(AINA) -- A top secret memo sent by the Ministry of Interior in Saudi

Arabia reveals the Saudi Kingdom sent death-row inmates, sentenced

to execution by decapitation, to Syria to fight Jihad against the

Syrian government in exchange for commuting their sentences.

 

According to the memo, dated April 17, 2012, the Saudi Kingdom

negotiated with a total of 1239 inmates, offering them a full pardon

and a monthly salary for their families, who were to remain in the

Kingdom, in exchange for "...training for the sake of sending to the

Jihad in Syria."

 

The memo was signed by Abdullah bin Ali al-Rmezan, the "Director of

follow up in Ministry of Interior."

 

According to the memo, prisoners were of the following nationalities:

Yemenis, Palestinians, Saudis, Sudanese, Syrians, Jordanians, Somalis,

Afghanis, Egyptians, Pakistanis, Iraqis, and Kuwaitis.

 

There were 23 Iraqi prisoners.

 

A former member of the Iraqi parliament, who spoke to AINA on condition

of anonymity, confirmed the authenticity of the document and said most

of the Iraqi prisoners Saudi Arabia sent to Syria returned to Iraq and

admitted that they had agreed to the deal offered by the Saudi Kingdom,

and requested the Iraqi government to petition the Saudi government

to release their families, who were being held hostage in Saudi Arabia.

 

Yemeni nationals who were sent to Syria also returned to Yemen and

asked their government to secure the release of their families,

according to the former Iraqi MP, who said there are many more

documents, like the one shown below, about Iraq, Libya and Syria.

 

Initially Saudi Arabia denied the existence of this program. But the

testimony of the released prisoners forced the Saudi government to

admit, in private circles, its existence.

 

According to the former Iraqi MP, the Russians threatened to bring

this issue to the United Nations if the Saudis continued working

against President Bashar al-Assad. The Saudis agreed to stop their

clandestine activities and work towards finding a political solution

on condition that knowledge of this program would not be made public.

YEREVAN.- Syrian Air will operate Yerevan- Latakia -Damascus flight instead of Yerevan-Aleppo on Tuesday. Representatives of the company’s Yerevan office told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the changes in flights are conditioned by unsafe situation over Aleppo airport. The ticket price will remain the same.

Syrian state agency reported that terrorists were killed and four vehicles, with DShK heavy machine guns, were destroyed in the industrial part of Aleppo.

A conscript, Armenian by origin, was one of those captured, community representative in Aleppo Zhirayr Reisian told Armenian News-NEWS.am. An armed group, which has captured soldiers, issued a statement saying the prisoners will be questioned. Based on their testimony, those guilty of committing crimes will be punished. Reisiam said they had no information on “crimes” and “punishments.” “We are only aware of the announcement, no other details are available,” he said.

Zhirayr Reisyan, Spokesperson of the Berian Diocese of the Armenian

Apostolic Church in Aleppo, has refuted official Ankara's statement

that the Syrian Armenians were crossing the Armenian-Turkish border

without any obstacles when moving from Syria to Armenia.

 

Reisyan told ArmInfo that the land way via the territory of Turkey is

rather dangerous and such move is rather an adventure than rescue. So,

he does not think that the Syrian Armenians made use of that way. He

added that Ankara's statement has apparently nothing to do with the

reality. He added that the Syrian Armenians mostly migrate to Armenia,

European countries and the USA.

 

Reisyan pointed out that as compared with the previous weeks, the

situation in Syria has improved, there is no shortage of food in the

Armenian community, and the information about large-scale looting

is false. "Such cases occur, but they are not directed against the

Armenian community and have no large-scale nature", he said.

 

To note, earlier the Turkish Foreign Ministry made a statement saying

that when supporting the population of Syria, Turkey never made any

distinctions between people on religious, ethnic or national grounds.

 

Ankara said that there are many Armenians among the 150 thsd refugees,

who moved to Armenia via the territory of Turkey. The statement

also said that Turkey itself would decide how to support the Syrian

refugees.

