The dumber the population is kept, the easier it is to control them. It is the same way all the other animals maintain social hierarchies (like the queen bee dumbing down her workers by secreting a chemical that doesn't allow them to learn). I guess Armenia. Truly speaking our people are bright.
Sip
Truly speaking our people are bright. You really think you will get much better answers if you randomly stop people on the streets in Armenia and ask them general triva questions?
Sip
From a relativistic point of view both answers are accurate. Each revolve one around the other but since the Sun mass is considerably higher than Earth's, it curves space more. But I doubt that is why he was mixed. Weren't you the one who originally posted this video here somewhere?
Louise
You really think you will get much better answers if you randomly stop people on the streets in Armenia and ask them general triva questions? ---------------------------------- Of course there are idots in Armenia too, but I think really there are more intellectuals there, because in the past, in every village they constructed first a church and just after a school, with the money of the village people. When my mother was deported in Konya, she had learnt French at school, she was only 13 years old. At the same time, the Turks went only to koranic school. My grand mother had been to school until 16 years old, I have her photo with the professors who were priests. When the parents are cultivated, the children are too. ALMA
You really think you will get much better answers if you randomly stop people on the streets in Armenia and ask them general triva questions? Is that a question or a joke? Unlike in US Armenian students are multi -developed and Unlike in US in Armenia irrelevant subjects are compulsory which makes Armenians much knowledgeable than the Americans and not only Americans. Yes just like everywhere else there are people in Armenia that have very limited knowledge but education system is far too high in Armenia. Sip
Is that a question or a joke? It's a statement I would use myself as an example but I wasn't fully a product of US schools. However, I will put up my brother against 99% of people from Armenia. He is 100% a product of US public schools and I can guarantee you he will beat every single one of them in terms of how much he knows. The US is very very large which means you get a very wide range of people in terms of their intellect. The stupid are very stupid and the smart are very smart while the average are very average These "clip" shows that selectively pick and show only the stupid do not show a full picture of the "level" of the people. Of course it wouldn't be very funny to show clips of people that know answers to questions now would it?

Anoushik
It's not just Americans ... the whole world is full of idiots ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMFsuBlkoIQ In all fairness, I'd like to say that whenever I've watched the U.S. "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire" the audience has always seemed knowledgeable. However, it's not the case with the Armenian audience in the Armenian version of the show. As I see, the same applies to the French.

Alma, I've come to realize that one's knowledge and education has nothing to do with the school system. It's how one educates oneself beyond the school that matters. “Read, read, read. Read everything." - William Faulkner

Read everything." - William Faulkner I do agree that education beyond school is important but school education is just as important. Well at least Armenian schools. In every summer holiday we had to read from 25 to 40 books and this was from the age of 10-11. It obviously varies from school to school but the average was 25 books per summer holiday. Anoushik
Alma, I don't believe that. It's an exaggeration. If you read, it's because you wanted to, and not because you had to. Edited August 14, 2007 by anoushik
ALMA
Alma, I don't believe that. It's an exaggeration. If you read, it's because you wanted to, and not because you had to. I'm not trying to convince you, you read because you want to when you are out of school while at school you read because you have no other choice, unless you want to be humiliated and insulted in front of the whole class and you want your mum to be embarrassed in the parents meeting when the teacher starts talking about each pupil in front of all the parents. I personally read because I wanted to but many had to read as they had no other option.
Anonymouse
It also matters what one reads. One can read stacks and volumes of stupid novels and not gain insight into life and being. Reading the right books also matters.

Yes and do, the US has the ressources, very accessible libraries for each schools, internet stations in schools, many educational channels, good ressources for education in schools. Ressources is just as much important is personal interest, we can not slice both and separate them individually they are interrelated. DominO123
Just for information. The only way right now we can detect planet presence around other starts is by measuring this revolution of the stars turning around their planets. Those religious fanatics on the middle ages weren't entirly wrong.
