"Pro-turkism" as a growing ideology

I totally agree with you that “racism” is universal, and I’m not trying to appropriate this notion to our community. Unlike another worldwide-famous people that pretend the Holocaust is unique and nothing can compare to it (follow my lead), I’m not saying that our suffering is unique, and no other human suffering can even compare to ours.

 

Every genocide (Armenian, Jewish, Cambodian, Chinese by Japanese, Rwandan) has its own mechanism and specificities.

 

Also, I believe that by denying the first planned and proven genocide of modern history, the Armenian Genocide, the Western powers have paved the way to all other genocides that occurred during the XXth century.

 

And, right now, the Armenian diasporas throughout the world are in a situation somewhat similar to the Jews about two thousand years ago. We are a people without a land. Of course, unlike Jews, we have our Republic of Armenia. However, OUR Armenia is the Greater Armenia, currently occupied by Turks, and there’s no return possible, at least not in a near future. That why our situation is somewhat very similar to the Jews’.

 

We too, are victims of racism. There is a growing ideology in the Western world right now that tends to promote Turkey as a laic, democratic state, although we all know it’s not. And of course, all of the western powers wish there would be no Armenian problem, so things would be easier.

 

The racism that we are victims, has a name. It’s called “Pro-turkism”.

Takavor: I certainly agree that Armenias as many other ethnic groups have been and are currently victims of racism. I would call it "Pro-Capitalism", "Pro-Elite," because the U.S. protects Turkey to have financial and political power.

Like I said in the other thread, I am neither experienced nor knowledgeable enough to discuss this topic properly. Besides, it's the (well-deserved) holiday season. I'd rather think happy thoughts right now. Hope you don't mind. Although someone else might be more willing to reply...
