Hackers' Cables: Turkish Intelligence Service Aware of Reyhanli Blasts

TEHRAN (FNA)- Redhack, a group of Turkish hackers, released a series

of cables revealing that Turkey's top secret gendarmerie intelligence

service was aware of Reyhanli blasts in Hatay province by the

terrorist al-Nusra group.

 

Redhack, a hacker group from Turkey, released a series of cables that

revealed the dawn of Reyhanli twin blasts through the top secret files

of Turkey's Gendarmerie Intelligence Office Administration.

 

The group announced the release of cables via twitter, pledging for

answers behind the Reyhanli twin blasts.

 

The top secret files released by the group dated back May 20 - 9 days

after the deadly incident that killed at least 51 civilians in the

Southern city of Reyhanli, Hatay.

 

One cable revealed the details of several vehicles loaded with bombs

and explosives to be delivered to pro-Al Qaeda groups in Syria.

 

The bombs and explosives may be used in a plot against Syria, it said.

 

Another cable reported that militants from the al-Nusra Front

terrorist organization replaced bombs and explosives in 3 different

vehicles to be used in a plot against Turkey - the information that

confirmed the first.

 

The cables said that the Turkish intelligence agency which was aware

of all these plots didn't turn a hair to prevent them.

 

A third cable claimed that officials in Hatay Police Headquarters

received an anonymous phone call which alerted the upcoming plot and

informed on some of the reports that appeared in the media.

 

On 11 May 2013, two car bombs exploded in the town of Reyhanli, Hatay

Province, Turkey. At least 51 people were killed and 140 injured in

the attack. The attack was the deadliest act of terrorism to occur on

the Turkish soil.

European and International Criticism of ;EU Decision to Lift Arms Embargo for Gunmen in Syria

VIENNA, (SANA) – Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced his country's opposition to supplying the "Syrian opposition" with weapons, warning that Syria might witness more violence, killing and destruction if the EU provided the gunmen with weapons.

 

"My strong view is that the only way to end the suffering of the Syrian people is a political solution," AFP quoted Baird as saying to the reporter on Tuesday, adding that flooding Syria and the region with weapons would lead to "more violence, more death and more destruction."

 

He stressed that Canada "has no plan of following suit" with the Europeans, expressing concern over the number of "jihadists" within the ranks of the "opposition".

 

"Our strong concern is the number of jihadists who have entered parts of the opposition, and in our view, the situation is not getting better. It's in fact getting worse," Baird warned.

 

Austria Voices Disappointment at French and British Stances

 

In the same context, Austrian Foreign Minister, Michael Spindelegger, stressed that France and Britain have sought since the beginning to reject the Austrian suggestions regarding the issue lifting arms embargo to 'the Syrian opposition'.

 

"But we have succeeded to some extend in confronting sending weapons to the opposition officially," Spindelegger told Courier Newspaper.

 

"That the EU did not reach an agreement regarding lifting arms embargo to the Syrian opposition on Monday is not a reason for withdrawing the international Austrian unit working in Golan directly…there is no need to take such a move for the time being," Spindelegger said, adding "the future of the international Austrian unit is decided by Austrian military experts in cooperation with the UN."

 

The Austrian Minister clarified that the disagreements that took place in Brussels on Monday were expected, pointing out to the importance of the EU nature, being a community that rejects giving weapons to areas of military conflicts despite the desire of some states such as France and Britain to contradict that.

 

In a similar context, Australian Defense Minister Gerald Kellogg, stressed that he commissioned the Austrian Chief of Staff with forming a military commission of experts to study the situation of the Austrian unit working in Golan and the level of its readiness in case that the Austrian government would withdraw its forces.

 

Kellogg expressed disappointment of the French and British stances and that Austria could not achieve a full success in stopping the lifting of arms embargo.

 

He said that London's allegations of not sending weapons does not mean that the extremists in Syria have not been getting weapons now.

 

Fourteen European states are against lifting arms embargo, on top of which are Austria, Czech and Sweden, while Britain, France, Italy and Cyprus are among those which call for lifting the embargo. Germany on the other hand is cautiously reserved.

 

Czech Criticizes EU Decision to Lift Embargo on Terrorist Groups

 

Earlier, the Czech Foreign Minister, Karl Schwarzenberg, criticized the European Union's decision to lift the embargo on sending weapons to the armed groups in Syria, saying "the Czech failed in its efforts to prevent that from happening."

Belgian Minister for Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders said that his country will not provide weapons to opposition gunmen in Syria.

 

Reynders said that there are no guarantees as to who will receive the weapons and there is a possibility that the weapons could fall in the wrong hands, in addition to the risk of weapons spreading and being sent to other countries, which would undermine the region's stability.