Some Syrian Armenians entered the territory of Armenia, crossing over Turkey, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said today in response to the signature collection campaign started at the White House's website, for Turkey's unconditional opening of the border with Armenia for the Syrian refugees, Trend reported.

According to the report, while rendering assistance to the victims in Syria, Turkey does not make a distinction in terms of religion, ethnicity and national origin.

Moreover, Turkey will resolve the issue with volume, form and conditions of rendering the humanitarian assistance to some victims.

Earlier, the Turkish Disasters and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) told Trend there is no need for Syrian refugees to move from Turkey to Armenia. Today it is impossible to open the Turkish-Armenian border for this purpose.

itself, a senior government official was quoted as saying on Saturday,

Jan 26, in one of Tehran's most assertive defenses of its ally yet,

Reuters reported.

Iran is a key supporter of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad who is

fighting a near two-year-long revolt. Tehran has already repeatedly

warned the West against intervening in the conflict against Assad.

"Syria has a very basic and key role in the region for promoting firm

policies of resistance ... For this reason an attack on Syria would be

considered an attack on Iran and Iran's allies," Mehr news agency

quoted Ali Akbar Velayati, an aide to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali

Khamenei, as saying.

Tehran sees Damascus as part of an axis of opposition to Israeli and

Western influence in the Middle East.

In September, an Iranian military official was quoted as saying Iran

would take action if the United States was to attack Syria.

Shi'ite Muslim power Iran and Syria, whose leader follows an offshoot

of Shi'ite Islam, signed a mutual defense pact in 2006, but little is

known of its details or whether there are any other signatories.

Iran accuses Western powers and regional states of supporting and

arming the Syrian rebels, while the rebels accuse Iran of sending

fighters from its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to help Assad

crush the uprising.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky stated about the threats, which hide in the

allegedly `peaceful NATO camps' intended for the refugees in the

Turkish provinces located near the border with Syria.

 

He believes that the NATO camps in reality train people for civil war

under the motto of protecting the refugees.

 

`They train fighters under the claims of assisting refugees, which

will be used on the border close to Syria for shaking the Syrian

President Bashar al-Assad's regime and cause tension,' the LDPR

The party leader also emphasized that installation of those camps in

Turkey may damage not only Damascus, but also later Istanbul as well.

Aleppo recently. Notwithstanding no bloody clashes have been recorded

in the city, but one can still hear explosions particularly at night.

 

The Press Secretary of the Armenian National Prelacy of Aleppo Jirair

Reisian stated this in a conversation with "Armenpress". In addition

he said that usually the clashes take place in the remote parts of

the city and in Bustan Basha district.

 

Among other things Reisian noted that recently there has been no

information regarding the wounded Armenians. Fortunately no casualties

have been recorded in the explosion in the Armenian populated district

of Sheykh Taha.

 

Our compatriot living in Damascus Nazareth Elmajyan stated that

Armenian from Damascus Nazareth Charkyan, who was kidnapped several

days ago, has not been released yet. Notwithstanding there is

information that ransom of USD 500 thousand has been reduced. The

general situation in the capital is calm. The streets and markets

have become quite crowded.

ARMENIAN KIDNAPPED IN DAMASCUS SET FREE

YEREVAN, JANAURY 30, ARMENPRESS. Our compatriot Nazareth Charkyan, who

had been kidnapped days ago in Damascus, was set free. Our compatriot

living in Damascus Nazareth Elmajyan informed "Armenpress" about this.

 

In addition he stated that he has been released after paying the

ransom. The amount of ransom has not been clarified yet, it has only

been declared that the ransom paid did not match the demanded amount

of USD 500 thousand.

 

Previously on January 23 it was stated that unknown armed men kidnapped

Armenian from Damascus Nazareth Charkyan right from his workplace and

demanded LS 50 million, which equals approximately to USD 500 thousand.

 

General situation in capital Damascus is calm; clashes flare up in the

villages nearby. Syrian SANA agency states that the governmental forces

destroyed vehicles belonging to the rebels, which were exploited to

transport arms. A number of armed rebels have been killed and wounded

Syria says Israel attacked military research center

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Israeli warplanes attacked a military research center in Damascus province at dawn on Wednesday, Syria's military command said, denying reports that the planes had struck a convoy carrying weapons from Syria to Lebanon.

