Of course, this is not the time or the place to get into this subject, we have spoken about it on numerous occasions, ad infinitum, ad nauseam. Yet of all the pains I may have, including the Big G, to me nothing is more painful... as we perpetuate the language and culture of a people that all but annihilated us and our culture.

Norin Arqayakan Vsemutyun, Your Royal Majesty, Hayots Tagouhi ev Astvatsuhi Anahit. Anonq “himar” cheyin, @ndhakarak@, shat gitun eyin ev taghantavor, aynqan vor anonq karoghatsan minchev Amerikaner gahgthel yev hay mshakuyt@ taradzel askharhi chors angyunner@. They brought stuffed eggplant, smbuk lits and zucchini and they called it by its Turkish name instead of “lits”, they brought stuffed leaves and called it by its Turkish name instead of “terev patouk” or simply “terev”or “patouk”, they brought “apukht” and called it by its Turkish name. they brought yoghurt and told the world it was a Turkish word. “Yoghurt” is not Turkish, it is Armenian based on “yogh/yegh”an IndoEurpean word meaning oil/fat, Turkish is not an IE language therefore “yogh-(urt) cannot be a Turkish word.

Yes Dear Queen, those were not “himar”, they lacked the mastery of the Armenian language, the, what is our excuse? Is that mf language still our mother tonue that we advertise those items by their Turkish names, it is specially most painful when our Christian Armenian churches promotes those delicacies with their Muslim Turkish names. The list is longer than a yeradzayn patarak.

Who is the “himar” our well meaning, albeit linguistically inadequate ancstors or us?

since we are discussing matsun...does anybody living around the tri-state area know who is behind "Erivan" matsun company. My west-coast friends were pleasantly surprised to know that here we have matsun company actually named after an Armenian city (of course old spelling is bad) but on the west coast till this day no single armenian matsun company has that (to my knowledge) where so many Armenians live.

You made another valid point about even our Christian churches continuing the initial mistakes of our few older generation of Armenians.
