure she will not try to learn Armenian just for the plesure to understand what fun you are having in her back.