Two people were killed and five wounded in the attack on the site in Jamraya, which it described as one of a number of "scientific research centers aimed at raising the level of resistance and self-defense".

The building was destroyed, the military command said in a statement carried by state media.

It said the planes crossed into Syria below the radar level, just north of Mount Hermon, and returned the same way.

Sources told Reuters earlier that Israeli jets had bombed a convoy on Syria's border with Lebanon on Wednesday, apparently targeting weapons destined for Hezbollah.

Armenian Killed In Aleppo

the road from Beirut to Latakia near the city of Jalbeh. The Press

Secretary of the Armenian National Prelacy of Aleppo Jirair Reisian

stated this in a conversation with "Armenpress". In addition he said

that the murdered Armenian is Hovsep Abgarian from Aleppo. The taxi

was assaulted in the surroundings of the Jalbeh city. Four people died

in the accident, three of them were Arabs. The accident happened 2-3

days ago, but only now it has been discovered that Hovsep Abgarian

was also among the casualties.

 

Among other things Jirair Reisian noted that Hovsep Abgarian must be

buried in the city of Jalbeh and only after several months his corpse

will be taken to Aleppo.

changed, one can still hear shooting from time to time. As to the

over 80 assassinated people near the river Quweiq, they have not been

ARMENIAN SCHOOL DAMAGED DURING ALEPPO CLASHES

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1, ARMENPRESS: Most Armenian populated Aleppo city's

various districts served an arena of clashes on January 31, midday.

 

As Berio National Primacy press secretary told Armenpress, one of

Armenian schools located in Ashrafie district was damaged, window

glasses were broken. The pupils, moved by security reasons were taken

out of the building.

 

The clashes took place in Ashrafie district, old city's Bab en Nasr,

Saba Bahrat, Sebili districts, as well as Bustan Basha district.

 

Fortunately the clashes were not hosted in Armenian populated

districts, yet they were pretty close to the site of the incidents.

 

Dwelling on the massacre taken place in Aleppo press secretary stated,

the corpses are not yet identified. The victims are in the hands

of opposition.

 

To Armenpress reporter question refer to Aleppo airport opening Reisyan

was quoted as saying "There was no clear news regarding the opening,

yet the state is making efforts to re open it". Press secretary did

not confirm the news an Armenian young man Hovsep Abgaryan died days

before was brutally murdered and burgled. Reisyan added our young

compatriot and three Arabs were killed, one another man was injured

by a bullet fired in the direction of the taxi.

 

According to UN data more than 60 thousand people were killed during

22 months ongoing clashes in Syria, including four dozen Armenians.

ISRAELI ATTACK: DESPERATE BID TO SAVE FAILED SYRIAN CAMPAIGN

February 01, 2013 "Information Clearing House" - Israel has conducted

airstrikes in Syria based on "suspicions" of chemical weapon transfers,

in a flagrant violation of the UN Charter, international law, and in

direct violation of Syria's sovereignty. The Guardian in its report

titled, "Israel carries out air strike on Syria," claims:

 

"Israeli warplanes have attacked a target close to the Syrian-Lebanese

border following several days of heightened warnings from government

officials over Syria's stockpiles of weapons."

 

It also stated:

 

"Israel has publicly warned that it would take military action to

prevent the Syrian regime's chemical weapons falling into the hands

of Hezbollah in Lebanon or "global jihadists" fighting inside Syria.

 

Israeli military intelligence is said to be monitoring the area round

the clock via satellite for possible convoys carrying weapons."

 

In reality, these "global jihaidists" are in fact armed and funded

by the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel since at least as early as

2007. They are also in fact the direct beneficiaries of Israel's recent

aggression. The Israeli "suspicions" of "weapon transfers" of course,

remain unconfirmed, because the purpose of the attack was not to

prevent the transfer of "chemical weapons" to Hezbollah in Lebanon,

but to provoke a wider conflict aimed not at Israel's defense, but

at salvaging the West's floundering proxy terrorist forces inside

Syria attempting to subvert and overthrow the Syrian nation.

