  1. The Staten Island blowup, just a the door of Manhattan, has reached its goal: it scared the hell out of the people. It filled its purpose well, to increase the war psychosis among the population one more notch. Double impact, double goal: 1) A deafening BLOWUP NOISE and a choc wave to make believe of a terrorist act or why not a bombing. 2) The BLACK CLOUD, to make sure EVERYONE sees it all the way to New Jersey, and remind the peaceful New York people of the World Trade Center dust cloud. Honestly, who would or could believe its just an accident? Well done, gentleman from the CIA! Just add one more layer of fear, and you are motivating the American people very well for the upcoming war. PS: The average American ( the ultra-nationalist) who lives in the heartland midway between Los Angeles and New York City is already supermotivated anyway. Only the multicultural people from New York need that kind of a reminder, that war is good for America. God bless America.
  2. The Irak war will unfold at the door of Armenia, only less than 200 miles away. That's a risky situation. Meanwhile, Turkey is negotiating with the US government to get both money ($15 billion) and land (Northen Irak, Kurd populated). Turkey is negotiating with America to send 60,000 troops in Northern Irak (to be stationned permanently). That's called "invasion". Meanwhile, if these troops (that are ready) is not used in Irak, they could be turned around (with America's approval), and head straight north towards Armenia. This happens at a time when Armenia is between two election rounds, and there's unrest. The army better be on high alert for the coming weeks, till the situation clears a bit. 3. Following this demonstration, the police has arrested somewhere between 100 and 200 people. Demirchyan really sucks. He's just looking to take power (just like his father during the soviet area), AT ANY COST. Abviously, that doesn't bother him to have his people on the grill.
  4. I'm looking at the permanent image that is printed on some people's mirror. Those who feel targeted by this statement, will come out openly, to protest, just like you did. Azat, you just proved me right. [ February 23, 2003, 04:16 AM: Message edited by: takavor ]
  5. Actually, I think it IS a joke. And, I know someone who is an even bigger joke. Pop quizz: Whom I'm I referring to?
  6. There are rats everywhere, including on this forum. Everyone in anxious to see them leave this ship. Pop quizz: Whom I'm I referring to?
  7. Elections cannot be won on the streets, at the polls only. Today the oposition leaders organized a massive demonstration of about 100,000 people. Demirchyan's attitude is totally irresponsible. He claims that if the coming March 7 election outcome does not make him the new president, then he won't recognize the elections as fair and democratic. That's too easy. What kind of an attitude is this, from a guy who pretends he can be president? People are demonstrating because they are in dear need of major changes and improvements in the harsh living conditions in Armenia right now. Demirchyan is using their desperation to manipulate them, and turn them into a revolutionary mob. That's disgusting. What solutions is Demirchyan REALLY bringing to Armenias problems? None that is better the Koch's. I don't like what's going on. Especially at time, when there will be a war in Irak, just 200 miles away from Armenia. I hope the army won't have to get involved to restore order after the second round of the elections. [ February 22, 2003, 04:56 PM: Message edited by: takavor ]
  8. Good one. I'm still laughing. I especially like that one: "7. We would ALL want to fly the plane." The interpretation may vary. One could see it as a shortcoming. However, the positive interpretation of that statement is that "Armenians are natural-born leaders". And THAT is very positive.
  9. Armenia is starting with a heavy handicap. The Western powers are totally biased (pro-turkish). They have so much interest in criticizing us, whenever they get the chance, and making us look bad. That's why the country's unity is essential. TOGETHER we cannot be be defeated. Hope this election won't create unrest.
  10. Hi, There will be second round for the elections. The Coach got 49.8% of the votes.
  11. We should all hope that the issue of the election won't seriously destabilize Armenia. Our enemies will see it as a weakness. The OSCE observers are spreading exagerrated news about irregularities. Bullshit. In any country in the world, including US, France, England, there are to some extent irregularities during elections.
  12. Although the electoral central commission hasn't officially announced yet, here are some preliminary results: Kotcharian 51 to 52% Demirdjian 30% Keghamian 15% Karapetyan 3% Every other runner <1% R. Kotcharian [aka. the "coach"] is therefore reelected as President. [ February 20, 2003, 03:31 AM: Message edited by: takavor ]
  13. The political equation is: 5 years of political and social stability + continued economical growth + no concessions about Kararabgh (no land swap) = Kotcharian
  14. Election Results at 5:30 AM Armenia time Kotcharian: 47.9% Demirdjian: 31.9% Keghamian: 19.6% Karapetyan:3.33% each other runner: <1% [ February 19, 2003, 05:32 PM: Message edited by: takavor ]

  18. quote:Originally posted by Azat:Takavor, this is very enlightening. Would you think that Russians are in danger in the future of Americans. You know after Iraq US probably will attack Russia as well since they too have a huge oil reserve and are not American control. Am I right? The ultimate goal for Armericans and British is China, not Russia. British have tried to conquer Afghanistan since they got India. They never succeeded, but, eventually, with the Americans coalition, they made it in 2002. Central Asia will become their new base to tackle China. History, shows that Western powers have always wanted China. French used Indochina and Vietnam as way to get to China. Americans tried with Korea. British set up the opium trafficking, that lead to the famous opium war, and the loss of Hong-Kong, by China. Portugese got Macao. French got ShangHai. Everone wanted a piece. And, they still do.
