ALMA
Wow Alma jan, so it was snowing in England heh? Well the spring blossoming didn't start there yet. I see Ed and others spent the easter with the whole family. Well you guys were luckier. My easter was spent not with the whole family. More like bits and pieces and separate. <_< But nevertheless it was a beautiful sunny day. Takoush jan it never does we probably get 1 month of ok weather, never perfect summer, although this year it's been predicted much better one. Let see
ALMA
Is it because they don't abide by that BULLSH*T, OK I said it! That the Resurrection is a Christian Holiday and is not based on that anti-Christ BULLSH*T hrya calendar of Pissover, whatever the H it is? The main religious holiday for Russian people is Orthodox Easter. Easter is celebrated in late March or early April. The date of Easter varies from year to year, and moreover, Russian Orthodox Easter is usually celebrated AFTER American Catholic one. To be on the safe side, it is better to check the exact Easter date. You can do it by referring to the article below. There you will find Easter dates for the next 5 years. So why does Russian Easter go after American one? The question is very difficult, and the answer would be really complicated to read. I'll just say that it is connected with its Julian vs. Gregorian calendar, as well as with different interpretation of certain religious dates by Catholic and Orthodox Churches. There are some other things, but I do not think they all should be mentioned here. Easter is very important for Russians. A lot of traditional celebration goes on in churches; plenty of people attend the services. Some people are very religious, and this holiday is full of sacred meaning to them. Others pay tribute to their Orthodox upbringing, and dye eggs and cook special food due to the tradition. Easter is not an official holiday, however. It is always celebrated on Sunday, but people do not have a day-off on some other day of the week, unfortunately. This is what I found although it's not very informative. Takoush
That is informative Alma jan. Personally and I know most Armenians are the same way, we love Easter. Easter is the beginning of spring and good weather, it is a happy time with making choreg and the coloring of eggs. Our Armenian Gregorian Churches usually are filled with a great deal of people on every Easter Sunday. Though we celebrate with the rest of the world; like the Catholics and the Protestants but not with the Russians and the Greeks. I believe they celebrate a week or so later than us, even though all three of us belong to the Orthodox denomination. But we Armenians are Gregorians. The Russians and the Greeks are called solely of Orthodox denomination. Very similar to us; but not exactly the same.
Sip
Wait wait wait .. I'm all confused now ... I thought we colored eggs on Easter to symbolize the bunny eggs that were covered by jesus's blood under the cross ... now you're telling me it's some sort of fertility fest? As much as I hate the name "easter", I love the name Zatik. And I prefer to call it A-Zatik ... the day of Azat. ... and one more thing ... I don't know about you all but I'm still going to be alive the next time this mess with coloring eggs this early in March repeats.

Actually Easter eggs -the red- symbolizes Jesus' blood; but the bunny Arpa said that it symbolizes fertility as bunnies have numerous offsprings "nabasdag" That sounds good to me to call it A-Zatik after Azat. You're going to be alive in 2228??? Oh my lord... do you think you're planning to be Matos agha? Մաթոս աղա????