 

The silence from the United Nations is deafening. While Turkey openly

harbors foreign terrorists, arming and funding them with Western,

Saudi, and Qatari cash as they conduct raids on neighboring Syria,

any Syrian attack on Turkish territory would immediately result in

the United Nations mobilizing. Conversely, Turkey is allowed, for

years, to conduct air strikes and even partial ground invasions of

neighboring Iraq to attack Kurdish groups accused of undermining

Turkish security. It is clear the same double standard has long

applied to Israel.

 

Israel, along with the US & Saudi Arabia, are Al Qaeda's chief

sponsors.

 

It must be remembered that as far back as 2007, it was admitted by US,

Saudi and Lebanese officials that the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia were

intentionally arming, funding, and organizing these "global jihadists"

with direct ties to Al Qaeda for the explicit purpose of overthrowing

the governments of Syria and Iran.

 

Reported by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh in his

New Yorker article, "The Redirection," it was stated (emphasis added):

 

"To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush

Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in

the Middle East. In Lebanon, the Administration has coöperated with

Saudi Arabia's government, which is Sunni, in clandestine operations

that are intended to weaken Hezbollah, the Shiite organization that is

backed by Iran. The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations

aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities

has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a

militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic

to Al Qaeda."

 

Of Israel it specifically stated: "The policy shift has brought Saudi

Arabia and Israel into a new strategic embrace, largely because both

countries see Iran as an existential threat. They have been involved

in direct talks, and the Saudis, who believe that greater stability

in Israel and Palestine will give Iran less leverage in the region,

have become more involved in Arab-Israeli negotiations."

 

Additionally, Saudi Arabian officials mentioned the careful balancing

act their nation must play in order to conceal its role in supporting

US-Israeli ambitions across the region:

 

"The Saudi said that, in his country's view, it was taking a political

risk by joining the U.S. in challenging Iran: Bandar is already seen in

the Arab world as being too close to the Bush Administration. "We have

two nightmares," the former diplomat told me. "For Iran to acquire

the bomb and for the United States to attack Iran. I'd rather the

Israelis bomb the Iranians, so we can blame them. If America does it,

we will be blamed.""

 

It may interest readers to know that while France invades and occupies

large swaths of Mali in Africa, accusing the Qataris of funding and

arming Al Qaeda-linked terrorist groups in the region, France, the

US, and Israel are working in tandem with the Qataris to fund and

arm these very same groups in Syria.

 

In fact, the US-based think-tank, the Brookings Institution literally

has a "Doha Center" based in Qatar while US-Israeli citizen Haim

Saban's Brookings "Saban Center" conducts meetings and has many of

its board of directors based likewise in Doha, Qatar. Doha also

served as the venue for the creation of the West's most recent

"Syrian Coalition," headed by an unabashed supporter of Al Qaeda,

Moaz al-Khatib.

 

These are part of the brick and mortar manifestation of the conspiracy

documented by Seymour Hersh in 2007.

 

The Wall Street Journal, also in 2007, reported on the US Bush

Administration's plans of creating a partnership with Syria's Muslim

Brotherhood, noting the group is the ideological inspiration for linked

terror organizations including Al Qaeda itself. In the article titled,

""To Check Syria, U.S. Explores Bond With Muslim Brothers," it states:

 

"On a humid afternoon in late May, about 100 supporters of Syria's

largest exile opposition group, the National Salvation Front, gathered

outside Damascus's embassy here to protest Syrian President Bashar

Assad's rule. The participants shouted anti-Assad slogans and raised

banners proclaiming: "Change the Regime Now."

 

The NSF unites liberal democrats, Kurds, Marxists and former Syrian

officials in an effort to transform President Assad's despotic regime.

 

But the Washington protest also connected a pair of more unlikely

players -- the U.S. government and the Muslim Brotherhood."

