The wisdom of Sri Chinmoy, a modern day guru

I understand that philosophy and where it comes from however without the body there is nothing hence keeping the body’s regulations is a priority number one. This remains me of the phrase “body and soul” I understand the detachment part and not being slave to the body but in my experience I had a severe back pain for a mouth and I could not think anything since the pain was excruciating so one can only mostly exercise the detachment of the body if that body is relatively healthy which brings me back to my point that ignoring the body stops everything even the path to (“heaven”) enlightenment

Armat jan, what have you done to your back? :) You must have done something wrong. I have had a similar experience.

I understand that above 4 lines can't tell much what exactly is meant. It does not mean one should disregard body & health but quite the opposite.

To get the idea better, here is something that shows this philosophy put in practice. It is simply amazing what we can do if we really want to:

What about starting a poll...

I am sure you will tell me I didn't give the right choices in the poll answers :P

But no need for such a poll, we all know that Domino is the master of all that stuff that nobody understands :D :D

God was One, but He wanted to become many. You cannot enjoy a game

with only one person. If you want to play any game, you will need more

players. God originated Himself out of His own Silence in order to

divinely enjoy the Cosmic Game.

If we go deep within, we see that we are only taking a conscious part

in God’s Cosmic Game. We see that we are not the doers; God is the

Doer. We are only His instruments. God is One, but He felt that He

wanted to enjoy Himself, to fulfil Himself in millions of shapes and

forms. He felt that being One, He was not fully satisfied. Why should

He be satisfied with only being the One Infinite? He can also be the

multitudinous finite. God is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent. If

He is omnipotent, then why should He not become like an ant, an

infinitely tiny creature? Because of His omnipotent Power, we think of

God as something very great or very vast. But just because God is

omniscient and omnipotent, He can also be inside the finite. In this

way, God is playing His eternal Game in and through you, through me,

through all human beings...

If I were perfect in every possible way then what would be my motivation to even get up from my bed?

Good point, I've stopped finding sense from Sri Chinmoys writtings. :D

Well, that doesn't mean there is no sense... but I thought you never found sense. Anyway, I don't want to open an off-topic discussion, I like to keep this thread for quoting and maybe interpreting ;)

Armat, I am glad you like it. It is interesting that you see purity, it never occurred to me that purity is what is contained in this painting. Probably other things also, can't see that deep to tell.

Some of his paintings and drawings are located at http://www.srichinmoyart.com . Some works are truely amazing, and some I don't understand but they are all unusual :)

When I look at then strangely peace and calm came over me, very strange but welcomed, harmonious is the word I wanted to describe, I f I were to see those paintings in a museum or some other public place maybe it wouldn’t had the effect on me that did when I look at them in private. Do you feel the same?

Nice Sasun

Edward, I have had the first pic on my wall for some time, and I never get tired of looking at it. It seems like an endless source of beauty and inspiration. I receive joy evertime I look at it. Sometimes I think - is this what real peace is? wow!

The second one gives me the impression of something beautiful and mysterious coming from a different world. It is hard to explain more, I enjoy looking at it.

I agree, looking in private certainly is better than in a gallery. I think the reason is that there are subtle vibrations coming from the pictures that are easier to notice and appreciate in a quiet private setting than in public where there are interferences. But personally for me the first picture is so obvious that when I saw in public it attracted me immediately.
