It seems like more and more Armenian merchants sell both Armenian and foreign CDs that are counterfeit. I walked into Chaterian video for a CD and DVD today and guess what they have, the counterfeit one and even the cover was incorrect. When I asked I was told that it was an import. Guess who gets hurt at the end, the consumer who gets a lower quality item for the same price as well as the actual performers. Shame on all those who knowingly participate on the activity. vava Posted September 25, 2006 Report Share Posted September 25, 2006 Many people here have commented to me personally upon hearing that I'm Armenian, "Armenians are such industrious, hard-working people" - and that is the impression we leave upon otars. Hardworking, thrifty, and more often than not, "our kind" is affluent. I would hope that the drive to succeed and do well financially, doesn't come at the (heavy) price of integrity. I have the Bon Anniversaire DVD and the CD and I wanted to get a copy for my cousin who enjoyed yesterdays concert as well. I checked Amazon first for the DVD and they did not have any in stock(back order), so I just drove to Chaterian thinking they would have it. Just now I checked Narek as well and they too have the counterfeit. Pisses me off. Tells me that there is a bigger organization behind this that supplies these CDs and DVDs to the stores, but I am 99.99% sure the stores knw that they are not the real deal. It's hard to believe that they will carry that overhere, for whatever minimmal benefit. I mean Narek too? Woe be upon the industry...