 

The article would also report:

 

"U.S. diplomats and politicians have also met with legislators from

parties connected to the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan, Egypt and Iraq

in recent months to hear their views on democratic reforms in the

Middle East, U.S. officials say. Last month, the State Department's

intelligence unit organized a conference of Middle East experts to

examine the merits of engagement with the Brotherhood, particularly

in Egypt and Syria."

 

It describes the ideological and operational links between the

Brotherhood and Al Qaeda:

 

"Today, the Brotherhood's relationship to Islamist militancy, and

al Qaeda in particular, is the source of much debate. Osama bin

Laden and other al Qaeda leaders cite the works of the Brotherhood's

late intellectual, Sayyid Qutb, as an inspiration for their crusade

against the West and Arab dictators. Members of Egyptian and Syrian

Brotherhood arms have also gone on to take senior roles in Mr. bin

Laden's movement."

 

Yet despite all of this, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, along with

Israel and Turkey are openly conspiring with them, and have now

for years been arming and funding these very sectarian extremist,

terrorist groups across the Arab World, from Libya to Egypt, and now

in and around Syria.

 

Israel's fears of these terrorists acquiring "chemical weapons"

is absurd. They have already acquired them with US, NATO, British,

Saudi, Qatari and even Israeli help in Libya in 2011. In fact, these

very Libyan terrorists are spearheading the foreign militant groups

flooding into Syria through the Turkish-Syrian border.

 

What Israel's strike may really mean.

 

Indeed, Israel's explanation as to why it struck neighboring Syria

is tenuous at best considering its long, documented relationship

with actually funding and arming the very "global jihaidists" it

fears weapons may fall into the hands of. Its fears of Hezbollah are

likewise unfounded - Hezbollah, had it, the Syrians, or the Iranians

been interested in placing chemical weapons in Lebanon, would have

done so already, and most certainly would do so with means other

than conspicuous convoys simply "crossing the border." Hezbollah has

already proven itself capable of defeating Israeli aggression with

conventional arms, as demonstrated during the summer of 2006.

 

In reality, the pressure placed on Syria's borders by both Israel

and its partner, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Turkey in

the north, is part of a documented plan to relieve pressure on the

Western, Israeli, Saudi-Qatari armed and funded militants operating

inside Syria.

 

The above mentioned, Fortune 500-funded (page 19), US foreign-policy

think-tank, Brookings Institution - which has blueprinted designs

for regime change in Libya as well as both Syria and Iran - stated

this specifically in their report titled, "Assessing Options for

Regime Change."

It’s worth noting that all these Jihadist crimes are accomplished with impunity thanks to their Big Boss' 'humanitarian assistance' plus the zealots’ training in Turkey under the umbrella of NATO’s Patriot missiles, sponsored all by the resources of Arab oil and their ruling elite in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. For sure this in itself is the greatest insult to the Arab nation and a disgusting anathema to the religion of Islam which preaches "There is no hatred in religion" (Surat al Baqara, HOLY QUR’AN). For sure the armed gangs of Syria plus their 'faithful' are now dancing their macabre dithyramb with the devil, while the cacophony band is conducted by the Maestro of the Supreme Military Power of the world.

 

God forbid for the worst to happen. Alas, it seems all is set to prepare for the Jihad terrorists to use chemical weapons, to then bamboozle the world as if it is the crime of the Syrian government. Lo and behold the so named 'Syrian government in exile' has now a political hypocrite, a self-acclaimed 'communist Christian' as its leader, with Jihadist bosses relishing and propagating his political and religious 'credentials', before reciting loud ‘God is Great’…

 

All the above hints, at least for me, that if and when the terrorist Jihadists overcome Syria, they will accomplish the ethnic cleansing of the Kurds helped by NATO's obedient Turkish government militias (as the Young Turk government, then the Kemalists, did less than a century ago, with the Armenian, Greek and Assyrian minorities -- all Ottoman citizens...). The Kurds now are a 'convenient' tool for those mostly foreign Jihadists to brainwash the uninformed as if there is a civil war in Syria, simply because the Kurds count ca 3 million Syrian citizens. unlike the fratricidal tragedy of Lebanon that lasted ca. fifteen years, where all warring factions were Lebanese citizens. Paradoxically, the Syrian forces had gone there yielding to US advice to help the Christian Lebanese -- what a macabre devilish plan it was to create decades of agony and hatred between Lebanon and Syria...Lebanon paid the 'price’ with more than 150 000 dead, Who knows the near future 'price' of Syria. Ltd, including the so-called ‘socialist’ President of the country of Marseillaise, while Russia and ‘communist’ China continue preaching in the wilderness their moto perpetuo appeal for peace negotiations...

