Gabig
Any suggestions on products for that thick, curly, crazy (but wonderful) Armenian hair? I keep looking for cremes, mousses, gels, whatever, to boost the curl and look natural/not crunchy.... I think Armenian hair is very unique in that sense... I love it, but it's every bit as feisty as Armenia itself!

I feel kind of like an idiot for even replying to this, but Armenians do not have a specific "hair type" and there is not "uniquely Armenian" hair. I appologize if anyone is disappointed. Gabig
I actually just meant curly hair in general, referencing that Armenian hair tends to be (but not always) curly and coarse. No need to go all anthropological...

vava
I used to have thick curly coarse hair - actually, once someone told me I have a 'white man's afro' In any case, I have never found any product that "tamed" my hair - I did however have a measure of success by shaving my head. skhara
Just love your hair as it is and you will not see it as crunchy. Dude, I keep meaning to ask. What is that bear in your avatar? Oh and my hair was kind of curly when I was little, then it "straightenned out", but the edges still curl when they get longer. Why am I still talking about hair? Arpa
Hey you guys! Have you read this? http://hyeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1602&hl=ouner As to Vahagni Tsund@. Yes I have read it, I may even have written about it here. " Na hour her ouner, Bots ouner morous, Ev achkounqn eyin aregakounq". The fact that Khorenatsi takes poetic license and decribes him as having red hair does not mean we are the ancestors of every one with red hair. Yes, there are red haired Armenians, both of my brothers have blond hair and blue eyes, I don't. The fact that Sevak (black eyes) is a popular name does not make us trademark holders of that trait either, neither does Hrachya (fire eyes) mean that they have orange, flame colored eyes. The only people with pink, flame colored eyes are albinos. BTW. I am sure you know that Vardkes means "rose colored (red)hair". Do you see that "her" and "hair" may have the same follicular "root" !!!
SanVal
I have a question for anyone who has the opposite problem. I have boring, straight hair. Eva
That's exactly what would make it dry and unhealthy, and will give you split ends. well that's true , but you don't have to use the curlier everyday, and you can use natural shampoos and conditionars from natural herbs to improve the hair quality. Natural is the best,,Like the brand "Biolage", tha's what I use, and they have specific ones for straight, curly or waivy and many other kinds. Also, they have products that would naturally make the straight hair curly and give volume, my advice ,just check that brand,,
Sip
Armenian hair or not, the fact remains that most Armenians would rather have the hair that they have on their chest, on their head. This applies to both men AND women.

Arpa
Don't forget the moustache, men AND women. An ethnic joke: Q.Why do Italian men have moustaches? A. To look like their mothers. Armenian saying; If there were dignity to hair it would not grow in certain other places.