 

He also regretted that the EU couldn't reach a unified position on this issue, saying that Europe lacks cohesion.

On May 5, the UN Independent Commission of Inquiry on Syria said

it found testimony from victims and medical staff that showed

foreign-backed militants had used sarin in Syria. The nerve agent has

been classified as a weapon of mass destruction in UN Resolution 687.

Several Turkish newspapers reported on Thursday that two kilograms

of sarin gas as well as heavy weapons were discovered during raids on

the homes of 12 members of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front in

Turkey's southern city of Adana, located some 150 kilometers (93 miles)

from the border with Syria.

 

The terrorists, who were allegedly planning a large attack in the

city, were formally detained on the order of Adana's top court,

Turkish media reported without clarifying their charges.

 

Turkish authorities have not confirmed the media reports yet.

 

Adana's governor Huseyin Avni Cos has denied the confiscation of sarin.

 

The incident took place weeks after two car bomb attacks killed

52 people and injured over a hundred others in the border town of

Reyhanli in Turkey's southern province of Hatay on May 11. Turkish

protesters blamed Ankara for the attacks due to its support for the

armed groups inside Syria.

 

On May 5, the UN Independent Commission of Inquiry on Syria also

On March 19, over two dozen people were killed and many others injured

by Syria's official news agency SANA.

 

The Syrian government says Ankara has been playing a key role in

fueling the unrest in Syria by financing, training, and arming the

militants since the turmoil erupted in March 2011.

Information Minister: Erdogan Should Respect His People's Will and Leave to Doha

DAMASCUS, (SANA)- Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi called for releasing the prisoners of conscience in Turkey, stressing that there is no justification for the arrest of this huge number of peaceful demonstrators.

 

Answering questions of the reporters on Sunday, the Minister said the use of excessive force in the face of the Turkish people is wrong, pointing out that the Turkish demonstrators are not terrorists.

 

Al-Zoubi said there is still an opportunity for Erdogan to halt the violence in Turkey, stressing that Erdogan should respect the will of his people and leave to Doha that might host him.

After nearly a week of increasing public protests in Turkey,

ostensibly over government plans to turn a last bit of green space in

Istanbul into another shopping mall, matters became far more serious

on Friday. Riot police descended on the protestors with various forms

of tear gas (and possibly worse chemical and biological agents -- raw

sewage?) and water cannon, blasting everyone and everything in sight

including non-participants. When they caught protestors, they beat

them violently and brutally, as can be seen in this video. Photographs

show that police fired tear gas into crowded underground metro

stations, leading to panic and worse. Istanbul looks like a war zone.

 

Today indications are that protests have only increased in number and

fury in response to the violence with which they were met yesterday.

 

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has come under increased criticism

at home over his enthusiastic support for those fighting to overthrow

the government in neighboring Syria. Turkish government support for

the rebels came early and has included providing safe havens for the

Islamist insurgents and safe passage into Syria from Libya, Yemen, and

other countries of the insurgents' origin.

 

Erdogan's stated policy of "zero problems with neighbors" has been

turned on its head by his support for the rebels fighting next door.

Public dissatisfaction with the Turkish government's policy of

encouraging an Islamist insurgency next door has steadily increased.

 

The insurgents fighting the Syrian government were still unsatisfied

by the level of support they received from their Turkish hosts and

they took to false flag attacks in places like Reyhanli and a planned

false-flag sarin gas attack on southern Turkey in Adana in attempt to

provoke a Turkish (and NATO) military response against Syria.

 

Suddenly the tables are turned at home.

 

Faced with a nascent but growing protest movement of his own, Erdogan

expresses a very different view toward the people in the street. The

Prime Minister strongly supported the "Arab Spring" overthrow in Egypt

and supports the overthrow of Assad next door because he said the

leaders of these countries did not listen to their people. Just last

week he met with President Obama and agreed that "Assad must go." Now

with protesters in Turkey chanting "Erdogan must go" he is singing a

different tune. Now "the people" he claimed to speak for -- on the

streets in Egypt and Syria, at least -- were, in Turkey, "with terror,

have dark ties," in his words.

 

Suddenly "the people" are not so noble when they are calling for his

ouster. With the tables turned on Erdogan, he can only demand order!

"I call on the protesters to stop their demonstrations immediately,"

he thundered yesterday.

 

Erdogan caught the tiger by the tail and thought he would become a new

Ottoman Sultan. Reality bites back hard on the streets of Istanbul and

elsewhere. This is far from over.

British-Drafted UNSC Statement on al-Quseir Untimely

MOSCOW, (SANA) – Russian Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson, Alexander Lukashevich, said on Monday that the British initiative to issue a UN Security Council statement on the Syrian city of al-Quseir "can harly be called timely and it is impossible for Russia to accept such move."