 

Lo and behold, after killing his own mother, a young man of twenty in Connecticut, USA, has just committed a latter-day massacre of the innocents at a school, killing couple of dozens of children mostly aged between six and seven, then killing himself as if emulating a suicidal Jihadist, having acted first as a latter-day mini-king Herod…

 

Is it too far fetched to visualise this latest massacre in an elementary school in Connecticut as a microcosm of the macrocosm crime facing thousands of Syrian children, not forgetting the staggering 44,000 hungry children dying each day of the year, as if a Hiroshima bomb is unleashed every single day just to kill children?

 

I do pray for omnipotent time to at least manifest the reality that the spectre of a latter-day Apocalypse in the Middle East is just a bad dream, albeit a mirage of our turbulent times, and not a MISERERE NOBIS, before the Holy Easter 2013.

SYRIA'S CHRISTIANS DISPROPORTIONATELY AFFECTED BY THE WAR

Stockholm (AINA) -- Five years after writing his report By God -

Six Days in Amman, his personal report that changed the perception

of the war in Iraq, Nuri Kino is back with a new one. This time it's

the war in Syria and its consequences he wants to highlight.

 

Nuri Kino, award winning Swedish-Assyrian author and investigative

journalist, has met and interviewed nearly one hundred Christian

Syrian refugees. In his personal report he gives voice to this

otherwise silent minority. He is told harrowing tales of systematic

rape and kidnappings. Many, perhaps most of the refugees interviewed

express a desire to leave the Middle East for good and have contacted

human smugglers. A multi-million enterprise has sprung up around the

refugee crisis. Kino has also spoken to several of these smugglers and

investigated the trade. His first-hand report includes an interview

with a young man who reached Sweden after a hellish journey from

Syria. "Jacob" was forced into a sealed container and almost died of

suffocation. Only a few days after leaving the container he and some

seventy other men were forced onto a ship, where only half of them

survived the journey. Nuri Kino says this about his report:

 

We meet every day by news reports from Syria that evokes strong

emotions. But what do we really know about what is going on there? One

element can get a sense of a TV channel and another in another

TV channel. It is therefore important that the Syrians themselves,

witnesses of atrocities, can be heard. I could write short articles but

these are forgotten after just one day, that's why I decided to write

a longer report. I waited for the right time and when a Syriac Orthodox

youth organization would go to Beirut, it felt right to go with.

 

The war in Syria is growing increasingly worse every day, and it is

affecting every Syrian citizen, regardless of ethnicity or religion.

 

But the situation for minorites is even more horrifying. The Christian

minority in Syria has no militia and is targeted by everyone.

 

Christian Assyrians (also called Chaldeans and Syriacs) and others

have become the number one target for criminals and terrorists.

 

Between The Barbed Wire gives a voice to this people and is a must-read

for anyone who is involved or interested in issues of migration and

international politics.

 

The personal report compares the exodus of the Christians from Syria

with that from Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein. The current

similarities with the situation in Iraq are alarming. At the peak of

the sectarian conflict in Iraq, Christian were killed, some beheaded

in front of video cameras by extremists and driven from their homes

and businesses, targeted by religious intolerance and the prospect

of economic gain. Meanwhile more than half of the Iraqi Christians

have been forced to leave the country.

 

This is now being repeated in Syria.

 

Even though Christians make up more than 10 percent of Syria's

population, this amount is not reflected in the UNCHR registred

refugees numbers who fled to Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon. The mostly

ignored tragedy of the Christians in Iraq has convinced Christians of

Syria that international authorities will not step up to protect them.

 

While their plight is well known to the western media outlets they

still are forgotten by international aid organizations. They are

fleeing massively.
