Arpa
wellll we have been using radio in Armenian for ages now - but we do have a name for it - and it's soooo sweet sounding can any of you guess what it is ?? Yes we do! It is RADIO/ՌԱԴԻՈ!! Listen to what the announcer says here; http://www.armradio.am/arm/ Why must we always invent ten mile long words when 99% of the world uses terms like "radio", "TV" and "computer"??? Why must we always stick out like sore thumb?? Are we inhabitants of this planet or do we live in some distant galaxy??? Yea, yeah I know, when we were yoner they tiold us that it was "herakhos", yet those same teachers tell us that there are 39 letters in the Alphabet.??? "herakhos" as in "distant' talking", as opposed to "heradzayn/distant voice/telephone" . Edited June 28, 2006 by Arpa