 

Lukashevich pointed out that the city of al-Quseir has been under the control of the armed groups and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists since last February, and the Syrian army is completing a counterterrorist operation against these groups who terrorized the population of Quseir for months without restraint.

 

“In this situation, Great Britain called for issuing a statement by the U.N. Security Council. Basically, it demanded that the Syrian military cease fire unilaterally and let the bandits encircled in several city districts get out,” he said.

 

“Russia could not agree with this position. We stated our disagreement and the draft did not pass,” the spokesperson added.

 

“The proposal that the international community should raise its voice at a time when the Syrian army is finishing a counter-terrorist operation against the armed groups who have been terrorizing the population of the border-lying Syrian town for several months can hardly be called timely,” Lukashevich said.

 

He noted that “no one drew attention to the suffering of al-Quseir’s residents because of the practices of the armed groups," stressing Russia's firm stance which highlights the necessity of halting all forms of violence in Syria and ending the suffering of citizens, in addition to shifting to the peaceful political settlement based on Geneva Communiqué issued last June and the Russian-U.S. accord which was reached on May 7th in Moscow.

BRUSSELS (SANA) - In a bid to keep European Union citizens from going to fight along with the armed terrorist groups in Syria, the EU anti-terror chief Gilles de Kerchove said Wednesday he wants member nations to be more aggressive in vetting extremist social media and keep more personal data on suspicious travel.

 

De Kerchove said the issues will be picked up by EU interior ministers in Luxembourg on Friday as they seek to contain the scale of foreign fighters leaving EU nations to take up arms with extremist opposition groups.

 

There are fears in many EU nations that citizens who leave to fight with extremist groups with links to al-Qaeda might return home radicalized, with new knowledge and training, and the intent to set off a terror attack.

Belgian Channel Broadcasts Video of Belgian Terrorists Beheading Man in Syria

BRUSSELS, (SANA) –Belgian TV channel broadcast on Friday a video recorded in Syria showing terrorists speaking French and Dutch with a Belgian accent before beheading a man.

 

The Belgian Federal Office of the Attorney General said that the video, which was broadcast by the Flemish channel VTM, will be examined as part of an investigation of Belgians heading to Syria to fight there.

 

The video shows an older man who is lying on the floor, either dead or passed out, while youths cheering in Dutch with a distinct Belgian Flemish accent as one of them decapitated the man with a knife.

 

According to Belgian authorities, dozens of Belgian citizens traveled to Syria to figtht alongside armed groups affiliated with Al Qaeda, with most of these men coming from Flanders and Brussels.

European Officials: Western, US Policies in Syria Failed

VIENNA, (SANA)_Former Austrian Defense Minister Werner Fasslabend said that the situation in Syria is a typical example of US and European fiasco as their policies in tackling the situation there have been met with failure.

 

In a statement to the Austrian Die Presse newspaper, Fasslabend said that the international community should have mediated for ending the crisis instead of taking sides, pointing out that the insistence of Paris and London to provide the opposition with weapons poses a threat to the Austrian soldiers operating within the UNDOF forces in Golan.

 

The ex-minister expressed regret over the Austrian troops' pullout from Golan, calling the Austrian government to press ahead with efforts for preserving world peace and security after it has proved itself to be a credible mediator.

 

Austria announced intention to pull out troops operating within the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force in Golan (UNDOF) after they came under repeated attacks by the armed terrorist groups recently.

 

Solana: Any Attack on Syria Will Set Region Ablaze

 

Former EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana said that any military attack on Syria will set the region ablaze and risk a broadening of the state of chaos and instability for years to come.

 

In an article published by the Austrian Der Standard newspaper, Solana said that the right solution to the crisis in Syria is political and diplomatic, based on dialogue and the international conference on Syria that is attended by Russia and the US, until reaching a consensus solution.

 

Solana considered it wrong to set preconditions for negotiations in Geneva, especially about the future of the Syrian leadership, indicating that the Europeans have to find a diplomacy to deal with that.

 

Solana called the Europeans to find a strategic common ground to establish security and stability in the Middle East for ''it serves Europe's interests,'' emphasizing the importance of Iran's participation in the international conference on Syria.

 

Solana warned of the consequences of chaos in Syria and the region unless all international and regional parties reach a political solution and stop the flow of weapons to Syria.

 

For his part, former NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer stressed the importance of finding a political solution through Geneva conference, with all parties, including Iran, Turkey, Gulf states, Russia, the US and Europe taking part.

 

Der Standard quoted Hoop Scheffer as saying that ''with some European countries inclined to arm the opposition and regional countries to set preconditions for negotiations, the likelihood is that Geneva conference will be faced with more hurdles, which makes it difficult to come out with positive results.''