  19. quote:Originally posted by Azat:So what you are saying is that America controls 3 of the major players in OPEC(Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Kuwait) and they just want to take over Iraq as well so they would control practically all the oil in the world? wow, see you learn something new everyday. That's exactly what I'm saying. You learn fast. PS: By the way, have ever been to Angola? I have, too. It has large oil resources, offshore. And, I can testify here, that the situation is exactly the same, there too.
  20. I've been to Venezuela, I know Venezuela, and I can tell you that the resources are one way or the other ALREADY controlled by America. I can tell you there are THOUSANDS of American workers in the oil production business there. So as in Koweit, and Saudi Arabia. There aren't any in Iraq.
  21. Dustin Hoffman has become the latest US star to voice his opposition to war with Iraq. Hoffman accused the Bush administration of "manipulating the grief of the country" after the events of September 11. The president's real motives for going to war are power and oil, he said. He spoke out after receiving a lifetime achievement accolade at the Empire Film Awards in London. "For me as an American, the most painful aspect of this is that I believe that administration has taken the events of 9/11 and has manipulated the grief of the country and I think that's reprehensible," he said. "I don't think, like many of us, that the reasons we have been given for going to war are the honest reasons. "If they are saying it's about the fact they have biological weapons and might have nuclear weapons and that gives us the liberty to pre-empt and strike because we think they might hit us, then what prevents Pakistan from attacking India, what prevents India from attacking Pakistan, what prevents us from going into North Korea? "I believe - though I may wrong because I am no expert - that this war is about what most wars are about: hegemony, money, power and oil". Hoffman pointed out that the US had once funded Saddam Hussein's regime even as he killed tens of thousands of Kurds. He added that he believed all politicians were incapable of telling the truth. "If I was asked what is the most important aspect of being a politician, I would say getting re-elected. And when that's the goal, then all bets are off with the truth".
  22. Here is some positive and very encouraging news for the growing economic development of Armenia. The railroad works to rehabilitate the tracks are scheduled to begin by summer’s end. This means Armenia will have a railway link with Russia, again. A few train stations located along the railroad are now being remodeled. In the Adler region, Russian soldiers themselves are participating in the tracks rehabilitation works to allow 24-cars convoys to use these tracks, instead of the previous 16-cars only. Valery Deloy, in charge of railways in the Adler region was quoted as saying: “Travelling southbound from Sotchi to Sokhoumi is now possible, and we are now certain that the Moscow-Tbilissi and Moscow-Yerevan lines will resume shortly.”
  23. quote:Originally posted by Azat:Eurasia Insight: THE WEST WATCHES ARMENIA CHOOSE Emil Danielyan: 2/02/03 A EurasiaNet Partner Post from RFE/RL Armenia will face what could be the biggest test yet of its democratic credentials. The United States and Europe strongly criticized the 1998 Armenian elections and are again keeping a watchful eye on the intensifying election campaign. This time, Western officials say, the scrutiny will be far more focused. "The process will be put under a microscope to a much larger extent than it was in the past," "This will be a real test of Armenia's international commitments." "big challenge for Armenia." "I think it's a test this time to see whether the authorities have progressed far enough to run an election which is really clean and really meets international standards," Eicher said in an interview. Editor’s Note: Emil Danielyan is an RFE/RL correspondent based in Yerevan. When I read this articule carefully, I just wonder (based on the above statements), "Why are they putting SO MUCH pressure on the Armenian elections?" "What interest do the US and the Western Europe powers have to seize any opportunity to make Armenia look bad on the international scene?"
  24. quote:Originally posted by THOTH:As far as I'm concerned you have fully prooved my point. Toth, most people believe something can happen only when it happens. It's human nature. Sometimes, even when it happens, they try to convince themselves there must be some good reason why it happened. Simply because it disturbs their peaceful, and naive thinking. Because, they prefer to pretend they can live in a happy, cozy world ever after. however, other people think ahead them.
  25. Well Toth, Toth, You say I'm versing towards paranoia, and at the time, you just agree with me that Turkey has plans over Nothern Irak. Forecast, means taking risks. It means putting current facts evidence together to forecast were they can lead to. That's the analytical process. If I tell you, I had forecast the Afghanistan show-down about 6 months before the September 11 events? You probably won't believe me. Anyway, as I travel a lot, I can tell you that starting February 2001, Afghanistan was already ALL OVER the news channels worldwide. Why is that? Because people need to be educated first. There's been tens of documentaries wordlwide showing the customs of Afghan people, how women's rights are violated, etc... (PS: I'm not defending them here, I just present the facts). So, after a month or so of this Afghan education shit, I said. That's it. Something's up. The US and the British are going after Afghanistan. Guess what happened? Now, how does Sept 11 fit into this? I think the CIA knew there were plots. They just underestimated their enemy. They probably thought it was just gonna be small aircrafts (like single-propeller or Cesna). If I had posted this on this forum, you and others would probably said I'm paranoiac. Now, I can say I was damn right! PS I: To answer your question: Armenia has now been removed from that shameful list, after our friends in Congress lobbied hard. The Dept of Justice apologized for the so-called mistake. Mistake, my ass. PS II: You said Armenia couldn't stand up to Turkey in case of a conflict. What is Sadarabad then? A scout camp? But, that's probably true now. Tyrkey is VERY well equipped. However, with the latest weaponry, even a small country can stand up to a big bully, and inflict it severe losses. PS III: In 1993, Turkish were already deployed along the Armenian border, and field POCs were set up. Why is it they backed off? Russia? Does Armenia have mass cestruction weapons, afterall? None will ever know. [ February 01, 2003, 04:50 PM: Message edited by: takavor ]
